I agree with this. Very good ep 1, alright ep 2. Ep 3-5 was unbearable esp with all the scheming going on behind everyone's back. Ep 7 reveal and explanation was so half arsed. Then the whole Kiho's father drama is unbearbly annoying. I'll finish this still but 8.6 is very undeserved rating for this imo, it should be at most 7.5-8.

Yeah I gave the 2nd ep a chance because of KYJ as well. IDK it just feels so generic and unremarkable though. KYJ is really good and the production is good, but SK's perf leaves much to be desired and the writing is just forgettable.

Which makes her even worse as a person as she let that happen under her watch and did nothing to stop it if she knew about it. Maybe she didn't know about it but I just can't accept her overlooking the abuse her older son had to bear under her watch while she let the one sided rivalry between her sons fester. So far I've seen not a figment of regret about this from her side. So for now I do not like her character at all, if it's revealed that she didn't know about these abuse then maybe I'll stand corrected depending on the situation.

The show seems to have a common theme about how favouritism is abusive and creates massive discord in families as well. All the 3 families shown so far have had mothers who favour one child over the another and it's creating tension and discord in their respective family (Hyosim's fam, Hyosung's fam and the Kang family).

I actually liked the addition of Eunyu. The main problem I had with Twinkling Watermelon was the final ep was rushed. It needed at least 1 more episode to wrap up properly. But the performances were so good, that I could gloss over it.

Moving doesn't have a ML though? It's an ensemble. I assume you're referring to Jungha's character? For one he's not a "loser" and Go Youn Jung's character is not a "popular" girl by any means. She was an outcast. And their relationship never develops past friendship. And after like ep 5 or 6, the narration focus on the adult characters and their histories are explored.
