right? its like it had potential, adn i actually liked the fl personality whch is rare lol, but the other characters made no sense and the plot points would just never be resolved. in a way it reminded me of how chaotic real life is and how some things just stop and continue and you go back to things, but on the other hand, the storytelling makes no sense lmao

the beginning of this drama was really good to me. interesting setting, interesting characters, interesrting production and storyflow. the dark cinematics and ski resort backdrop made me feel like i was on a cozy ski holiday and i loveddddddd the vibe. it became my comfort show. about half way round tho, the writing went insane, and either became really boring with office stuff, and started to not make much sense. i did grow a bit attatched to their little friend group and the skiiing store, but other than that, i have no idea why they wrote the 2nd half like that. pretty dissapointed. this show was still a vibe tho.

fr im so mad they made wengu a dumb child at the end... wth, thats pretty much not him anymore. he shouldve gotten his memories back and had a redemption arc.

for once i liked the fl alot and didnt really care for the ml (i like the actor, it's just his character was written poorly imo) even tho this story wasn't perfect and neither were the characters writing, the fl actress was honestly amazing. I genuinely rooted for her.

no she's not, she actually has a very kind soul, its just she's 100% loyal to an evil guy and does anything he says

btw, I watched all of their scenes first, then at a later date i started watching the emporer's and the empress's story. its also a bit tragic, because theyre both very stubborn, their pride kept them from being happy, maybe check it out if you like love/hate relationships haha. but the princess' story is defes goated

right? i, pretty dramatic so I thought i kept using 'haunting' cause im extra, but no, there story is filled with 'what could of been' and how nothing really kept them apart except for societies expectations. thats why you can't get over it. its like watching someone die from a stupid death, it just feels like it didn't have to happen, if they just spoke up a little more, pleaded a little further, didn't bite their tongue, could they have had a happy ending? or maybe they were doomed from the start....
(also totally irrelevant but i loved the colour pallete of this drama, hwajiis lime green uniform is burned into my soul hahaha)
ahhhh, its so tragic. i think it feels so unique because hte male lead wasn't a prince or a ceo, but a really unexpected character.

There are so many beautiful scenes, when the emporer realises whats going on and needs to punish him despite his fondness for him, when he opened the umbrella. Theres something so tragi c about how he couldve been such a smart and good scholar if he wasnt sold as a slave. Theres actually a book that the drama is based off of and its originally about the princess and hwaji. Im slowly reading it online because someone is translating it page by page

Haha im honestly so glad. I just had to make a post about it because their story was the most beautiful thing ive ever seen ( and ive wTched a LOT of cdramas) and it made me so sad to see how underratted this drama is, and how people will never see their story because the rest of the drama is super draggy. The fact my comment actually convinced someone to flgive it a go means so much hahaha XD

omg right, i watchedd this ages ago and their story still haunts me... ive watcched tons of "tragic stories" from cdramas, but the way they acted and the storytelling made me cry like i knew them. glad you liked it hahaha

this drama was really good because it was really different and unique. the writing was different to typical shows. i felt bad for even the villians sometimes. idk, some of the acting was excellent too. a nice spin on the typical "girl goes into alternate world" trope

this is so underrated.... i loved this drama, it was so mystical with all the rain/cloud settings and the sea village... i dunno, I felt calming to watch it and the characters were lovely. i loved the way they made his powers.

dont watch them till they get together in the main story. i have no idea why theyd put random extra sccenes of htem dating in the early episodes

yes. i love that they included family relationships too, and that the dad was a big part in the story!

i loved the ending where they all gate crash their wedding, theyre so funny just lounging around in their wedding room hahhaha. i loved the earlier parts of hte show too, when songlan was courting herbal lord and misinterrpreting all the human culture haha

omg i loved this, the story was unique after seeing so many historical dramas with the same plot and characters, also the plant immortals were all so cute and straightforward and hilariious

this has to be good because it doesnt have the normal 24 episode formula
