Yes, that's how I've felt about Darren Wang's acting of the character too. His emotion is very fleeting. If viewers…
Yeah, within the first 20 episodes or so, there were moments in the drama that even I disliked him, but at the same time, I understood him and felt for him, and the longer the drama went on, the more I liked him.
Hi, this drama is not real historical. It's just a fiction based from a novel.
I actually had no idea this had some relation to the actual history. Btw, what do you mean Bo Wang exited? Also, is the story about Bo Wang true? Was he really raised in the wild, then adopted and become a prince? I'm guessing not, but if it is true, it's quite badass.
Just finished the drama. The acting in this drama was brilliant from almost everyone. Although it was very hard to decide, in my opinion, Li Qin gave the strongest performance. She really is an amazing actress. Xin Zhi Lei, Darren Wang and Xiao Zhan also did terrific jobs. Another quick thought that I'll leave here though. I loved Darren Wang's portrayal of his character. Usually when an actor in a drama is trying to push away the person they love for whatever reason, for example, protecting them etc, I don't find the acting believable. This is because they usually show too much emotion, and therefore their inner feelings are clearly visible, which defeats the purpose they are trying to achieve. The way I see it, you can't fool someone who knows you well into believing something while showing so much emotion on your face that clearly suggests the opposite. I felt like Prince Bo treated Zhai Xing harshly enough to make her and the people around her believe that he doesn't care about her, but at the same time he made subtle expressions that allowed the audience to know his real feelings. I much prefer this type of acting. It just feels more real. I don't know if people will understand exactly what I mean, but yeah...
I which episode ma zhai xing knows that lord bo still loves her?
Episode 45. She slowly starts putting things together from episode 38 onwards, but only hears the real truth in episode 45. I wish it was a more climatic/dramatic after everything that had happened, but it is what it is.
Hi, this drama is not real historical. It's just a fiction based from a novel.
Hi. If you're referring to this not being a drama about actual historical events, then yes, I know that. When I used the word historical, I was referring to the fact that this drama is set in a historical/ancient time period, but I can see how that could be misinterpreted.
Hi, does anyone know a website where I can watch all the episodes of The Wolf? I remember that all the episodes for this drama were released together. Please comment the website below, or send me a message. Thank you. At the moment only 28 episodes have English subtitles. I usually put myself through the torture of waiting for subtitles in order to fully appreciate and enjoy the drama, but I don't really want to do that for this drama. I just want to get past all the misunderstandings, and maybe watch some more happy scenes, and reach the conclusion.
I'm currently on episode 24, and in my opinion, the biggest strength of this drama are the actors. I honestly love all the casting choices. Almost, if not all the cast, fits and portrays their characters really well. Darren Wang can play both sides of his character really convincingly. He did a great job of showing the innocence and naivety of the Wolf boy, and the menacing and scary side of Prince Bo. It kinda just seemed like his natural face/expressions allowed him to do this with some ease. His smile is really quite unique, and wide, I mean this in a good way of course, so he totally does seem like a different person depending on whether he is smiling or frowning, which really helps with portraying his character. Li Qin was amazing as usual. Everything I've seen her in has shown me that she is a very talented actress. She does an incredible job of portraying both carefree and strong characters. Xiao Zhan was just as I expected to be honest. He perfectly fit the character. He has this natural charisma/charm which perfectly complemented his character. The actors who portrayed the Emperor, Wen Yan, Mo Xiao, Hai Die, Yao Ji, etc also did a great job. The acting is incredible, but the script really isn't tbh. There are too many faults with the main characters decisions and actions. Prince Bo has made quite a few questionable decisions and he keeps changing his approach towards handling Ma ZhaiXing, which makes him seem inconsistent and stupid at times. Li Qin is really intelligent at times, but then in just a moment, she loses that intelligence and turns into someone anyone could trample over, which again makes her inconsistent too. Ji Chong started out as a very interesting character, but he hasn't really been given much of a story. Also, I know they're trying to give him a rougher appearance, but I wish they had given him a bit better costume/make up because what he's wearing doesn't really do his looks any justice. Anyway, he seems like someone you can really route for so far, but I can totally see that being ruined too. I'm still going to finish the drama, and I'm still enjoying it to a certain extent, but it really isn't as good as I had hoped. Maybe it isn't really anyone's fault, since the drama did have to cut so many episodes and scenes due to regulations. Plenty of little details that could have changed the way someone views a relationship may have had to be removed. I'm sure this didn't help the story in any way. Anyway, I'll give a short summary. The acting is incredible. The production value is very high. The script/writing is lacking, but the drama can still be enjoyable to watch. I think it's worth a shot if you enjoy historical dramas, or like the initial premise of the story.
Also at this point EP21 every sect leaders lost their brain capacity, because the don't know what is priority…
Characters like that exist in almost, if not every, wuxia and xianxia drama. It's something you just have to learn to accept or look past in order to enjoy the drama. These type of characters always frustrate the hell out of me, but my love for historical romances exceeds my hate for these characters so I just try my best to ignore them. Hopefully one day we'll get a perfect script which can create the same tension and conflict without the need of irrational and stupid behaviour from certain characters, but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.
Firstly, I'll give my overall opinion on the drama. This kept me entertained all the way through. I love xianxia…
Ohh that makes a lot of sense then. I also felt that Luohou Jidu's revival was a little bit odd, rushed and illogical. I guess I'll have to keep a lookout for the uncut version. If these 59 episodes were so good, then I really look forward to seeing the complete uncut version, which is likely to be even better. Thank you for letting me know about it.

I prefer to leave my opinions in the comments. That way other people can express their thoughts on my opinions. Talking with other people about dramas is more fun I guess. I leave the reviews to people who are more critical and analytical.
The romance in this drama was an absolute joy to watch. This is definitely my favourite xianxia drama by far.…
Firstly, I'll give my overall opinion on the drama. This kept me entertained all the way through. I love xianxia dramas, but I also realise that they have a ton of faults. From all the xianxia dramas I've watched, this has by far the most appealing story. Also, it has a beautiful romance which immediately had me emotionally invested into the drama. The two together make this drama easy to watch and extremely enjoyable.
Now, I'll mention some things that stood out from the rest. Si Feng was the definition of a perfect lover and he was portrayed incredibly well by Cheng Yi. His acting was so real and genuine. Si Feng's love for Xuan Ji was one of a kind tbh. You don't really see it too often. He was loving, devoted, patient, certain of his feelings and completely selfless. This is me describing someone over 10 lifetimes. He was killed by the person he loved in 9 lifetimes and still continued to love her all the same. He had no doubts in his mind about the way he felt about her and that literally never changed, despite him having to go through so much heartache. I think it would have been fully reasonable for him to cut off his feelings about her after everything he went through, and maybe even turn against the righteous sects after everything they put him through. But, he didn't change and remained the same good person he was, which really showed what an incredible person he was. He wasn't only good and loving though. He was also shown to be fairly intelligent and aware. I kinda find it annoying when the male lead is righteous and good, but is very naive and stupid, so this was a big plus in my books. Anyway, I think there's no way you dislike him.
Xuan Ji was an amazing character too. Her emotions, journey and change was portrayed beautifully by Crystal Yuan. Honestly, if the wrong actress played her character, it would have been a complete disaster. She could have been so annoying, but luckily that didn't happen. Crystal Yuan did a superb job of showing Xuan Ji's innocence and lack of understanding, without coming across as stupid and annoying. Her smile had the perfect balance of innocence and beauty. Crystal Yuan was perfect for the role.
One of the biggest strengths of this drama is that events play out in a realistic manner and most characters tend to make reasonable decisions, which made the story so much more realistic and enjoyable to watch. Misunderstandings were also used quite well. They were brought about somewhat realistically, and therefore had you more emotionally invested rather than being annoyed, since you understood how and why the characters made certain choices and judgements. Of course there are a bunch of annoying characters doing annoying things, but that's pretty much a given in every historical drama.
Also, the drama has a very happy ending, which lasts more than 2 minutes unlike your usual xianxia drama endings lol. It gives you complete closure and satisfaction, which was very necessary after so many episodes of conflict and heartache, so that was great. My only complaint with the drama though is the ending few episodes. I wish it was more climatic and dramatic. Everything was resolved quite civilly considering what happened in the past, which I think was a little unrealistic. Hao Chen/Bai Lin Dijun deserved much worse than he got. The more I found out about him, the more I hated him, and by the end of the drama, I despised him so much that I think he deserved worse than death. What he did was so fucked up on so many levels. I don't care if what he thought he was doing was right. It doesn't change the outcome. He betrayed someone who trusted him and considered him a friend, then cut out his soul and trapped it inside a lamp, then turned him into a puppet and made him kill his entire race. Even after all this, he fucks with his life even more and believes his actions to be justified. Just imagine being trapped in a lamp for a 1000 years and realising that someone used your body as a weapon to wipe out your own race. If I was Luohou Jidu/Mo Sha star, I would want to burn the guy down the ground. Even his death wouldn't satisfy me. Anyway, as terrible as it sounds, I wanted a more terrible end for Bai Lin Dijun. I haven't hated a character so much in quite a while.
I could write about this drama forever, but I realise I've already written a little too much lol. Final thoughts: This was an amazing drama, which had a bit of everything, and I enjoyed it so much. 100% recommend to watch. At least give it a try if you like the genre.
The romance in this drama was an absolute joy to watch. This is definitely my favourite xianxia drama by far. You should definitely give it a try. Biggie spoilers in my comment tagged below! Don't read unless you've finished the drama, or you don't care about spoilers.
This is just my personal opinion. I enjoyed watching this, and it exceeded my expectations. Usually, dramas where the lead time travels back to a historical period, end up disappointing me. But, this was fun to watch and it had a lot of heart. The relationships were one thing this drama nailed, which is why I found it enjoyable, despite it having some elements that I find to be stupid and annoying. The acting was brilliant too, especially from the main leads. I feel like both of the main characters could've easily come across as obnoxious and annoying, but the good acting prevented that so that was great. So, time for me to mention a couple of things that I really cannot understand. Why does Saburo never learn how to fight? He has travelled back to a extremely dangerous time, and he is leading the Oda family. He has to lead his people into battle so many times, yet he never decides to learn how to use a sword? It just doesn't make sense. I've seen this done in so many dramas and it frustrates the hell out of me every time. Also, the battle plans weren't convincing at all. I really don't really understand how the Oda family and Saburo weren't killed many times over. The way they showed him escaping death so many times really wasn't realistic or convincing in my opinion. Saburo is really naive and stupid tbh. He's way to kind and his decisions should have certainly led to his death many times over if it wasn't for plot armour. They could have found a way to better implement Saburo using the history book from the modern age to survive and out manoeuvre his enemies. This could be a way to compensate for his naivety. But, the way things actually happened in the drama were kinda unrealistic and stupid at times. Anyway, this was definitely worth a watch. I liked it. Be sure to watch the sequel movie too. It gives the story a necessary conclusion.
Most likely will be a cliffhanger since anime is super long and a drama can’t cover that much
Yeah, that's my main concern too. The drama is only 40 episodes long, while the donghua is so long. There's no way they can keep all the content from the anime. I just hope they discard some of the filler/unnecessary content and keep the important elements. I really hate cliffhangers and multiple seasons, so I hope they finish the drama in just one season. It's just so exhausting waiting for new seasons and episodes.
Quite an interesting read. Thanks :)
