right XD her personality was all over the place

literally same. i wish they'd gotten together earlier, maybe a forced marriage or somethign??? maybe he wouldve forgotten SQ and moved on by falling for his wife. this is what i was hoping would happen when his aunt kept saying "you should marry the song young lady" but no. he had to turn evil. im sad.

sigh. i wanted zhou to get together wtih the song girl lol, before he became all irrideemable and crazy. they had great chemistry and I was really hoping he wouldnt go down the obsessive evil route and just move on when another crazy girl comes crashing into his life. ahhhh, what a missed opportunity. they even got married but i was just like... noooo. they shouldve kept it on the lighter side, kept him as a pawn to his aunt, somethign he was forced to do. instead he turned crazy. i just felt bad for him by the end of it.
even tho he deserved it cause he just. wouldnt. give. it up.

well i loved the scene in the archives where he picked her up and took her out. i liked their bickering too.

i loved the nature theme of this show. i almost wish it stayed present in the tokyo arc but i understand mone has to move around and experience different things lol

also this is clearly a case where they had a vision to make a "fashion story" and make it "high class" but they didn't have a story and had to create one. the story should always come first in screenwriting. how should i say this? this isnt a story with themes of fashion, these are pretty shots of the fashion industry and seoul life with a story stitched into it. (lowkey im pretty sure this was a tourism ad)

i dont like when the main character narrates to the audience like they know everything or like theyre explaining why their job is so important to the peace of the world or something. like at least be a firefighter or something that needs these reflections in their life to remind them why they're doing such dangerous stuff. if you reflect on your job as a "fashion designer" as helping the world, aren't you just being arrogant. lmao, its just a bit annoying to listen to, like a rich person talking to a poor person about how to better their life when they've never struggled even for a day. is this making sense??? hahahha. basically, don't have characters narrate their jobs like they're super deep and impactful, especially if it's something niche like high-fashion lmao, they could've done this in a more quirky or ironic way instead of idolising the industry with instagram filters and wine-parties on rooftops lmao, it would be far more interesting then.

well that makes way more sense if they weren't given stricter directions on how to act in scenes hahaha. it seemed each actor had to interpret how their character would feel, but between san and her, they werent matching and it made the story flow disjointed.

if they'd had 20 episodes to transition from fictional storylines to what happened in history then it wouldve made way more sense how they acted near the end. sadly, it came off as abrupt personality changes because of the shortened time. if i were them, i wouldve cut out half of those ending scenes so that the story could develop at a normal pace.

yeah, i really like her as an actor cause she was really good in other shows ive seen. idk, its like she got mixed signals from the director, or the writing was so bad it was confusing as to what she was even meant to be feeling. like the drama never really explained why she always rejected him? i was always confused of her actions, and they were never explained properly, then the reasons they gave didnt match her character or the last 10 episodes we'd watched.
it was very confusing and I became disconnected to her motives and rooting for her.

omg yes. i was so confused. yes what even happened to that chemistry? its like she actually stopped loving him. she wasnt pretending to not love him, i think she actually stopped loving him. i mean i didnt expect her to always be happy as a concubine, or to be overjoyed with all the rules and that she has to share her husband. i expeccted those bitter, jealous and hopeless moments, but where were hte happy ones? the reaso she chose to stay? it seemed like every time she was with him she was acting so fake and like she hated her life and him and everything. it was so freaking weird. im totally with you, made 0 sense. they tried to twist the real story into it at the end, but by then the characteres had strayed too far from their real life counterparts, so suddenly jumping to these events irl seems very out of characters and disjointed.
naah, she reminded me of those historical chinese dramas (if youve seen one you know what im talking about) where the female lead marries the emperpor even tho she doesnt love him and so she decides to be a good queen while hating her life in the palace and pretending to be someone else while her old free personality gets hidden deep in her heart forever.... yeah that..

im sorry. what were those last couple episodes, no what was the FLs writing the last half of the drama. i am so confused and it made me feel all squirmy and weird as the episodes kept going.

ok first of all. Deok Im. what is wrong with you, you've only been in the palace since like forever, you know how all this social status things work. when you were a concubine you couldve just asked for things to do, or done whatever you wanted anyway (i mean you had no problem telling stories when you werent supposed to, roasting chestnuts as a maid) what happened to your personality. then you've got the king there even telling you he doesnt care if you leave the house and do random things. how many times does he have to say to treat him not like a king when theyre alone, to ignore the rules. and for ht elove of god, how many times does he have to say and prove that he loves you. the amount of times she asked him if he actually liked her literally blew my mind. i mean after the 3rd time hes screamed at you about loving you, wtf are you still doubting???? i have no idea where that plotline came from. Plus the whole freedom thing. But you were a slave anyway? you could only leave the palace a couple days a year and liked being in the palace, but suddenly you must have freedom outside? that makes 0 sense. her whole life, family and friends is inside hte palace. that literally mmade no sense to her character? now that she's a concubine, she just doesnt have to sccrub the floor????? and spend time with the man she loves who clearly is not strict or wants to limit you??????? at this point i dont really know whats shes even thinking.
then theres the whole "i was forced to be here" like he didnt give you a choice the night he called for her. he gave her a choice to leave??????????????? what does she want to bake the cake and eat it too? does she want her freedom as a commoner, the ability to do wahtever she wants, the kings love, her friends, be able to see the king whenever, but still be completely free?? no offense, but that is so naive, espeically as someone who grew up in the palace. not even the king can get everything he wants. infact, hes probably the most trapped. speaking of, how did she turn from the only person who understood the king, to literally hating him for the ssame reason. wasn't she meant to be the one who understood his conflict between his royal duty and his personal desires? once again, the sccript writers just turned her into a brat, like we didnt spend the last 10 episodes discovering that Lee San has to balance his life????????? it makes her to hypocritical, adn shes meant to NOT be hypocritical. finally???? wtf is this about tortuing this man every day, treating him like hes keeping you captive just for what??? i dont even understand her motive? she said she can at least have control of one thing and thats to "not show him you love him" what the actual fuck??? does that sound sane to you? for what reason? you chose between a completely free life to spend most of your life with the man you love because he happens to be the king. now you refuse to show him love? istg, that was the most crazy bitch thing ive ever seen. like women like that irl are pyschopaths yall. i dont see why shed hurt him for her weird pride? and then on her death bed, the man she spend most of her time with, the man she loves, the man who lovess her, rushes to hiim and shes like "lol, new phone who dis? i want my friends" like wouldnt even let him say anythingg? nah, this shit made no sense. the more i watched their relationship the more ???????????????????????????????????????? i got. like is anyone else seeing this shit? does this make sense to you? because it didnt make sense to me?
she was the type of person who always made things HAPPEN around her, but as soon as she became a concubine she legit LAY on the floor and shed a dramatic tear??? tell me this isnt a joke?????? i really loved her character in the beginning (which may be why im so pissed) nah, this was the worst nosedive of a script ive ever seen. i could write heaps more but i cant even remember what ive talked about and what i havent. please tell me someone agrees with me.
