Still, Eun Hyuk is pityfull in my eyes. The situation he ended up in must be extremely hard to bear with as he…
You're so right. He has decided to try and make peace with Ji Wook despite knowing how much pain doing so will bring on himself. Most people would just run away from this situation, especially if they felt guilty. But he is letting his genuine love for his friend override his guilt and pain. That's amazing. He's a great, great guy who is trying to actually make up for his huge mistake instead of ignore it or shift the blame (like Yoo Jung). Love him.
I know the murderer is supposed to be the bad guy, but I can't help but hate Ji Hae and district attorney…
Nah, Carla, having your child murdered is like one of the worst things that can happen to a human being. I give DA Jang a free pass on turning into a psycho because of it. He said it himself "I have no one else to blame!" The dude's still celebrating his dead son's birthday, for goodness sake.
As for Ji Hae, she's also letting personal feelings cloud her judgment. Both of them need to turn their gazes inward, of course, but it's hard enough for shallow people to do that when they haven't lost someone they loved.
He totally brok3 my heart when he told her not to like him.
Ok, well, he was just told, by his ex, that it was his fault that she cheated on him. If it were me, I wouldn't exactly be in the mood for another relationship after hearing that.
I rewind the episode many times. I still dont get why SHE cheated on him. Ok so the 3 of them are childhood friends…
Nara is not an actress, so that explains the weird "death stares". Also, her motivations for cheating will be revealed in a future episode. I expect them to be inadequate, of course.
Yoo Jung... is actually really problematically shameless. I thought I would like her attitude (being shameless,…
TBF, Yoo Jung was told that Bong Hee killed someone, so... an interrogation makes sense. She thinks a murderer is dating her ex and childhood friend. Wouldn't you be worried?
So I'm on the fourth episode, and I love how relatable the characters are! "This ally is so dark...like…
Agreed. I was thinking about this concept when Bong Hee called him her hero and 'better than Iron Man' and Ji Wook's reaction was ".......really?" with a bit of a smile. That came literally SECONDS after he said "Let's never see each other again."
In dramaland, that line is always final and ends a scene. But in reality, people can keep talking. And no human blows 100% hot or cold. There are always fluctuations, even in the moment, and that was cool to see from a drama character.
I love the one sided love of Eun Hyuk for Wook lol
Starting to wonder if perhaps he slept with her without knowing she was Ji Wook's GF, somehow. It's the only way, for now, that I'll buy that he's the one who she cheated with.
Finished up Tomorrow With You! Please do not keep reading if you do not want to be massively spoiled on the plot.
*ahem*
I KNEW that other time traveler was going to sacrifice himself.
As far as production value goes, this is one of the best dramas I've ever seen. It was shot and acted beautifully, with way more "real life" put into each scene than you normally get in kdrama (which is weird, considering how unrealistic the core of the plot was). I thought the casting was fantastic. A lot of the major roles were relative unknowns (or just new to drama), which I thought helped add to the feel of them being "normal, everyday people" but caught up in extraordinary circumstances. Besides the two leads, the only really well-known drama actor in a major role was, of course, the other time traveler (not a normal everyday person). :P
The story itself was really great, and they played with time travel in very interesting ways. The reunion between the two leads after two years of separation was incredibly emotionally resonant. That was masterfully done, even if the temporary loss of his powers was never explained.
However, the sheer stupidity of the male lead really really brings the whole thing down a point or two. At no point in the entire 16 episodes did I fully buy into many of his motivations; specifically, the ones surrounding his lack of communication. I get that he married her without loving her, but that alone was not sufficient reason for him to constantly keep her in the dark and lie to her over and over and over. The hoops he jumped through to hide the truth from her were way more difficult and problematic than just being straightforward from the beginning. And there was basically nothing preventing him from being straightforward anyways.
On top of that, the climactic confrontation with the villain (who was incredible) had literally no reason to happen at all. Seriously. Before So Joon got on the train, he was told Ma Rin was safe. He also knew the cops were there to take the villain down. So what was his motivation for getting on the train? He had none. At least not any good or believable motivation. He literally could have just left and not put himself in danger or disappear at all. For being the climax of the show, that was sloppily done and really took me out of the experience.
Overall, though, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. And I do want to make sure I praise the music, as well, which was basically on a whole other level from what I expect from drama.
