It's a Chinese production but they cast Korean actors, Best Lover is another example,
Generally it's a way to draw in other audiences. Capitalize on their popularity from other markets and countries. Sometimes it's also a funding/sponsor grab. You fund me, I cast your actor.
I haven’t started this yet and was worried about the subs but I’m glad to know they aren’t as bad as MGTV…
Yea, it mainly feels like theyre being done by someone still learning. So i was more thinking “they probably meant this” or “ooh, messed up your tenses i see” rather than “That makes no sense at all. Hopefully i have enough context clues without whatever that dialogue was supposed to be.”
Eh. The acting is pretty awkward. And the subtitles aren’t the best (not MGTV-level bad though, it just feels like the word choice and flow could be better).
But I’m pretty sure we’ve all watched (and potentially enjoyed) dramas that were worse in those regards.
What gets me is how inconsistent the characters are written. And not just compared to their characters in Tonhon Chonlatee, but even isolated to this first episode.
Like Ai. What was the point of the whole beginning set of scenes if he’s just gonna be a hopeless romantic/lovestruck pouty puppy? Where’s the promiscuous player? The anger issues? Choose one! Or at least do a gradual transition between them.
But that’s to be expected, i guess. The trailer also felt pretty inconsistent in tone. Especially when compared to this first episode.
Where is it airing?I couldn't find it anywhere, neither the name of it
Officially it's on IQIYI. For regions without IQIYI, i'd imagine it would be on Youtube (as most of the projects from that studio are), but I'm not sure.
There's an hour delay before streaming for that countdown. That countdown is when it airs on GMM25 channel. An hour later, it goes up on streaming platforms for re-runs.
can you share the IQ direct link please of episode 7?
If you're in an area that doesnt have it on IQIYI, you can watch it free and officially on the MeMindY youtube channel. And cut scenes on the MeMindY uncensored channel.
And if you have a vpn, you can also watch it there - you just need to change your location.
I hate when ppl compare this series with KP i mean ik we have very few bl dramas with good storyline but u can't…
For real. You can compliment something without comparing. You can criticize something without comparing.
Besides there being prominent intimacy and some less-than-legal subplots, there really isnt anything to compare between KP and Love in the Air. They are 2 very different series made for 2 different tastes/audiences. Look, the relationship dynamics arent even the same.
Looking for similar shows/films!I don't mean the plot in particular, but more like general vibe/aesthetics
I definitely get S.O.S. vibes in a lot of aspects.
The color imagery and symbolism. The story intermissions where the MC is standing alone in a setting effectively calling for help. The serious and reflective tone surrounding the characters and their stories. A semi-open ending to make viewers wonder about where their lives continue to go after that brief time period that changed them.
Which is common. They have to get their sponsors in line, write the script, secure locations, wait for actor availability, wait for director availability. Negotiate streaming platform contracts. Not to mention that it’s respectful not to promote 2 series at the same time featuring the same cast (such as the leads from DSN just about to air another series, who would likely be reoccurring support cast in this series). As well as not to promote multiple of their own series at the same time (Love in the Air still being airing).
This is not so old that there is cause for concern. It’s not even been a year. And if they were going back on it, MeMindY probably wouldve took down thw content just like they did for the twin’s branchoff drama.
The ending is rushed. And second lead syndrome (Neo's character) is real. But otherwise a pretty decent watch. I would say it's worth giving it a shot. I love Chonlatee's character and Ai x Nai (who are the focus of the branchoff that just started airing - different cast though).
Sometimes it's also a funding/sponsor grab. You fund me, I cast your actor.
