There was a press conference on Dec 24th. This event also opened up ticket-presales. This MOVIE will be released simultaneously in cinemas and internationally on Metaverse (reportedly, the first film to do so).
Word on the street is that this should be getting released Feb 14th, 2023.
sometimes production gives dates and they don't come out at that date, so it might have changed
It seems like December 24th was the press conference and ticket pre-sale. The movie will premier simultaneously in cinemas and internationally on meta-verse.
It was only solidly confirmed in Mar 2022 (pretty sure it was just discussion before then), too soon to say it was cancelled. All of their other planned 2022 titles were delayed as well and have only recently just started moving forward. It's a co-production between 2 companies, so there were probably some complications behind-the-scenes.
Anybody else feel bad for that 3rd performer? With absolutely 0 leis for his performance. He's literally just there to balance out Kuea and Nuer. Like, that's it.
Thank you for saying that. 😁With the hinting at romance so early in this series, I was one of those who kept…
Sometimes, when watching airing dramas, you need to take a step back and look at what is actually happening storywise, as opposed to what you expected/hoped for. I caught on to the fact that this was a life drama pretty early on. But that's because I watch quite a number of them. Those that aren't that familiar, and thus weren't able to adjust to the direction the drama actually took, would naturally be disappointed. So I hope that I can help in that regard. Because it is actually a good story. But it's a good life story, not a romance.
I think the first and foremost thing viewers need to know coming into this drama, is that this is not a romance drama. It is a life drama with a few romance plots. It's slow. It's meandering. There's not a lot of focus on developing romance. It's just about all on the many mains finding their way through life. From elementary to high school to university to working life. On their relationships between each other, their romantic partners, and their family. And how their respective character flaws need to be overtaken before they can get what they want.
If you're coming in expecting your typical BL, you'll be sorely disappointed. Life/Slice-of-life is not for everyone. So if that genre is not for you, I highly recommend skipping.
Yes. RamKing and MekBoss are an absolute joy. But RamKing is left at an open ending, as they were going to be…
Same with his character in Cutie Pie that people went crazy over - it leaned into him being mixed and speaking English fluently. That's probably gonna be the type roles he's gonna get for a while - which is most likely to be support roles, rather than main ones.
But eh. It's possible I'll be wrong. Especially if Step By Step and other recent/upcoming releases inspires a desire for romances involving a foreigner/mixed individual. Then other companies may try to hop on the trend and Perth would be up for grabs.
But regardless, I see him sticking around for a while. As long as he continues to want to do so, that is. Afterall, he didn't plan to be an actor.

There's a lot that runs in tricky territory with that. On one hand, Perth made quite a splash with both of his recent support roles. And he's more fluent and confident with his Thai. His existing fans are very enthusiastic.
But at the end of the day, he is mixed. And he looks it. Entertainment industries tend to stick to one set image, and they are the ones who get main roles. Especially from the major production companies. It's also why most Thai actors have nearly the same skin tone. And why colorism is so prevalent in the literature. There's also the question of how is his accent when speaking Thai, to a native Thai speaker?
There is some progress. But it's very step-by-step. Unless he gets in with the right production company, it might be awhile till he gets a main role. Or if he gets a role that would lean into him being mixed (like My Engineer did - Ram was mixed).

This is apparently part of a larger contest. Which could possibly explain why there was a delay in release. Afterall, this doesn't appear to be one cohesive movie, but rather 4 movies together.
