I feel the same way. Usually 40 episodes feels like a lot to watch but this drama is so fast paced that I didn't realize that we are almost at end now and I don't want to say goodbye to this show and characters

Princess Lin an & XQA moments this ep was sooo good and cute. I was giggling at them acting like they don't care but also want other one to confess haha

I was wondering in the beginning why XQA is so lucky with so much stuff and i think this ep kinda answered it with the reveal that he has fortune of Dafeng inside him. Damn all of that was foreshadowing from the start. That's actually impressive writing haha

yeah for me it's hard to stay focus if an actor's voice is dubbed by someone else. I know I am in minority haha but idc I prefer listening to his own voice so I hope he improves and keep using his own voice. Although idk how it will feel to listen to wang hedi's voice portraying DFQC (that's challenging)

If you are really big fan of wang hedi and can ignore all the red flag abusive stuff in initial episodes then you can try it but that show is just badly written. I actually liked 2ML in that show more than mc (wang hedi acting wasn't that impressive too because it was his first big role)
I actually finished it in 5 days so that means it wasn't boring. Just a guilty pleasure type of drama to pass the time haha
I am currently watching Guardians of the dafeng (new wang hedi drama) and really enjoying it. First 10 episodes were slow and more of comedy plus set up but the plot gets better & better especially in second half. It's very different from usual cdramas (romance is side plot and male centric) but i find it refreshing

Same especially side characters in cdramas mostly feel like extras but here most are good written but Lord wei is my favorite too. I think actor did a great job. His expressions are subtle but we can see how much he pampers XQA. His care towards XQA can be seen from his face without any dialogue needed

Today's ep was so good and wholesome. The whole XQA and Lord wei conversation melted my heart. LW truly understands him best and like a father figure for him. XQA can act natural & cute in front of him instead of treating him like a boss. And the goodbyes to the family 🥺
I hope Lin an escapes from palace and go with him because otherwise when will we see more of them together?

Dw mdl rating doesn't matter. I haven't watched it yet but this show is currently very popular in china (top 1 in most popularity charts) and it's doing great from the start. Weibo opening rating for this drama is 9.3 so reception is mostly positive. Only GOTD views are ahead but that is ending soon so this show just needs to be consistent and it will be a big hit
