I'm happy Amazon's delving into k-dramas. I wish they'd understand how to write Korean names. Also the director of Payback is listed as working on 3 titles, but they're just 3 variations of the same work. Get your act together Amazon, your tech was never great, you've revamped your app, it's still lacking, seems to have no capacity for international correctness, still, after all this time. There's a world outside the USA ffs! Netflix is king when it comes to international features, right from the beginning.

I'm interested to see your opinion, is it the first time you've seen Ha Ji-won? If so, I understand your opinion, of course she's reached her mid 40s now, she's moving into a new phase. She's a legend by reputation, in her younger days she was effervescent and pretty with a mean gaze down the barrel of a pistol or blade of a sword, mostly she played the spunky poor girl, I believe CC was her first chaebol. Anyway, she's earned her reputation, no way is she overrated. Not sure what surgery you spotted, she looks a little different now but maybe that's just age?... her skin looks a little (too) fair I suppose, she had her teeth straightened after her horror queen days, I don't see anything major. Have you seen Secret Garden? Empress Ki? Hwang Jin-yi? All incredible. Secret Garden still one of the best dramas I've seen, maybe the best leading couple ever. Maybe the best ever FL character depiction ever, I absolutely loved her and still do. If you judge her on Curtain Call alone where she was a stand-in, naturally it's not in the league of her top dramas, most aren't, and it looks like there were compromises all over the place - none of the characters were written to stand out, it was a subdued affair - no alarms and no surprises, like the kids' jet coaster at a theme park, just mellow but enjoyable!

Totally agree, there's nothing better than a well made drama with actors that enrich and embody the characters - and yes, you sort of feel part of their success when you're there before they received the plaudits. I watched episode 1 of BE ages ago, I'll go back to it - must admit the reason I stopped is that I'm not convinced by YJG, not that I don't like him, just I find it hard to buy into his characters, I have to push myself past it every time.

I like her. I think she's built a reputation in a short time where actors of SJK's stature want to work with her. There are some actors (names withheld) who don't seem to have much talent but their agent has good connections or pay to get their clients cast... and turn up all over the place. I really think that's not the case here, Choi Sung Eun is getting places based on her talent, the way it should be.
