Do I need to watch Khun Chai Ratchanon in order to watch this?
I think there will be linkages that you could benefit from watching the parents' story. But you SHOULD be able to watch it independently from what i've been reading. These are not true prequels/sequels but rather like a spinoff that occurs at a later time. We're looking at different characters, going through a different story.
If you want to be in-the-know during references about the family (essentially supporting cast here), watch the prequels. But, right now, I don't think you will NEED to to understand the story that THESE dramas are telling.
This drama PROJECT is a Thai romcom (set in Japan) called "Kiseki: Season of Miracles" and is not connected to "Kiseki: Dear To Me" (Taiwanese drama). These dramas were announced around the same time, if I remember correctly, so their titles are likely coincidental. It is not a sequel. It is not a version. It is not a remake. Just another drama that shares a similar name to another drama.
(*conspiratory mumble* but the timing of the release date announcement is probably not a coincidence)
Chapter 1 is also supposed to air in February as well and appears to be a "prologue"/prequel to this one. (There's a lot of confusion around what's going on, as the order of announcements is a bit wonky, so sit tight).
Note: Similar examples of drama projects are En Of Love, Buddy Line Y Animal (of which Dinosaur Love was part of), Midnight Series

And i havent read the book. Nor have I sought out any spoilers from the book (i wouldnt apply them here anyway since they mightve changed stuff, like most adaptations). From what I am seeing, as a first time watcher with no novel insights, is those 2 have an agenda, but it's not sabotage. 🤷♀️
"step" requires marriage. It's simply either an "adoptive" relationship or a "foster" relationship between all of them. But regardless, it seems that Charlie and Jeff see themselves as brothers, even if not by blood. Meanwhile Neither Charlie or Jeff have any ties to Babe in any other capacity or context than having the same caregiver/trainer. They never got to know each other in that capacity.
They may be foster related (and I'm leaning towards foster rather than adopted) legally, but it's no different than being placed in some child factory or something (socially).

Even without the book, Charlie and Jeff's actions do not line up with what Tony would have wanted out of their involvement. They appear to have some other motive besides sabotage.
They're in post production right now. Made a weibo post on July 2nd about the visual editing.
They posted some more behind the scenes photos in august, and a happy birthday post for He Lei in October. But nothing since. Seems to still be in post-production, but I don't know what exact stage.
