I wouldn't really call this a remake, this was more of an "inspired by", so I don't think this show should be written off because the original was far better. This was definitely one of the better cdramas out there. imo, they added too much of an original storyline to call it "remake" so i think it should be judged on its own
honestly, i haven't seen a well-produced, well-written cdrama in a really long time. this is definitely one of the best cdramas to come out this year. I feel the ending was a bit rushed, but other then that one issue, it was such a fun watch. the sets were amazing and the costumes. the friendships and teachers were really well-built. I had a soft spot for the reluctant "villian" class president, but pretty much all the characters were likeable. This isn't full on romance but there was definitely enough to satisfy. A really enjoyable drama imo
Tsk! Tsk! Even for a girl this Wen Bin runs at a snail's pace!Slaps forehead!
yep XD if she was an aristocrat's daughter who's never worked a day in her life and just sits in her room all day sewing, then yes, i can 100% believe it, but she's been out working in the streets since day 1, she should not be that unfit XD
Anyone else felt like everything was resolved to easily or is it just me? Idk. I was expecting the resolution…
i have the most awfulest feeling that they had to cut down on episodes and just rushed the ending. if that's not the case then the crazy-fast resolution of all the conflicts, lovelines, and everyones after-story is really really bizzare. im with you on this. it was a well-paced show throughout so what happened in the end????????
I've forgotten the plot of the original kdrama. But is anyone hoping Han Zhi Sheng has an epiphany of some kind…
yep. he has always been the reluctant villian in my eyes. you can tell he doesnt enjoy being "mean" like some of his followers do. oh, he'll be the one to devise the plans and he'll tell them what to do, but you can tell it's not actually in his nature. It comes across that way though cause he's just filled with so much anger. i dunno, i get Zuko vibes from him XD a kind person forced to be bad
when the drama started it got criticized for the kissing scene and when it ended it got criticized for no kissing…
yeah, i haven't seen the show but if it's true that she isn't a minor, then they shoudn't have to change it. heck, i just watched Beautiful Love, Beautiful Life, a daily show (which actually talked about a lot of controversial things like youth suicide, law corruption, covering up a crime) and the two main characters first met and interacted when the fl was in highschool and the guy was an adult, but it didn't recieve any hate. now i know that BR is meant to be an edgy show so maybe national tv wasn't the best station to air it on, but still? what it's being accused of isn't even the truth. just seems a bit odd. This show was meant to edgy, so run with it! don't back out half-way and then you've got this weird watered-down half-controversial, half-nonsecial boring plot because we had to change it last minute storyline

ugh, this is what i hate about kdramas. the scripts or whatever shouldn't change just because someone complains. wahtever happened to the integrity of artwork? if it has to be criticised, let it be after you've released everything. someone out there is loving this drama and has now been completely back-stabbed with teh changed script because the producers care more about other things than telling a story, totally disregarding any of their loyal followers.
I loved the drama "be melodramatic" and it got the lowest ratings ever. If they'd changed up the script because of that I would've felt really betrayed, but it kept it's charms to the end for the people who WERE watching.
It'd be stupid to ignore the importance of profit in any industry, but i wish they'd respect storytelling a little more
So true! He is a perfect example of why good parenting is so important. HZS would probably have been a better…
yes true. unlike what people think, he isn't obsessed with image and his pride. It's only his father making him be president, making him do anything to be number one, and keeping him from being with xiao man. it's already been shown with the flashbacks that he was perfectly happy to buy a house and live with her somewhere, as long as they were together. he's really just stuck under his father's control. probs why he's so angry all the time. in the flashbacks he was a very cheerful person. someone liberate him XD hes ma fav

yes, he is sometimes too harsh and cold, but you can see he does have some kind of morals, like how he was bothered by how that guy was manhandling the singer, also how he wanted to win the competition fairly and got mad at his subordinate by cheating. i can kind of spare most of his behaviour considering if he's not number one, his own life is on the line thanks to his absuive father. you can see he's actually quite soft-hearted when he cries from his father's scolding. i dunno, i like him XD im a sucker for the tragic bad boys LOL
surprisingly, hte plot is pretty original. i actually forgot this was a remake. i feel this is how "remakes" should actually be. all the new stuff they added is really cool. any inspirations or plotpoints taken from the original are used in a different order and so differently it takes me a while to realise "ahhhh, right this happened" i like what they've done
