On The Love Lasts Two Minds Apr 27, 2020
It's dramas like this that make me avoid cdramas.
Crappy CGI in the opening shot; blatant wires in the next 90 seconds (I wish I was exaggerating), Mr. Weep-worthily perfect in one lead, with Ms. Plastic-glass-doll playing his dumb clumsy (and otherwise generally useless) yet "loveable" romantic interest. I didn't get 20 minutes in, but it was already so woe-is-them tragic I wanted to gag. I swear, I'm never sure if these people are actually serious, or if I missed the "we're taking the piss" note from the directors telling me it's a parody of all cliches ever.

Sorry, bit of a rant, I know, guess I just got my hopes up a bit after The Love Equations. I don't /want/ to be prejudiced towards Chinese content, but I just can't help avoiding them after so much of the above. Even if you try to laugh at it, it stops being funny after a certain point.

Ah, yet another drama I thought was going well, trashed for being lame and confusing in the comments. And here I thought it all made as much sense as it possibly could so far...

Ahah, first encounters with introverts I see XD I think the characters are both very quiet people, especially…
Omg, look at all this wholesome, reflective debating where we all maturely listen to each others' opinions: is this really the internet? It's almost like an actual book club ^^ er, drama club ^^"

Title When the Weather Is Fine Spoiler
I think selfish is going a bit far, I mean, finding out something like that is obviously going to be pretty damn…
I loved her f-you vibe too, I think we all did ^^
But I mean, if you went out with a friend and saw their ex, I think it'd be pretty normal to avoid them, unless they'd obviously made amends and were openly back to being friends (which is obviously not the case if they haven't seen each other).
Eun Seob's situation without her is a bit difficult, but he actually just returns to the way he was before their relationship. It was only after they started dating that his insomnia went away in the first place, so I'd argue that she's the medicine (not the cure) rather than the cause for his mental health, and it's never a good thing to have your mental health depend on someone else, so that's just a whole other problem that he needs to sort out. And Eun Seob did grow as a person, and heal over the duration of the series. He learned not to cut himself off, and to receive love from others, whether Hae Won was there or not.
Tbh I was half surprised she didn't just ask her aunt to leave, I was more befuddled than anything when she told him she was leaving, but then, like I said, it didn't click that they were breaking up until they were getting back together. ^^"

Ok honest opinion.. park min young and seo kang joon r basically two actors i really love watching but.... With…
Ahah, first encounters with introverts I see XD I think the characters are both very quiet people, especially at first, so their relationship may seem a little different, and Eun Seob still seems like a kid who can't look his crush in the eye at times, but I thought they were pretty cute.
I agree, would have been nice to see more of Jae Wook's romance, they were so funny together. I think that's intentional though, that the side characters were often quirky, to offset the introverted natures of the leads, and keep the show balanced.

Title When the Weather Is Fine Spoiler
Ok soooo she stayed with him, right?? Cause she said she was going to stay for a week only, but maybe I guess…
It wasn't the clearest, I agree, but they definitely got together at the end, which I assume means yes, bc the only reason they weren't together was her leaving, and the only reason for her really leaving was her aunt, who left. Either that or they went long distance so she could continue teaching, but even in that scenario, I imagine she eventually leaves Seoul to live with him.

Title When the Weather Is Fine Spoiler
I was absolutely loving this drama until episodes 14/15. Hae Won turned to be a selfish person who only cares…
I think selfish is going a bit far, I mean, finding out something like that is obviously going to be pretty damn traumatic, especially to someone who puts such a strong emphasis on trust.
Hae Won has always been presented as a strong individual who puts herself first when necessary, like when she cut off Bo Young. For better or worse, from the start she was a very forward person, who deals in absolutes when it comes to important relationships. It's not only Bo Young; when her mother turns up out of the blue, she directly asks her to leave because of her mother's impassivity since her father's death. When she realises she likes Eun Seob, she tells him almost right away, and again, later, very bluntly tells him she wants to sleep with him.
I'll be frank: I think she has a very healthy relationship with herself. She does not take shit, from anyone. I don't know why you'd call that selfish. And she does make a sort of peace with her aunt anyway, even if it is a bit peculiar to their family.
There is a split, I think it's one year, but it didn't really read as a sob story to me (I do know the cliche you mean, and I agree it's lame, but this barely blipped my radar). Tbh I didn't even realise they broke up til after, I literally thought they went long distance, that's how chill they were.
Look, you've come this far, you might as well finish it; even if you really don't like it as much as previous episodes, I doubt you're going to actively hate it or anything, and come on, you've got to see Hwi and the others one last time.

Title Return
Just finished watching the first episode...I get they had a lot to introduce, but it was such a chaotic mess I had to pause it half way through to sort my head out. Despite that it did seem interesting, but after seeing that the lead actress leaves halfway through in addition to the comments around that I don't think I'm going to bother...

Man, I mean, she can cry pretty tears. I hope she gets the chance to properly prove herself as an actress. What we saw was good, but I feel like we didn't get to see enough of her in HTBAF (for her as an actress, story wise I agree it was appropriate).
On Kim So Hye Apr 18, 2020
Person Kim So Hye
Wow, it feels like so long since we first saw the grade auditions for Produce 101, and So Hye told us she wanted to be an actress.
It must have been a tough choice to return to acting after IOI disbanded when she was already successfully on the path of being an idol. After IOI's success her path would have likely been set out for her if she wanted it, but she decided to essentially revert to novice status to return to her passion, and I feel like she's finally made it with How To Buy A Friend. It may be short, but it's punchy, and the quality is all there. Her acting really got me when she was crying tears in a silhouette shot, when she probably didn't need to at all (because you couldn't see her face, just the profile).
She's really proved her dedication to her work, and it feels good to see it paying off. Fighting!

Solid, cheers.

She's such an expressive baby! I was so surprised at the genuine performance they got from her; whoever was working with her from behind the scenes must be a baby whisperer ^^ She's so cute, I hope she appears in more dramas from time to time ><

Yes... This surely describes most of this genre "finests". Still hoping that after the whole lot of anticipating…
Yeah, I'll be watching at least a few more episodes too, but I do have to say I've lost all expectations for it. Fortunately I wasn't anticipating this in advance, so there wasn't a massive let down due to hype, but as I mentioned, I was hoping for more from OCN, as they've released some of my all time favourite dramas in the past couple years.

I usually love OCN, but this was so over the top, just sci fi heaped on testosterone.
So far it's one massively western cliche; cocky alpha fool gets wrecked, meets superteam Badass & Butthurt, gets his ass kicked and has his ego taken down a peg in the training arc, and eventually bonds with the team as he learns they're not all pricks after all, because they have sob stories too, so they all join the pity party together. OP 'finds himself' and returns to alpha status (maybe with a sacrifice or two along the way for extra vengeance fuel) just in time to beat the hell out of the bad guys and have a 'no don't do it!' moment at the end where someone tries to stop him becoming a murderer (even though they probably RIPed all the mobs on the way there, and the villain will take advantage of this distraction to kill someone) and then they all (those that are left) swagger off, sweaty and bloody into the backlit dust. Que cutscene to A) the happy ever after B) flexing how chill and swagger they are in their next mission.
I hope it shows a bit more promise in the second episode.
