crazy how ppl victimized her ex boyfriend when he was trying to stop the scandal from going further and it was…
We live in a funny world where different standards are applied to different people. And somehow it clearly happens and is accepted by the majority, otherwise things would have changed by now.
Sometimes the tiniest things blow up and ruin someone's career out of nowhere. And other times, vile shit is proven and yet someone manages to remain unaffected and makes a comeback without people batting an eye.
I'm sure she'll come back soon enough and her career will pick up again. Her situation isn't nearly bad enough to warrant her career ending.
Is this drama really worth the hype? Currently on ep 7 and I find the story to be dragging and many loopholes.…
I just finished it. I would say the story is nothing special at all. If you're going to watch it, you watch it for the romance. If the romance isn't hitting for you, then there's nothing to see imo. Just skip the other scenes if you want. For me, the romance was enough to carry me through. Zhao Liying is always a joy to watch.
I think an awful ending is some kind of achievement for a cdrama writer.
lmao you know this honestly seems so true ive watched countless cn dramas and now ive read countless cn novels and they just hate doing endings properly either way too rushed, or they need to be unhappy they hate doing good endings, despite spending so much time leading up to that ending it still baffles me why
Man. I still think about how they severely dropped the ball on this show. Was SO GOOD, until it wasn’t.
I've watched this quite a few times now. Ofc I skip a lot of the unnecessary nonsense and focus on the main characters.~ And even now, I still don't understand the ending. I think you must need 200iq or something in order to do so...
I dislike her too. Profoundly. I'm at episode 20 and I'm disgusted by her more and more each episode. The way…
Towards the end, like the final arc, she starts believing in him a little. But it was too late. The overall story is a huge mess. Also it doesn't get any better. If anything the longer it goes, the worse it gets lol. I think the start of the drama was the strongest part. And the ending isn't satisfying either btw. If I were you, I'd skip useless scenes and just finish asap.
Is there any character, whether in a drama or novel, more loving, understanding, and selfless than Si Feng? If you have any recommendations, please comment.
You are not the only one. I put the drama on hold, because I simply couldn't stand her character any more. There…
Honestly, I watched this years ago so I can't remember much. But I know there is sadness in the drama. The MC suffers iirc. But it probably wasn't anything like TTEOTM, or I would have remembered finding it annoying. Anyways, I'm going to rewatch it so I can give you a fresh opinion on the drama when I'm done.

You reminded me, I need to watch Love You Seven Times sometime soon too.
And, yes, I remember reading somewhere that this was a 60 something episode drama which had to be cut down. Either way the flow/pace of the drama is honestly terrible, and it only gets worse in the last 10 episodes. I've now finished the drama (because I'm a masochist) and it wasn't worth it at all lmao. Nah, I did get some joy out of it but it's not worth your time tbh when you can watch better things.
Idk why xianxia dramas rely so heavily on misunderstandings to drive the plot. If it's done well, then a misunderstanding can work once, but when you keep using it again and again, then it just becomes stupid. And as you said, the characters need to stay consistent, or develop at a good pace. Going back and forth with your attitude without good cause is one of the most annoying things to watch, especially when romance is involved. Anyways, there's nothing good I can say about this drama other than the cast.
I'm going to rewatch Love and Redemption now. If you haven't seen it, I recommend you try it. I remember I loved watching it. We'll see if I feel the same the second time around.

Thanks for the link. Well, that really sucks tho. I loved her as an actress. She doesn't seem all that good as a person, but then again, I never fully trust everything I see online. Cancel culture is huge and I don't trust people lol. It's a shame tho.
You are not the only one. I put the drama on hold, because I simply couldn't stand her character any more. There…
I suppose this is meant to be a love/hate relationship but sadly they're rarely done well. Especially not in a chinese xianxia. Idk what the writers are thinking at times tbh. You need to make the plot believable and the choices/thought of the characters logical. But it seems the writers just don't even know what they're doing tbh.
Li Susu constantly switches the way she feels about Tantai Jin.She doesn't doesn't see things much from his perspective…
I just realised this is adapted from a novel. I'll probably check it out after I'm done with the drama.
Also, I understand what you said. I can understand her for the most part tbh. It's just that in some situations I feel like she blames him without even thinking. For example, episode 21. After Tantai Jin kills the Sheng Emperor and Yingxin, she gets angry and starts calling him all sorts of things. But before that, she'd visited essentially his enemies and told them about his location, even if it wasn't with ill intent. She has no idea what exactly happened. She blames him for going out at night to kill people. He's an Emperor warring against another nation. Idk what she expects him to do. As for Yingxin, her death was deserved imo. She tried to kill him, and in the world they live in, that's enough justification to kill her. Either way, Li Susu seems to judge Tantai Jin for actions that are completely logical tbh. I guess she holds prejudice against him still and it's a part of the story but I still dislike it.
I see a lot of people seem to love this drama. I'm about mid way through so far. I must say the drama itself is…
Li Susu constantly switches the way she feels about Tantai Jin. She doesn't doesn't see things much from his perspective at all but rather just fixates on one situation that just happened and then sees him as a terrible person.
Sure she should hate him after what he did as the Demon Lord in the present. It's understandable to keep hating him even after you see him being mistreated after going back to the past. But obviously, a smart person would realise that clearly Tantai Jin's had a miserable life where he's mistreated and betrayed by everyone. If he one day dies after such a life or/and is given immense power, while he doesn't even understand emotions, wouldn't he or anyone in his situation want to tear down your enemies at the very least? And, I'm not even sure how it works, but if Tantai Jin dies, he's just dead right? The demon lord within his 'evil bones' will take over his body and replace him. So it's not even the same person the causes everything that happens in the present? Or am I missing something. As I said I'm about half way through the drama so I may not know everything, but that's what I've gathered so far. Either way if she bares a grudge, and keeps hating him, it's whatever. But clearly she somewhat sees things from his perspective so tries to help him. But every time something happens she immediately sees him as the Demon Lord, and that he's completely in the wrong, without trying to even understand what happened, and goes back to hating him. 'Tantai Jin you're heartless and evil' Blah Blah... That happens enough times that I've lost count. And it's quite honestly annoying. And, then it's followed by her trying to stop his death. Followed by some happy moments. Followed by 'oh he's a pitiful person and seems alright but I'm still going to kill him' Followed by now making him fall in love with her, knowing she plans to kill him afterwards. Idk I can't even put how I feel about her into words exactly. She doesn't feel complicated in a good way, but rather hypocrital and cruel. It's like one minute the writers want her to be the good person, next minute a bad person. I don't feel the complexity or torn emotions from her character which is what I think her character was meant to be? But, rather it feels like she changes in attitude towards Tantai Jin quite often and randomly, without enough cause. I just find it hard to like her right now. But maybe that'll change towards the end.
I see a lot of people seem to love this drama. I'm about mid way through so far. I must say the drama itself is very appealing. The initial premise of the plot and love was incredible and had me hooked. The actors have done an amazing job so far.
Just like every other xianxia, this has a lot of flaws. But that's something you choose to accept when you watch this genre.
However, the character of the main leads is quite important to me. And as much as I like Bai Lu as an actress, I don't like Li Susu so far. Her character might improve but I don't think it will happen. If anything, it's probably going to get worse. Am I the only one that feels this way about her?
I'll try and roughly explain why I dislike her so far in a comment below.
wtf? why has Seo Yea Ji not been in anything in 2023? its been like 20 months? shes absolutely gorgeous and an incredible actor is she taking a break or something?
Me too. I remember listening to it every single day for months.Should start doing that again
Yh im at that stage rn Not sure how long it will last Ive just been listening to blue flower, im sorry, aching and love letter endlessly on repeat lmao
And somehow it clearly happens and is accepted by the majority, otherwise things would have changed by now.

I'm impatient and you never know how long seasons can take so I've started reading the novel Nightwatcher lol
Is there any news on the release date for season 2?
