After a long hiatus, I finally decided to watch a C-drama again and came to the comment section to gather some…
Of course they won't mention that, only the men have flaws, the women are perfect angels descended from heaven and walk on water as well, they can do no wrong. πππ
people who are alright with these kinds of mls are probably wtpr and qot enjoyers
LOL πππ Resorting to snide comments now. If you're not alright with it, drop it. Don't be talking smack here.
And besides, not everyone that is here is alright with the MLs actions. We just know and acknowledge that humans can be very bad sometimes but they should also be given the chance to grow and be better versions of themselves. Have any of the MLs killed anyone? Beaten up the females? Raped any of them? If they had, I would bid good riddance to this drama as well.
Even when Chai An kicked the ball towards 3rd daughter's head, if you watch that part again he didn't do it with huge force because he didn't really want to hurt her. Compare the force with when she kicked it back at him.
And finally, FYI although I watched WTPR and you'll see it in my watchlist, I didn't enjoy it as much as most people did, I barely saw the last episodes. And for QOT, didn't bother with it at all.
This is one of the reason I usually don't watch popular drama while it was on-going. The comment section will…
Exactly. Please, for those of us enjoying how the drama is going, let's keep the discussions about the relevant aspects of it and stay away from arguing about the same thing over and over.
I think we are so busy discussing about the men of this drama, that we are ignoring how good our FLs are? I really…
It's because of the back and forth with all these complaints. Only few people are even able to talk about what is actually happening and the progress the drama is making. π«π«π«
really wish mdl users would be this protective of flawed female chars as well bc every time there's a girl who…
Oh, I can tell you that some of us do defend the FLs. I remember when Fireworks of my heart was airing. The FL was bashed from beginning to end. Me and a few other users tried to defend her, she wasn't so bad imo, I could understand her because she had a terribly controlling mother (her mother was insufferable).
I didn't eventually finish it though because one of my favourite characters was killed, which was not how it went in the novel. I was mad.
do you expect character development to occur in 5 episodes?
Watch the video again, he wasn't beating her, he was going to hit someone else and she tried to protect the person and got hit instead. It is a short video without any context.
The many many many complaints and rants about this drama brings me to put forward the question "What level of abuse towards female characters by the ML in dramas is acceptable/manageable/tolerable?"
I know everyone will have different levels of tolerance, we can't all be the same.
Most people have complaints that the MLs here are abusive (I am not excusing that dummy Yang Xian). While most of us if we check out our Watchlists, we have dramas like Moonlight mystique, Blossom, LBFAD, TTEOTM, My Journey to you, etc. These dramas are just a few amongst many where the ML either choked, tortured or almost killed the FL in the beginning before warming up to them. So, what is the deal about Perfect match?
Like others, I was annoyed by the male characters' attempts to "control" their wives or partners. I have to remind…
Concerning Chai An as a businessman, I don't see why he should have to yield or go easy on them because they are a family of a widow and her daughters, business is business. Big companies and businesses try to one-up their competitors all the time. It's no big deal. Even when he tricked her mother, he returned the money, meanwhile she also tricked him back. She matched him aura for aura.
this is actually crazy omg who the hell said they wanted silent and cute male characters or a girlboss drama???…
'if the historical drama doesnt show challenges for the women to overcome by themselves, is it historical only for the aesthetic? we have xianxia for that'
Thank you for this statement, it's exactly what I was thinking. Also, if the Male characters don't have any flaws, how can we see their growth? What's the point of the drama then? In this century, people aren't perfect, not to talk of portrayals of men that lived many years ago in a patriarchal society. Come on, give us a break. π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ
this drama's funny moments are so amusing and fun (the mother's fighting in the street) hahaha also loooove chai…
Lol, they both enjoy the 'rivalry'. They're definitely flirting with one another and I'm all here for it, except now that Liang buffoon has caused a serious misunderstanding π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ
Don't go with the ratings. It's a family drama with strong women leads and amazing supporting male leads. For…
Same for me as well. I love these types of dramas. Gives me Story of Minglan feels (except without the polygamous household problems, lol). I rewatch episodes of SOML every few months or so, I think Perfect Match is going to be another multiple rewatch drama for me πππ

There is so much to still unpack.

Honestly, it pains me that we live in such an age where everyone is so impatient and judgemental.
But she is right, when you marry someone, you marry their families as well. π©π©π©

Just a question o.
Big companies and businesses try to one-up their competitors all the time. It's no big deal.

There are no wife-beaters in this drama so far.

You don't know how happy I am for this translation. πππ
Many thanks.
