I always think it’s a waste that so few editors cut Nie Sangyu or JunJiuLing. They both have good looking scenes. Even Jiman and Bai Lu have some pretty good scenes. I get tired of seeing only Xiao Feng. I think most fans are.

She has some clips that might fit. I think her support page might have a bunch of videos for promotion. If not, when I get some time I might hunt down the links.

I keep hoping someone will make English language content for her but it still seems slim. I wanted to do something for her birthday but I just don’t have the time now🥲 She did have someone posting shorts but every single one played the theme of GBMP so I stopped watching. There was also a YouTuber who translated one of her interviews and said they would do more in the future but they took it down sadly.

It was earlier this year. She studied dancing for around 3 months or so. She also studied a little bit of figure skating for Li Binghe too. And she has also done some yoga - I suspect the yoga was how she kept her poses so beautiful when Nie Sangyu jumped and fell into the water.
Her glare was super cute. I keep thinking I really should do a meme account for her because she has such great expressions 😂

I think that’s just derogatory marketing mostly aimed at PXR to cause a rift between the fanbases but luckily both are calm and are responding rationally. Even if it’s an A level drama that doesn’t mean it’s bad . It might actually be a trade-off for a better quality crew since S crews seem to be pisstakes lately. I’d rather a conscientious crew that tries to do things well with what they have than an Screw that spends all the money on candles but can’t buy a single hairpin to style the heroines hair (looking at you RoaTF). The key things to worry about are the director, screenwriter, and the stylist. If these 3 are decent, the show should at least be passing level.

I’m starting to get addicted to the song😂 I low-key hope when the show airs that fans do a dance challenge or something to it. It would be so cute and good way to promote the show.

I heard there may be another episode or something of filming for Story of the Mystic. As for Phoenix Stage, whoever it is, I hope it gets officially announced soon. I’ve seen rumours of Dec or Jan for start-up.

This. 100%. And she does it with such a clear transformation too. All of her characters transform if the story allows for it. Bright and beautiful Xiao Feng becomes suppressed and depressed. JJL gradually becomes more open and playful with ZZ. Li Binghe grows from dependent to independent. Even Bai Lu has changes- she’s way more savvy, better tempered to be empress in the later half of SJFY despite the cuts.
Bai Luo from Scent of Time showed she could still create characters that feel alive. Now just needs directors with at least this skill level. My worry for her, and also why I suspect she hasn’t taken any heroine roles is that I don’t think good teams or scripts have been coming to her. I think the fact that her “bad” dramas make money makes companies feel like they don’t have to put money into her, that while the show won’t be a hit, she can carry it and it’ll make money regardless.
Rumor has it her next drama might have martial arts. If it does, I hope the director is capable. Some fans are worried about her physical ability but she was able to perform Li Binghe which required wire work, expression management and holding certain positions. Now she’s done a few months of classical dance and fans can tell there’s been differences.

I think Xiao Feng is really unforgettable. You recognise her as soon as you see her. I feel like almost all of the little post 90s flowers are trying to recreate her effect but most only do so through marketing- none have the strength in looks and acting skills. The closest one seems to be in legal trouble so who knows if it will be released.But honestly. I’ve watched a lot of media and I’ve really never met a heroine who felt so alive, regardless of what country the drama or film is from. Xiao Feng is up there with Dorothy and Scarlet O’Hara, etc to me in terms of a classic young heroine character. It’s why I’m optimistic about Xiao Ran as long as she stays in the industry. People keep saying her acting has regressed but she’s never failed at the big moments and the only shows where this complaint crops up are dramas with extenuating circumstances. If her skills had really regressed, could she have pulled off Nie Sangyu’s scene in RoaTF? It’s arguably the most powerful scene in the whole drama.
Seeing Bai Luo recently reconfirmed my feelings. She just needs a director that cares about her acting. Xiao Feng, Li Binghe, and Bai Luo - these directors care to some extent and thus the characters are pretty and believable and the audience generally likes them. She’s been unfortunate to have Xie Ze direct 2 of her costume dramas because he obviously doesn’t care. And SJFY cut and rearranged her shots so the emotions she’s acting out don’t fit the story. I hope GJM can do her justice with her cameo. He’s challenged her acting skills before to decent success. Everyone gives Li Muge all the credit but I actually think she came to him well trained from Win the World. If he was that good he would have recreated a heroine to the level of Xiao Feng and he hasn’t. Jing Tian is his only other widely recognised by passerby beauty and she was already established too.

I agree. The lighting is crazy in this location. Again makes me wonder why directors and fans have insisted on filters for her when she suits a bit of natural lighting. A passerby once said that’s the problem with all her shooting static or dynamic since 东宫， they don’t use the natural light (except for ToDoI). There’s an AI video of her as the main character of Bending the Waist and in one of the clips of her walking past passerby for this show, there’s a split second where she looks exactly like it.

This angle has more of Wang Yilun and seems to be a better angle for PXR with the light and shadow catching more of her face.

I think I saw those stills and they’re pretty awesome. They really have a sense of story and motion!

I think it’s S class but that sometimes has little to do with the quality nowadays as there’s been a lot of S class and higher duds this year. What’s a safer bet is to usually look at the team and their track record. Not sure about most of the crew but GJM is pretty much safe on visuals. He doesn’t like ugly and probably has access to movie level pros so his dramas will at least look pretty.

Is anyone starting to look forward to the dances? I’m starting to find them interesting. I feel like as the dancers progress and get more proficient, that their temperament and character is starting to show in their dancing. It’s kinda cute and charming.

I think it can still be seen on the Chinese versions of the major platforms but it’s hard to find overseas.

This is why I think it’s one of the best tragedies I’ve ever seen. It really makes it so this ending is the best possible outcome, and the audience believes it.

There’s more scenes added in that connect the story better in the director’s cut. I believe it adds up to an additional 3 episodes. There’s also been music changes and cuts depending on the version.
