I love that you have a monthly "watching list"! It seems like a great way of choosing what you would like to watch…
lol, i think it's just impossible to choose what you'd like to watch from 100 shows lol. the choices are overwhelming, it's like when you go to a an icecream store and theres a thousand flavours, but you could've equally found one you liked if they only had like 6 XD
i dont think thats an unpopular opinon at all. the acting is A1 and the chemistry is great. id even say the cinemaogrpahy…
yeah despite all it's issues i also went and read the book and kept rewatching parts. i dunno, it's so feel-good, and i liked the idea of hte story, i just wish someone who actually knew how to put a story together produced this LOL. it's like they had all these great ideas but didn't know how to put them together. anyway, it's silly to nitpick lakorns when they're supposed to be fun. despite all of it's flaws i was literally. obsessed. with this show, i even watched the raws before they weere subbed which i NEVER do cause i just couldnnt wait LOL
it's true that the market for dramas is a bit much. Every month there are new dramas coming out and we all simply…
yes, the worst thing is there are so many bad dramas and you have to sift through so many to find the real gems haha. i usually dont really use 2x speed either, i start with 1.25x but i make it faster as my annoyance grows LOL. but honestly you just get used to watching fas subtitles. when i first started watching cdramas from kdramas, it felt like chinese people spoke soooo fast and i couldnt read the subtitles before they disappeared, now i easily watch cdramas on 2x speed lol XD but maybe im just crazy hahaa
holy shhhh, i do this too. like to a T (to a tae... haha) ok no. but for real. i do this too. i never use the…
lol, i know. when i read your comment i was like..... wow. someone else does this XD despite how much i hate those tabs if i accidentally close them all and i cant get them back then a small part of my soul dies lol. i tried bookmarking them too but i just end up forgetting they exist in that way, like "out of sight, out of mind". i also once tried listing them all out on my computers stickynotes but i always go back to the tabs #tabsforever lol
Gosh. Gonna go against the popular opinions again by saying this drama was kinda disappointing for me plotwise.…
i dont think thats an unpopular opinon at all. the acting is A1 and the chemistry is great. id even say the cinemaogrpahy is quite high and the settings and main osts are really pretty. the story tho.... super crappy LOL. teh writing barely makes sense and the editing makes it even worse. still just like you said, i was obsessed anyway lol.
Doesn't it bother you that you might've missed something good once you skip? Sometimes I want to but then I'm…
you could try putting it on 2x speed instead of skipping stuff at first. that way you're not missing anything out but cutting the time you spend on it in half? I usually do that and slow it back to normal speed when a couple I like or a scene I like appears (cause that's why you're stickign with this drama right? for the parts of it you actually like, right?)
I'm a sucker for Chinese dramas, and they are usually 40/50+ episodes. So instead of getting addicted to dropping,…
the literal calmness that encompasses your body when you finish a long-ass cdrama you hated and now you can move on with your life. It took me so long to just NOT watch somethign that long or something I wasn't really interested in. tbh, i have yet to see one cdrama over 40 episodes (except young blood) that was actually WORTH it. so now if i see a historical over like 50 eps im jsut like SCREEEEEEEEEEE RUN AWAY and if i see a modern cdrama that's 30 eps and not 24, then i RUN THE HELL AWAY. lol
You just described me in an article. Why is it so hard to finish dramas? I always drop dramas even if I dont add…
holy shhhh, i do this too. like to a T (to a tae... haha) ok no. but for real. i do this too. i never use the functions on mydramalist properly. i just have like a thousand tabs open of dramas i need to watch and i never delete them so they just sit there annoying me everytime i use the internet. I guess they're so annoying that there's a satisfaction in deleting one once i complete a drama but otherwise it's just unneccesary stress chewing up my laptop battery LOLLLLLLLL. i even started organising them into different windows like "fantasy, modern" cause i couldnt even read the titles anymore. ughhhh, i dont know why i started doing this but it's become a habit LOL.
I definitely was in a phase of skipping scenes a couple of weeks ago and it felt like a life saver honestly because…
LOL i detox with jdramas too. there's so much less bs and less colour and short episodes and susinct storyline. like if the story's only 4 eps long, they'll make it 4 episodes long XD i love it.
LOL. why is this a real issue and why do i relate to this. I'm totally the same. Started off with the mindset of "whatever I start, I must finish" and i always felt bad about dropping dramas. If I really couldn't finish one I'd leave it on my "watching list" and i'd just tell myself "one day i'll watch it" just to make myself feel better.
I realised I couldn't go on like that though. These dramas started taking over my "watching list" and would stay there even after I finished series after series and started to feel like an evergrowing pile of homework that I didn't want to do but knew I had to at one point (even though I don't HAVE to watch anything, this is meant to be for FUN, right? When did this become a chore?). Plus I was wasting literal years of my life watching chinese dramas with 40-60 episodes. So I had to come up with some kind of system.
First, if I start watching a drama and I'm beginning to feel bored, i immedietly put it on 2x speed. lol. The subtitles might of been hard to read at first but you get used to it very quickly. If doing this doesn't make me engaged by like ep 3 then I just leave it on my monthly "watching list" I usually only watch 7-8 dramas a month that i just randomly grouped because my "to watch" list was getting crazy long and I didn't know how to organise it LOL.
So then I just watch whatever I feel like in that "month list". who cares if you start all 6 dramas in a space of a week. The whole point of this hobby is to enjoy the moment and be entertained. Also, no dramas will be "forgotten" with new ones cause I only have these 7-8 to think about in this month so they'll all eventually get looked at. Then at the end of the month I evaluate the on-hold dramas from that month. Should they get a second chance in another month or should they just be dropped.
I think what makes this all complicated is just how many dramas are out there. It's overwhelming and that's why i try to break them down looolll.
ok, im 4.15 seconds in but like, i wont complain about these gorgeous actresses trying to dress as men and how they should get someone more believable, cause lets be real, they wouldnt be actresses then, but the least they could do is not curl her eyelashes lol XD i mean really?
bitchy 2nd female lead who's an "elite' and therefore been in france for a year for some fancy reason and comes back half way through the drama to stir up drama in a floppy beach hat and bug glasses who calls the male lead her fiance (and she is either joking about it to cause confusion towards the fl or is serious about it and they are actually engaged)
The second one kills me!! Like it doesn't make sense at all!!
got to go study overseas in america for a year. bye.. also long-distance relationships don't exist apparently, so i guess we'll have to break up. laters. XD
Oh, the wrist grab. I wince every time I see it. Even more so when the woman is dragged for a while before finally…
omg omg. the wrist grab and the speaking up. all of these issues have the same core problem. why is no one speaking up and just enduring or just letting people do whatever to you or why are you just watching dangerous, wrong things and not doing anything about it. When you need to talk to someone why do you let the smallest interruption be more important then what you need to say! if you have something important, lifechanging, life threatening to say and then the other person is like "oh sorry, i have to pick up some bread" you dont say "oh ok. no, nevermind, we'll talk later" you say, "no. you have to listen to me. forget your bread." like why? it's so illogical. no real human would be interrupted this many times, no one would not speak up. I don't care how timid you are and for god's sake, DON"T TOUCH ME is what i'd say if ANYONE tried to grab my wrist when i was mad LOL. the curly hair, freckles, braces, glasses = ugly, needs to stop, especially when said "ugly" person with these traits looks like a literal model (but western media also does this so i guess its not really a kdrama problem) woooooooooh, these are all my issues LOL. hopefully they're also relatable. I enjoyed reading your rant XD lol so i thought id post my own LOL
omg i know right. honestly the acting and settings and stuff are really good in this drama and even the story…
haha yeah, the editing was just way to weird. im sure people who read the novel would've been able to recognise the scenes but without it, the story had no structure LOL. thanks for filling in some of the details. I too wish they'd had a bit more of tien's POV in the drama. it would've made their characters more equal
