The way Tang San uses his brain and energy to tackle those 3 levels was like watching a level-up battle! π₯…
I was yelling to my screen the whole time at Hu Liena "Don't fall for the handsome, intelligent and powerful guy, he's taken already by our Xiao Wu." πππ
People are unfairly judging this drama for its different cast, but if they watched past three episodes, they'd…
I completely agree. Especially for fans of the donghua, just watch past 3 or 4 episodes. You'll totally enjoy it. I love the amount of depth they're giving each couple's story. But as always Tang San and Xiao Wu are my favourite ππππ
I had read the book when it first came out and let me just say Im higly dissapointed in the drama version. Disclaimer…
This is a funny comment. I read the book (twice). Han Ting is one of my favourite male book characters. The portrayal of HT in the drama is quite spot on. Apart from the scenarios that were changed and also added. I believe the reason you feel HT is soft in the drama is because you can see a lot from his POV in the drama. You mentioned in your comment that if he didn't want to do something, he would just listen and still go about doing whatever he planned. There are many instances in the drama where he strictly stood on business without compromising his standards even when it came to JX. As a book reader, I'm quite satisfied with the adaptation. You should actually be glad they didn't butcher it. That would have been sad and actually really frustrating.

Thank you very much for this analysis. God bless you. Please, can your comment be put in the discussions section? It is high time we have one. πππ

Wow, where have you been since the beginning of this drama? Ignore my question though, 'cos I know you were preparing to write this wonderful and insightful words.
Maybe because I had read the novel multiple times, I had an automatic understanding of Shi Yan which I didn't really think deeply about. You explained and dissected his character so well, reading your comment and thinking back to those scenes, you are so right about his motives, values, thoughts, actions and reactions.
All most people are seeing is the "cold CEO" persona, he is actually very thoughtful and introspective. He knows what he wants and he sees that in Zheng Su Yi but he is also very careful and acts according to the cues she gives him. The directors and script writers DO KNOW what they are doing. I am glad.
Oh, I plan to fully enjoy this drama till the end. One thing that disappoints me is the people that profess to be a big fan of Bai Lu and Dylan, why don't you trust your actor and actress to choose a drama? This is the 4th drama of Bai Lu I will be seeing, I have not been disappointed in any. She is accomplished enough to be able to choose her dramas by herself and I believe Zheng Su Yi and her story with Shi Yan resonates with her and influenced her choice, same with Dylan.
You wrote my thoughts exactly. The thing is that you can never satisfy humans, our wants and needs are diverse.…
I think most people are being too critical, not towards the actor/actress but towards the characters and not patient enough to watch the story unfold. Someone mentioned they've not had a really good conversation and I'm like seriously? I can mention like 3 to 5 scenes of them talking and getting to know each other. Any normal person will be hesitant to confess to someone they are not sure of, that is why Shi Yan decided not to tell her at that moment.
In previous dramas, when comments like this come up (the story is boring, it's dragging, they are so silly, it's cringey, etc), I just ignore. But for this drama, it is so frustrating for me because all the things being criticised are actually not soooo worthy of criticism.

You wrote my thoughts exactly. The thing is that you can never satisfy humans, our wants and needs are diverse. I am not surprised it is not up to some people's preferred standards. All I know is that I am enjoying it immensely, watching the characters and scenes from the novel come to life is fascinating.
I don't know what others consider as "chemistry", but btw Zheng Su Yi and Shi Yan, it is very there and obvious too.
I understand and feel the frustration about the kisses, lol. But believe me, the scenes are coming and we'll enjoy them (If censorship hasn't gotten to them first though.)
I'm not speak here as actors fan.... I want to speak here as a novel reader So many people complain about plot…
I am same as you, I have read the novel multiple times, reading it again as the episodes are released so I know what happens next. I'm excited to see how they interpret the scenes and I have not been disappointed so far. I've said this before and will say it again, Dylan and Bai Lu are doing a wonderful job acting out these characters. He is Shi Yan, she is Zheng Shu Yi.
The storyline/plot of the novel is what is being put on the show, it is an adaptation which they are following closely and so far, most of us that read the novel can see how well it is going.
I'm sorry most others can't see it that way. That's how life is, different strokes for different folks.
