Both HHL and YGH shown their true characters. I can't really blame HHL for thinking at her career first, but was a bit disappointing to see her denying the relationship so many times, although I can see where she is coming from. But YGH has no excuses for his pettiness.

These two last episodes were awesome, 2 episodes per day are not enough, I want to see more like now! Damn!

What's with the low rating? Oh, I get it. The success of this drama in China has bothered a lot of poor minded individuals I see... How pitiful, to not have anything better to do than bashing on someone you don't like and you don't even watch his works, like if this would make your fave become better at acting... One last personal consideration before I also end things here.
The details of this show are quite realistic, not only in the props, but also in the sensitive points, which surprisingly have not been censored, and it is reflected in the respect and adherence to history, which implies many very complex issues that maybe only a chinese native person might catch while watching the show. For example, yesterday was hinted why Chunsheng's father has been undergoing examinations and has been trapped in the battle of 27 years prior. It was because his 115th Division belonged to the Fourth Field Army and was a unit commanded by Lin Biao in the Liaoshen Campaign of the Liberation War. Lin Biao was a pivotal element on carving Mao Zedong's cult of personality and later was designated his successor. We all know what Mao's era brought to the Chinese people, the Chinese people know more than anyone how it was before the opening. In the late 70s Lin Biao has been labeled as the worst traitor of the counter-revolutionary forces and blamed for the excesses of that period. So having a drama where these arguments are not censored it is already a huge step forward for the Chinese entertainment. This is why I said the drama is very well balanced when it comes to treating propaganda and political events in a light romantic themed context.

If we are to be honest, was not Xiao Zhan that drew you to The Untamed. Admittedly, you watched that drama solely because it featured another actor, not because of Xiao Zhan's performance, because you are a devoted fan of his co-star in that particular production. However, it speaks volumes about your character and loyalty to a particular fanbase when you take to the comments section of his latest drama to praise his former partner from the aforementioned show, all the while denigrating Xiao Zhan in his current project. Your actions reveal the kind of person you are, and the type of fan you align yourself with, rendering your criticism of Xiao Zhan under the guise of "in my opinion" rather pitiful.

Let's not involve politics, the OP asked if the drama has propaganda, the right answer is, there is very little propaganda for a so-called period drama based on such a heavy period as 70s-80s era, as I said in my previous reply.

This drama plot is really beautifully written, with a remarkable attention to detail in the portrayal of its characters, particularly the female ones, which has taken me by surprise. It is a true breath of fresh air, it's been quite some time since I last witnessed such beautifully depicted female characters in a c-drama. The FL display a gentle yet resolute aura, unwavering determination, kindness, and strong moral principles. The 2FL shines brightly with her vivacious spirit, filial devotion, tireless work ethic, but also a hint of selfishness that adds depth to her persona. The 3FL stands out with her intelligence, clarity of mind, and remarkable ability to seize control of her own destiny, although I must admit, her actions in the last episodes made my blood boil, but I cannot deny the commendable execution of her character's portrayal. Chunsheng's older sister emanates a gentle yet dignified aura, embodying the quintessential qualities one would expect from an elder sibling. Even Xiaohui, despite her limited screen time, exudes an irresistible passion, independence, and an enigmatic charm that leaves a lasting impression. The trite stereotypes where female characters incessantly battled amongst themselves or were burdened with unfavorable personalities we've seen in other dramas, here has been avoided fortunately. Unlike previous dramas, which often relied on a predictable formula of a virtuous female protagonist pitted against a sea of malicious supporting characters, ineffectual foils, and subservient best friends, this production defies such conventions. At least so far.
This drama has captured my heart entirely. Its fresh and well written narrative and thoughtfully developed characters have ignited my love for the genre, where previously I've never been a fan of.

There's very little propaganda imho, the drama is exceptional. Worth all the praises.

Dang girl doesn't even love him, but accused him of rape only to get rid of her marriage... I mean that was a sentence to death back then, such a selfish woman, how could she not think of his mom, she could have died of shock when she heared the news.

I don't dislike the 2FL but for some reason I can't resonate with her and I don't feel the chemistry with the ML. The only one honest with XCS is her, she always did him favors and never asked anything in return.
I quite pity XCS tbh... He fell for the wrong girl.

MDL is well known for having a thing with XZ's dramas... Ever since CQL, none of his other dramas, except Joy of life where he was just a guest role, I say none of his other shows appeared on homepage, neither on the top airing shows or on trending shows.
