Their fathers start an affair and run away together. Their mothers then start seeing each other (possibly to comfort each other?)(this isn't mentioned in the overall synopsis, so this might get revealed much later in the story)

The 2 girls aren't initially on good terms (presumably because of their fathers breaking up their families) and resist their feelings in person (on behalf of their families' shared history/problem?)
It sounds very finicky (and that's if they stay faithful to the novel). It doesnt sound like any of them are married, and all their romances start around the same time (from what I understand of the synopsis, could be wrong). So, same vein but no. People who avoid stepsibling romances would probably be best off avoiding this though.
