wang hedi and bai lu both have a lot of haters that's why their dramas are mostly ranked low in douban. TTEOTM which is really popular is rated around 5.6 and wang hedi dramas where he is using his own voice gets criticized a lot and get low ratings in douban even if they are good

This story has slow burn romance which is more in background and main story is centered around ml journey so you won't get much of their moments but the few we have is really sweet

I think competition is very high atm and maybe that's why. it took time for even GOTD to reach 30k heat index on tencent so I thought maybe same will happen with MM considering it started strong as you said but not enough days left now so hard to reach that mark now. Engagement, likes, high viewership on iqiyi app etc will help the heat index from what I know

The avg views per ep of LBFAD is around 100 million so I think it reached that 10k mark early on from what I remember (around 15 ep in). it's probably the most popular xianxia of last 3 years in China

He decided to take it slow but he was basically forcing himself to not act for the sake of others. However, what happened to Mr zheng was breaking point for him and he couldn't hold himself after that because the burden of not able to act in time and save mr zheng was weighing on him. That's why after the justice is served, he finally breathe a sigh of relief and cried. This actually shows that he is not perfect. He made reasonable mistakes based on his emotions which makes him more human.

What is off about it?
We saw it from the start that XQA is a reckless fool who will act to seek justice no matter what so he doesn't care about consequences which we can also see in ep 15. That's why he told his family to leave dafeng at the end so even if he dies in the process after defying emperor, his family don't have to bear consequences of his recklessness. I also think he quit guardians so others won't be blamed for his rebellion. He was prepared for anything and that's why we all love him. He is smart & intelligent but when it is about injustice, he will ignore all logic or strategic mindset and will act against injustice

I love that song which was used when everyone assemble to defend XQA in ep 40. Should have used that one more imo

I recommend love between fairy & devil after you watch this. you will be amazed by how different Dylan wang's character is in that show and how well he played that character (his most iconic role)

You are like me then. Kdramas getting really pale for me. Only enjoyed lovely runner last year. I started watching cdramas 1.5 years ago and only watched like 10-12 shows but I am finding them more refreshing. Even if there are writing flaws, I am not bored and it's at the very least entertaining

Recently, some kdramas have started pre producing it after Netflix involvement but still not easy to change how industry works I am new to cdramas but from what I have seen, all dramas have to be pre produced because they go through censorship process (really strict and lots of restrictions). Sometimes shows never pass censorship process and remain in shelf (BL shows) and sometimes they cut out many things from the show to avoid restrictions and to get pass that's why many cdramas feel rushed at the end because of so much restrictions. Like for e. g till the end of the moon was supposed to be 70 eps but china recently made the law that dramas can't be over 40 episodes so the show ended in a disaster. Mostly xianxia genre cdramas have bad endings tbh. Guardians of the dafeng is an exception that it's last few episodes were so good otherwise majority cdramas I watched get boring in final act

I am new to cdramas so not familiar with lead actor and actress of flourished peony but looking at some clips give me the vibe that this is more dark & mature which I usually like so I am sure I will like it as long as writing is good

Many kdramas start airing while the shooting is not done from what I hear. Some like glory or other Netflix kdramas are pre produced that's why more consistent. Pre production is really expensive and they don't want to risk by making the whole show so they air the show and see if audience liking it. if a show is good then we usually get 16-20 episodes (some popular shows like sky castle was initially going to be 16 ep but they dragged it to 20 ep after it's popularity in first half) so the quality of the script is sacrificed
