Fuhui beats her husband, her husband is a whiny spoiled brat who can't think for himself.
Yang Xian is an entitled spoiled and domineering young lord, Leshan is also spoilt and a tad bit violent.
Their mother is over the top and is all about money (can't blame her, she has a family to raise).
The only characters that don't have excesses at this point are the first daughter and her future partner.
I can say that Chai An and Sanniang are evenly matched. They should just get married and scheme against other people together instead of fighting all the time.

Yes, I like the message as well. Very sensible. I wish LiangHan hadn't gone so far as to keep her thinking she was captured all night. My first thought after seeing that scene was that she must have been so scared of being killed, raped or sold off, as well as worrying about the fate of her sister. That was a terrible idea from them both, I'm glad she found out and dealt with him.
That is one thing most people are deliberately ignoring about this drama, the MLs barely ever get away with their antics. The FLs call them out on their nonsense and dole out punishments.
My advice to people that want to check this drama out and are sceptical because of the wave of negative comments, as usual, try out the first few episodes and if you don't like it, drop it.
