So i'm going to rant because i actually enjoyed part 1, and thought some of part 2 was interesting (currently watching episode 19).
They tried to tell different stories with this part 2 and maybe got too creative by the last couple...
I get that the target audience is a young demographic, but infantasizing a mafia plot makes me wonder why they even bothered doing it if they couldn't add some substance. We are ready to forgive teenagers playing dangerous games when the story is told effectively enough for us to forget (e.g. Never Let Me Go, Not Me). Production team refused to pick between light and playful, and mafia undertones, and they should have because combining the two like this isn't working well.
Plus it's really annoying how they keep having to remind the viewers of the mafia connection by repeating the word "mafia" over and over.... real mafia members would not say it like that, so it just comes across as ridiculous. Do more showing than telling, or pick a subplot that works better with the mood you're trying to set!

The lack of discussion on those possibilities is the issue... it's not like Gaysorn has practical exposure to these logistics, he doesn't even have ID to get on a plane... without showing viewers their conversation about their future, it can seem like they don't have one.

Exactly all of this!! It's especially addicting because of how toxic the series relationship is, showing the positive work-partners+ relationship is like seeing them in a new role and still enjoying the chemistry between them.

I'm deep in Aylio lore even if I gave up shipping years ago... started with BTS to try and dilute the stress of the series, and now it's subbed clips from their lives, and their posts... there's something about their dynamic that feels so sweet to watch, like who the college versions of LuChen could have grown up to be if they had less toxic circumstances.... it's also mentally calming to watch them not be Lu Feng and YiChen.

The adjustment of expectations helps, because honestly was so disappointed since the first few episodes were actually going somewhere... but now, it is what it is. I may come back to it if no other shows are airing, but it's fallen off my "highly anticipated" list.

Alright. Ep8 with the 2nd clip playing... i now wish i dropped it.
They could have let the audience experience the murder through Scent watching it when the camera got to him, and then simply telling his uncle that there's video evidence from in front of the basement room. That'senough reference for the uncle to know he's done for, Then when police that Scent already called arrives, it will be clear to the others that his uncle is really the culprit.
None of this playing replaying torture in front of her loved ones business.... ughhh.

Why would Gaysorn give the only evidence of his mother's plotted disappearance to the guy who's already proven himself untrustworthy (Scent)? You won't go in his house and are relying on others who were able to get you info on how the company planned to commercialize your scent (info that was kept from you by the same Scent you're leaving the evidence with btw), why wouldn't you ask for those same people's help figuring out the letter as well?
Then there's scent that apparently regrets, realizes something off with the letter, and TAKES IT TO CONFRONT THE SUSPECT LIKE AN IDIOT. The stupidity is killing me. It was entertaining even if predictable, up until this extremely silly plot point.
Now I'm multi tasking while i finish it, only because it's not actually bad enough to be on my dropped list.
Listen, the conclusion is PERFECTION! All the angst I felt between ep8-10 has been thoughtfully addressed in ep 11-12. I actually rewatched the prior episodes (with some skips of the 2nd couple & the hospital drama) before finishing it today.
The rollercoaster of emotions through the whole series …. Wow! Ayden, Lu Si Tong & the production team really deserve accolades for taking viewers on such a thrilling ride! I’m spent.
