the ice makes it extra romantic warm and beautiful to watch . . . Ikemen with a mustache.
This looks interesting, but I really don't like how they always slap a moustache on a guy to make him look older (but it almost never looks better). I'm looking forward to watching it.
Kind of cute storyline. Adorable actors. How much can you do with only 45 minutes? It did seem like an advertisement promo. I don't really like being sold to when I'm looking for entertainment. I would like to see Lee Min Ho in a drama that takes advantage of his full talents (like "Heirs" or "City Hunter" but with a very satisfying ending.) As far as negative comments that have been made, my response is give him a break. No one is perfect when they start out and it takes a lot of time to perfect your talents (it's always a work in progress). And no, I don't feel that he is over-rated.
I liked this drama and would definitely recommend it. The actors were good (except the royal assistant, Song Bang Yeong, went way too overboard trying to be dramatic or funny but wasn't at all. I just cringed every time he opened his mouth--sorry). The cinematography was beautiful and I liked most of the music although sometimes it seemed a little too much or inappropriate for the scene. (Sometimes no music at all can make a scene seem much more poignant/realistic.) The story sequence started out great but then seemed to get a little messy/confused in the middle. For the most part, the drama did end strong overall, although I felt that the main female character became much weaker the last half of the story and also the sister's part and character could have been better developed. (Overall I rated this drama 8.0 out of 10.)
BTW, MDL--why can I no longer see 10 stars for the rating on the initial screen? And will I be able to write my own personal notes without having them truncated/deleted? (Not sure where else to post these comments.)
Thanks so much! PS Sometimes the video quality on youtube can be very bad, but NOT in this case. Except for dealing with the advertisements, the video and translation is very good. Thank you.
I just realized that he was in “Bu Bu Jing Xin” with Cecelia Lu and all those other amazing Brothers—now one of my favorite dramas. I really wish they would redo that sequel. I liked the storyline but the direction/execution was so poorly done and very grainy picture.
Gene Xin Lin is so good as Yuen Yue in “Princess Agents,” but I have gotten half way through the drama and they stopped subbing it—so frustrating! ( although after reading some of the comments, I think I’m afraid to see the ending!—if I ever do)
Except for the first episode which was way too savage and gruesome, the next episodes are very intriguing. Does anyone know where you can watch the last half of the drama with English subtitles? Thanks so much.
Can anyone tell me if all the episodes have been subtitled? I'm so disappointed that I have watched two nice long historical dramas ("Princess of Lan Ling" and "Princess Agents") and both have stopped the subtitles halfway through the episodes. I want to be careful not to have that situation again. Thank you.
This is a brilliant movie— not only for it’s realistic storyline and excellent directing and cinematography, but also for the charisma between the leads and all of the actors. And the music is ridiculously well-written—to say the least! Even though it is for mature audiences and has explicit love scenes, the hilarious comedy, tenderness and sincerity give this drama a unique balance. It’s about being bold and facing reality in our lives. Even though it was a bit shocking at first with some harsh language, I like this movie more every time I watch it. It is very creative, poetic and real. Truly brilliant with an amazing ending! PS be sure to watch through the credits (: I still give it a rating of 9.5 out of 10.
I have read many of the comments here, watched the first episode and will watch a few more to get a better sense of this drama. The cinematography looks good, the actors look good, but what bothers me so far is the storyline. I like strong female (and male) leads who are compassionate and care about others in the world and not just themselves. But I have to say that the barbarism and viciousness at the outset of this drama is really disturbing. I like to see heroes and heroines doing good for humanity but is it necessary to show the horrific depths of depravity to this level that society/humans could sink to? Is it possible? I ask myself if these are the images and thoughts I want put into my mind. Does it help to make me a better person, or the world we live in a better place? What is the message or revelations? What am I learning? It reminds me of the Roman Empire that valued power so much but eventually destroyed itself. They would gather in giant coliseums to watch people murder each other or be torn apart by vicious wild animals. How can that be considered entertainment?!
It seems that I watch this "classic" every 1 to 1.5 years. It is sooo good. Every part of the storyline is excellent and I love the actors. The little boy is the cutest thing in the world and the charisma of the other actors really works out well. Great choice of actors! All I can say at this point is -- if you haven't seen this drama yet, you really shouldn't miss it. I gave it a 9.5 instead of 10 because even though the music is okay, sometimes it's a bit loud and becomes annoying.
I like this drama but all the problems would be easily solved if Mu Cheng had a backbone and spoke up
It's a sign of abuse and fear. She also wanted to protect those she loved, although there were times where she didn't do too badly as far as speaking her mind.
This was a very well-directed, dark and ironic movie. I do not seek out these types of "dramas" although it was well put together. It was very violent, depressing, sadistic and gory. Not a happy ending although perhaps meaningful--or at least with a message. Definitely not a movie for children. I gave it a 7.8 out of 10 rating. I would not re-watch it.
I just wanted to say, regarding the new layout of kisskh, that I am not feeling comfortable at all with the new arrangement. There seems to be a lot more advertising and I have lost all of my personal notes that I have been keeping for years on each drama. I am really disappointed to lose the capability to create my own private notes for myself ) : in addition to the valuable (to me) information that I had carefully noted. The least MDL could do is warn us and allow us some way of downloading it first before getting rid of it. Also, I prefer the 10 star rating for better accuracy vs. the 5 star--actually it won't even let me click on the stars, it just times out.
I have to agree with a lot of comments here that this drama really is under-rated. I give it at least an 8.0 out of 10. I was wondering how this drama would hold my interest for 20 episodes but it was never an issue. The story and actors were good. I liked the second couple which made the story even more interesting. Although I wouldn't normally watch something having to do with a beauty pageant, I would say this drama is worth watching with a good ending. Try it--you'll know within a few episodes.
Regarding the list above, the only dramas I did not see were the "Wild Chives..." and "D-Day." The drama "Iris" was okay until the end and now I absolutely hate it (sorry), and I also didn't like "Playful Kiss" (although one of the main actors was my favorite in "Boys Over Flowers." "Playful Kiss was just too chauvinistic for me--and the little brother was ridiculous! But anyway, there are many, many other good ones (I should make a list--smile)! For starters, look for "Empress Ki," --an excellent, adventurous historical drama. Enjoy!
