Edit, I don’t need the second couple fans to give me the riot act, I read the novel and my opinion doesnt change that!

If any of the second couple fans still dares to say that the second couple gets barely any screentime I’m going to riot!

Hua in the beginning gets jealous and Peanut does sometimes picks up on that. But at some point Hua learns to love Peanut, he learns that the same way as him not being able to cry, he studies it, reads all kinds of books etc. Peanut is after all part Sheng, but Hua will always love Sheng more. We also shouldn’t forget that Hua has no idea how to love their child, he had a very hard childhood and upbringing. He had a ruthless father and siblings who treated him like trash and even tried to assault him. He has no example as to how he should treat and love their child

And yes Hua is happy but Sheng has a very complicated labor, to the point of almost losing his life. Hua is absolutely terrified, even genuinely cries at that time, it’s why they only have Peanut. Even though both Peanut and Sheng wouldn’t mind another sibling/child, Hua is just firmly against it, because of that fear. Hua is very clear, when Sheng dies, he will follow him.

It’s not just that, SSY doesnt believe that Enigmas exist. They were myths, even the doctors were astounded when they learned that HY is an enigma. They had only read about it in research papers. For SSY he doesn’t want to acknowledge that there are in fact people that are stronger and more powerful than him, he is proud of the fact that he is an S-class Alpha.

I compare it to being told that vampires or werewolves exist, would you believe it? Would you believe it if other people told you they exist? Or would you try and convince yourself that they don’t exist. Sheng his fundamental beliefs change only after he realizes he is pregnant, not just being told he’s pregnant but actually feels Peanut.

I definitely saw the same, and at times he looks like a very young Bible, during KinnPorsche era.

Just started episode 4 And I feel so sorry for SK everybody, from his family to all the servants constantly go on and on about his duty, his responsibilities. As if SK isn’t aware of those responsibilities, hell its probably ingrained in his heart by now. They don’t see him as a person, who already has massive responsibilities on his shoulders. It’s so sad to see, instead of worrying what that uncle is up to, they are more worried about SK creating a scandal, those servants are creating more suspicion by acting so weird about SK staying the night with another man, in front of others.

Edit: At this point I’m hoping that Pin will just propose to have some kind of Lavender Marriage with SK.

That is indeed what happened. If you look at the pilot episode so many big names, it’s no suprise really. But there were also some complaints about one of the main lead actors. The character he was supposed to play, was in the novel a older guy. It was still legal and all, but the age difference was a big part of the story. From what I remember the character was supposed to be around 50 (I think) and the team selected Dollar Patchara Pinta to play that character, Dollar is around 20 years old. I mean I didn’t see necessary the problems with it, but the age difference was still a huge part of the novel. So I do get the complains.

The Thai BL titles I mentioned are as far as I know all Thai companies. I didn’t think you only meant Chinese BL series that were cancelled or shelved. So I mentioned the once I knew of that were temporary shelved like KP or Lover Merman and the once that were officially cancelled. I’m sorry that I was unclear about.

As for Desire, I think it wasn’t necessary because the sisters are wealthy and have connections (though it probably did help in some ways) because otherwise Kill For Love and Revenged Love wouldn’t have been able to air, seeing as they had tiny budgets.

I think these last few Chinese BL series have used loopholes in the censorship laws, such as co-productions between other countries, not having it air in China and only international or having the series registered under another country.

Now I do think the sisters did have some influence in having the desire4 stay together and be able to do another (if not multiple) series after this one. I also think she might have had some influence into getting the 4 into those music concerts/festivals. Though about that one I’m not sure, because Zi Yu (Revengef Love main lead) is currently also doing a lot of music festivals on his own, and his agency/studio was fairly small during the airing of RL, that might have changed since then.

I personally also hope that it will give other Chinese companies the incentive and courage to start making BL series, but there are also rumors going around that the censorship laws might get tightened again due to these previous companies using loopholes to air BL series. The next meeting to discuss the censorship laws I s supposed to be somewhere in October, hopefully it’s just rumors and nothing gets changed.

As for people hating on Desire, sadly there will always be people who can’t stand seeing other series doing good or better than their favorite. Thats sadly how things go, also MDL can be notoriously negative.

I honestly haven't heard anything of it, but seeing the rumors that this series was supposed to have about 20 to 24 episodes instead of 16, i wouldn't be surprised if NJ decides to air those skipped scenes in some form of episodes / BTS scenes. IF that rumor is true though.

Pff good question, i don't think a lot. Especially from China, in the list below there are multiple BL's from author Priest which have been shelved. For some straight chinese series, some get shelved temporarily when they go through the censorship approval. For example Story Of Kunning Palace.

I know of one BL series that had been shelved/cancelled, which was KinnPorsche, the original company ran out of money. Be On Cloud picked it up after. I think Lover Merman was cancelled (or delayed) and that one started airing last week. Some BL series i know that have been shelved (probably) indefinitely are Red Peafowl, My Engineer 2, Lovely Addict, Wheel of Love, My Miracle Love, Love Chase, Midnight Fortune (mpreg/omegaverse).

Sadly, ever year those rumors start up again, same for Winner is King. Winner is King is another series that has been shelved indefinitely, adaptation from Stars of Chaos: Sha Po Lang by writer Priest. It’s been 5 years since that one was filmed. Honestly I have stopped hoping for both series to be released, the companies that made the series have other options to avoid the censorship. Like some other Chinese companies have done, register the company, series under another country is one such option. But both of these companies don’t want to do that because they don’t want to miss out on the Chinese revenue, they can get if it gets through the censorship. I did read about 3 months ago, that Immortality was doing some revisions to the series, but if that is actually true, I honestly don’t know.

I honestly think that Eliot and Kipuka will be doing a series before Ocean and Seeky will do another series. It’s been know for a couple weeks (if not already a month or so) that Eliot and Kipuka would be open to doing another series together. From then on Nong Jian had mentioned in their live feed that they had 2 or 3 scripts to chose from. I believe it was 2 period dramas and one modern. Ocean and Seeky only confirmed recently that they want to do another series. So time wise NJ have had more time to think over what sort of series they want to do.

It’s the adaptation of a BL novel called The Husky and His White Cat Shizun. It’s been years since it got filmed, filming started in 24 of April 2020 and stopt filming after 153 days on September 23, 2020. It was supposed to be released somewhere in 2021, yet it’s been shelved indefinitely due to the content violates the censorship laws.

Agreed. Not only that he was an Enigma, but also has been hinting at Sheng having children. Even said it practically in the previous episode, it’s Sheng who didn’t take it seriously 😂

Of course there will be. If the directing team
follows the novel (which so far they have been doing), there won’t be a lot of scenes for the second couple, but hey who knows.

I said that around week 3, that when Oktober is starting, we will probably all be sad about the fact that the series is ending, and want the series to have like 8 more episodes.

In the novel it was described as HY talking to Sheng Fang (SSY father) for about half an hour. I think they tried to edit it like that with the music. Its not specified in the novel what they talked about, just that SF asked a bunch of questions and that HY answered those questions with ease.

Quote out of the chapter ''SF questions were always laced with subtext, but HY replied in a soft voice, calm and composed, never deferential yet never disrespectful''. It apparently impressed SF.
