So after watching a drama about the ML rise to the throne now we're going to spend the last episodes watching…
Right!!!! I second that. I was really loving this drama in the beginning but it has become disappointing. I really hope they find a way to redeem it in the last 6 episodes, but I'm not counting on it really. 6 episodes isn't much time to fix things, especially since we already see from the previews that the next two will be the palace/harem drama as you said.
We only have 6 Episodes left till the end and I have no idea what kind of ending we can expect but for sure rest…
I'd really like to read the novel, but I'm not having any luck finding it. Is it on novel updates or is there an official translation available to buy?
Question: where did our ML’s swordsman skills come from? He’s never even been seen holding a sword. Lol
The mother did say she had been secretly preparing him for survival through the martial artists hidden in the Emerald Pavilion. I feel like they definitely would have taught him fighting skills. He probably doesn't have much experience beyond training & practice but it does make sense
Secret heir to the throne is sociable and respectful, but far too stupid and high profile for a life partner.…
I agree with that assessment of the ML and you've touched on a key point. If he was suddenly wise, mature & great at leading an army the audience would be rolling their eyes & complaining about it not being realistic.
My heart fluttered more when A Mai and CYQ were hiding behind that tree with his arm around her than during any…
Yes they definitely have better chemistry. The ML is an okay guy but still has a lot of growing up to do it feels like. I don't know who she'll end up with, if anyone, but their affection feels more like first puppy love than anything serious
Where is everyone watching the rest of the drama? For me, iQIYI is only updated to ep. 34
Thanks everyone! I didn't think about the kiss/dramacool platforms. I'll wait for it to come on iQIYI so they get the official watch numbers for the drama... I will say though that I'm super bummed about the ending. Try as I did to avoid spoilers, I can already tell its going to be a tragic-ish ending and I'm not sure I want that. I might just leave it at ep. 34 and pretend Ning & Ruyi caught up with the delegation, saved the emperor from being sacrificed and everyone went on their merry way lol
Some people hate this drama it seems, and I can understand why. There is an pretty big lack of drama, backstabbing, or other expressions of humans worst base instincts. Thankfully though, there are plenty of dramas that cater to people who have that taste. But, for people who get bored and think those kind of dramas suck, this one was refreshing. I also liked that both main characters are actually nice people that make relatively reasonable choices. I also liked that they avoided big drawn out misunderstandings and didn't try to add pointless tension by making the characters act ridiculous.
awwwwww okay! also, I just watched a video on youtube that has clips from multiple future episodes that has me all kinds of confused. From what I read about the book, it seems it should go a certain way but from those clips it seems it might diverge. But I remember the lead actress talking about the adaption being very faithful to the source material... Maybe there's hope?
It's okay! Exactly, it's such a dilemma! I just skimmed over the teasers for 22 and seeing him interact with her as Fangfeng Bai looked so adorable... I'd love to watch it but then that's such a tease. I swear I could understand this being part of a larger story of fated lovers going through hardship across several lifetimes. It just seems that he's the one she truly loves but isn't able to admit it to herself or maybe not recognize it? I mean, I think it's telling that only he is captured in her mirror. Or maybe I'm just too biased lol
Great drama so far. I never intended to watch this drama. I don't like love triangles let alone freaking squares. However, in a moment of weakness (aka avoiding writing my thesis) I decided to just peak at the first episode since it's being reviewed so favorably. I loved it! I ended up binging all 21 episodes with barely any sleep. However, now I'm going to drop it. After accidentally getting spoiled, I am so against seeing the ending to come that I'd rather just drop it here.
Oh no! For some reason I was so sure that Xiang Liu was going to be the one!! After seeing this I read the spoilers & now I don't even want to watch the rest of it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to drop this one at 21 episodes. Just reading bits & pieces of it was too sad. I don't want to see it. I'm not sure why but characters like Xiang Liu really have a hold over me lol. Maybe it's because my own man is basically a tsundere but I just can't. I know I'm being biased but..... The other male leads care for her, sacrifice for her, help her, etc and that's fine if they don't end up with her bc "well, she can't date everyone" but for it to happen to him just seems way to heart-wrenching. -Okay. Unhinged rant over. Even though I keep having to suppress the need to cry
Not quite, he still does essentially the same shit but he's way more tolerable here, dare I say even likable,…
Thank you! I didn’t want to risk spoiling too much by reading the comments but it was really irking me bc he seems more likable already and I was getting antsy wondering if he was going to turn full AH like in the webtoon. Thanks!
