Everything about Nam Ji Hyun is lovely, charming, and wonderful. The ticks, the quirks, the "lisp", the voice. Everything. Those who disagree are wrong. End of story.
I respect your taste (seen you around a lot of drama boards and basically always agree with you, and I love your Misaeng pic), but City Hunter was one of the most disappointing dramas I have ever seen. On the other hand, when I finished Healer, I went back and lowered my rating on every other drama I had seen, just so the 10/10 I gave Healer would mean more.
City Hunter's action choreography was more impressive. Seriously, it has the best fight scenes I've ever seen in a drama. But in all the more important things (plot, dialogue and, of course, characters) Healer is way, way above it.
Now, I fully expect you to react to this the way most people would: by sticking to your opinion even stronger. :P
But at least read my review to see why I feel this way. I explain in detail: http://mydramalist.com/profile/Arvis/review/21536
Only 2 episodes and I cannot stop thinking about this one. So so so adorable. Kim Seul Gi ruined me. I can't deal with that much cute.
The whole thing was like a roller coaster; fast, with lots of ups and downs and loops and I loved every minute of it. There may not be 2 episodes of kdrama as funny and cute as this. I give it a 9.5/10.
Complete. I gave it a 9/10. SO close to being a 9.5, but their utter mishandling of the revelatory Park So Dam didn't allow me to give it that score.
Jang Hyuk continues to be a gravity all his own. While watching, my wife said "It's not just Jang Hyuk this time, this whole show is really good". But about halfway through she cracked and said "I take back what I said, it's just him. He's just so amazing."
I don't know how comfortable I am with how obviously in love she is with Jang Hyuk. I'd be jealous if I weren't also kinda in love with him...
I definitely recommend this one for:
1. People who like twisty plots and mysteries
2. Jang Hyuk fans
It's super well-written and engrossing, and it will keep you hooked right until the end, despite the last two episodes being rushed.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go add as many Park So Dam dramas/films to my list as I can.
Really glad I picked this drama up from when it first aired, both out of anticipation of seeing JCW in a romantic…
I first saw Nam Ji Hyun in the first two episodes of Angel Eyes. It was my second-ever drama. I had only ever seen You're Beautiful before that. And even with that little amount of experience, I knew NJH was special. Really happy to see her end up where she should be: First Lead!
Just rewatch the scene where JW and Chief Bang are talking about the fake monk in front of her. Her line delivery in that scene is better and more interesting than any other leading lady would have done. She took what was basically a nothing moment for her character and played it very uniquely and charming. Really really good stuff from her.
I will gladly praise this drama, and defend its characters (if they deserve defending), but the latest two episodes…
I completely agree with everything you said. However, the relationship between JW and BH continues to be compelling and sweet, even through the frustration. The distance between them will only ruin if it drags on too long, and it really hasn't. Even last night they had a bunch of cute scenes together, and every romance needs obstacles to overcome. But I agree they could portray it a little less..... "drama-y"?
The only thing that really negatively affected my love for the show was Mr. Precognition. A total jump-the-shark moment for the show. I mean, JW had "dream visions" and such, but a dude who can honest-to-goodness predict the future? Come on. Keep that out of my shows, please.

That better not actually happen... :P

Kim Seul Gi, man..... I mean... man.

That said, I think he'll survive somehow.
