Excellent drama. Just the right amount of drama and humor. Loved all the actors--So Ji Sub, Shin Min Ah are favorites, and Henry Lau was perfect in his role and added a lot of his own style to this show! (He is so musically talented--I would love to see him star in his own drama--something like "Tomorrow's Cantabile.") Great job everyone--really good ending too! I will recommend this drama to all my friends--and you! I give it a rating of 9.5 out of 10.
Hi Henry! I was so surprised to see you in the drama "Oh My Venus" with So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah. I recognized you right away because I found you on you tube last year playing the piano with Yiruma and the violin in other performances! You are amazing and I am definitely a fan!! I watch every you tube video I can find and hope to see you in many more. Will you be performing in the states (especially Southern California) soon? I would love to see you in a live performance. I've been to KCon once in Los Angeles. I would be sure to go again if I knew you would be there. You are so adorable and very talented. Take care and all my very best to you. (from Lana)
So Ji Sub is here that's enough for me.. I watched the Chinese version it was good. I'll watch the korean also…
I don't usually like sad dramas and I don't know how I found this one, but now I am a fan of So Ji Sub and have watched this a few times. I can't describe how amazing this drama is. You should watch it if you haven't. I gave it 10/10. What is the name of the Chinese version? Thanks.
Not for me, got 8 eps in before i gave up on it. the show has this 'depressive/dark' feeling to it that i can't…
Normally I would agree with you and it does have an element of that. I actually hate the way they make movies these days all dark and depressing (filming and storyline). But having said that, there are so many other elements that make this drama intriguing. The actors are really good and the costumes and scenery are excellent. I would say that it definitely has some serious and more mature content. But I am very drawn to this one somehow. There are lighter and hopeful elements also. I rated this 10 /10.
I loved this drama. Does anyone have anymore historical Chinese ones like this one? I've seen almost everything…
Have you seen Tribes and Empires? I watched it 2-1/2 times (second time with friends) before they abruptly closed Dramafever. So now I have to find it elsewhere.
Just finished this drama series for the second time. It's just as good as the first time I saw it! If you haven't seen it, you definitely should. Loved the storyline, really good actors, etc. I rated it 10 out of 10!
I love Chinese Dramas and watch everything I can. I know this one has good ratings, but I tried the first few episodes and I just can't get into it. It is not very realistic, even by magical, historical standards. I don't know what to say. Maybe I just need to watch more episodes, but that's rather disappointing. I just finished "Ever Night" and it was one of the best I've seen.
Does anyone know the name of the song in episode 59 at about 36 minutes? Also, do you know where I can purchase the OST for Ever Night? The music is sooo good! Thank you.
I am currently watching episode 28. It took until episode 3 to really get interested and now I like it (actors, costumes, plot so far) but I do have to say that it is a struggle because it seems so slow. I almost feel like it's slow motion and I just want to speed it up a notch or two. I am concerned that 42 more episodes are just going to drag. So far, there isn't a lot of sustainable action and the music is also very lagging.
I love watching “historical” type dramas and I really loved this one. I have watched “Tribes and Empires” 2 -1/2 times. I was forced to stop when DramaFever shut down. I was watching with some friends and we really want to see this again. Does anyone know where I can watch this drama now with English subs? Thanks so much!
This is a very good drama. Much better than I expected. The costumes and sets were very well done and the actors were good also. The ending was good and sad in places but appropriate. I felt satisfied in the end and glad that I watched this. I would give this an 8.9 rating. I know some people don't like to watch long dramas, but I don't really mind. I'm going to be watching something anyway so as long as it keeps my interest, that's the most important thing. And I also just love watching the historical dramas. It's worth a watch--Enjoy!
I love your acting and want to see you in more dramas and movies, but I must say that I hated the devastating ending in “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes.” You would have been so much more memorable if it had been a positive dramatic ending (not meaning a fluffy one). Take care and I wish you all the best!
This drama deserves an award. there were things in the storyline where i thought the writers could have done a…
I really don’t know how anyone could “like “this ending. It was so sad, tragic and devastating. It may have fit with the overall drama in the end, but what’s to like?
I feel that TRAGEDY should always be listed as the first tag. I have a lot of respect for all the actors, but I would never have watched this if I knew before what it was about. I want to watch shows that make my life better—there is already too much tragedy in this world. You see it every day on the news. I don’t want to watch dramas that leave me devastated at the end. That’s not how I want to spend the hours of my life. There needs to be more warnings before you start a drama of this type. I confess that I do like feel-good stories and happy endings. I also like well-written, intriguing mysteries and melodramas. But there has to be hope in the end!
Thanks for the list, but it would really be great if you good add the drama rating next to the name so that I don't have to click on every single one. Thanks anyway.
Unbelieveable ending--this drama was so good. I rate this 10 out of 10. Can't wait for season 2 but I hope it's the same actors or i will be very disappointed!
Tribes and Empires?
