So....I finally decided to watch this one.......Is SmartBoom really a dead ship? Is there not even a 1% chance…
It's never a 100% sure thing. This industry can shift and change, contracts expire or get terminated, and the appeal of reunions is well-documented.
Several "dead ships" have reunited (SingtoKrist being perhaps one of the most popular). Other pairs have mentioned offhandedly that they wouldn't mind coming back together for the right opportunity.
And it doesn't seem like Smart and Boom are on bad terms with each other. From what I can glean from all the press statements, it sounds like this situation arose from the side of one or both of their management companies and the producer. But ofc, that is speculation. We might never know what truly went down behind-the-scenes.
But as for SmartBoom, since I do not see signs of them being on bad terms, I think it's appropriate to say "never say never." But I do think it's rude to be pestering them in the meantime. Besides, I've always been of the belief that being saddled in the same pairing project after project after project can impede their growth.
I will personally continue to hope for another project for these 2 together, and i will also be rooting for their success independently of each other in the meantime.
Not sure about Instagram, but i know of some other groups:The MDL GL Drama Lovers Club over in forumshttps://kisskh.at/discussions/general-asia-forum/91593-gl-drama-lovers-cluband…

There were instructions in the greeting message. You just have to click a certain emoji role to agree to the rules of the server.

There’s my server, overlapping with the forum club, but with some different members and a wider scope of GL coverage than MDL: GL Fandom Cafe: https://discord.gg/hxnBg42Pp3
GMMTV definitely heard the demand lol. And seen the gauntlets thrown from other companies who have stated dedication to their GL content.
Can't help but wonder though if theyre spreading themselves too thin with the overall number of productions? They are a mere daily timeslot rather than a whole channel. Many are probably going to be streaming only, on paid platforms.
My beautiful View is finally the lead! I’ve seen her in many roles, so I know she can act. That’s why I haven’t…
Im torn. Happy for her... but this is a shared universe with Whale Store. We're in the same production company, why not keep the actress that was already connected to the character?
The only reason why these pics were uploaded on here in 2022 was because i was trying to upload pics for the characters that didnt have pics up here on mdl bc they were so minor.
Mashii ended her contract with K11D in September, so whether this is cancelled, recast, or will be using her in a freelance capacity is definitely a question.
First Cinemalaya, then some smaller screenings across the Philipinnes, and next up is the QCinema International Film Festival Main Competition (Asian Next Wave) Nov. 14-23rd
Filipino GL film "Open Endings" entered the film festival circuit in October. There is no news yet on streaming plans.
> Open Endings is tender, funny, a little unhinged, and full of yearning. It’s a story about holding on to the people who’ve seen you through every version of yourself, and stayed.
__Director's Statement:__ OPEN ENDINGS comes from a personal place: a need to explore the kinds of queer relationships we rarely see on screen. As a queer woman in my 30s living in the Philippines, I often search for stories that mirror the life I know: soft, messy, complicated. Stories that reflect the quiet, uncertain parts of adulthood. This film leans into those grey areas: when things aren’t simple anymore, when relationships shift, labels blur, and friendship becomes the most lasting kind of intimacy. For many queer women, that uniquely intimate bond is what holds us through heartbreak, change, and everything in between. What I want to show is that staying connected, even after love takes a different shape, is still a love story. That’s what OPEN ENDINGS is really about. I hope this film adds something meaningful to the growing conversation around queer stories in Philippine cinema. It’s not perfect, but it’s honest—just one version of what love can look like. There’s still so much more to tell. So let’s keep making space for queer stories that feel real and true.
__Cast:__ (Remaining edits pending) - Janella Salvador (Darna; Under Parallel Skies) - Jasmine Curtis-Smith (Baka Bukas (https://kisskh.at/27818-baka-bukas); Descendants of the Sun Philippines) - Klea Pineda (Encantadia) - Leanne Mamonong (Songs for Selina; Sabagay Life)
