I don't get why this show only has a 7.8 rating. Just because it's not romance comedy or because you're sensitive…
It was fascinating, I was entranced by it, completely mesmerised - especially by the OL mask girl... but it touches on the grotesque. It takes a nasty swipe at things behind the metaphoric masks we see every day... is K-pop demonic? How many real-life idols were the inspiration behind the abominable 'idol' lookalike? The hypocrisy of religion. Mothers. Corruption. Just daring to touch these subjects in earnest can get it down-voted imo.
I'd like to congratulate Netflix on this one, it was pretty interesting all the way through, lots of messages along the way. I'd have liked to see more of the original mask girl, I liked her a lot and saw her core in all her incarnations, well played to all 4 actresses (including the little one!) to get her character on point. But one thing stood out, not drama-wise but perhaps a breakthrough in presentation - we got very close to the dreaded 6-episode unfinished, half-story that we all drop... but then they cranked it up to 7 and actually finished it!! Brilliant, is Netflix listening to us? Kudos. Very entertaining and out there.
Edit: Oh, one more thing to credit Netflix for... no unnecessary nudity
Well first 2 - 4 episodes werent getting the hype this drama deserved domestically or internationally IMO the…
Thankfully? Millions of people thought the same as you right from the beginning. Remember, if you form an opinion, any opinion, you're not alone, a ton of others did the same. None of us are special in noticing if a drama's good. Nothing deserves any more than it gets. Hype. Ratings. Whatever. All you're doing is trying to point out that you liked it from the start. Congratulations š
Wonder why it's set to 18+, this is closer to a 12
South Korea has its own rating system. It's different to the west because the west is decadent. What you consider to be a 12 is because you (and me, I'm not preaching) live in a decadent society.

I didn't see it like that, goes to show, perspectives and all. Half of it was her doing her job, and I think she was interested that he never lied. That's why they played the clip from Master's Sun.
My Dearest is brilliant. That scene with the herb baskets just epitomised the charm of it amidst the backdrop of such harrowing and realistic battle. Whilst watching I felt the sheer misery of war and the joy of human warmth.
This is a quality drama āunderstandable popularity , but why is My lovely liar so popularā itās truly beyond…
MLL is well written, there are lots of lovely side issues where the unravelling of everyday lies is insightful and emotional... Kim So-hyun is good... the cast is good, there are some witty jokes. The weak point is ML is clearly in over his head, he's a rookie actor (he appears to have idol fans), so the PD needs to cut his screen time to a minimum to prevent the drama spiralling. He got exposed in ep.5 as you noted below, those romance scenes almost bombed because of his rabbit-in-the-headlights expression - so often.
Jo In Sung is so handsome and an excellent actor. I love watching him in all kinds of comedies and dramas.
He used to enjoy acting... until he had to be good š Imagine any other profession where you could say that? I used to enjoy being a doctor, but then I actually had to save people's lives. I used to enjoy driving a bus, but then they told me I wasn't allowed to drift around corners and pile into pedestrians.
What's the point of putting this kind of spoiler in the effing title?
Totally - I was going to give credit for hiding spoilers in the article, but then there's the title and photos - probably not what a true drama fan wants to see in advance.
This drama is sort of on those lines, but this time it's good, well written and acted, and absolutely fascinating.
Edited, even by my standards, careless wording.
