I like Peng Xiao Ran’s acting, and my initial impression of her was really good. But there were some moments…
It’s a filming, editing, and possibly post-production filter problem. There’s some shots that look like poor takes or shots that shouldn’t have made the final cut. RJL has a few of them too. The best example for the both of them is the scene after she’s eaten the poison honey. They kept the shot of her with a slipped contact lens. And there’s also a shot of RJL with a purely blank face as if preparing to film. Both of these shots should have been cut but they weren’t. It affected the overall scene and it’s a problem throughout the show. I feel like it depended on the director because there were two and many of Cangcang’s acting highlights have the same flavour suggesting they were the same person.

what’s the role of the character “Xiao Qian Qing” in this? does he have a love interest? could use the help
He’s Xiao Huan’s brother. They have a slightly fractious relationship in the beginning due to XQQ’s mother but he becomes one of Xiao Huan’s biggest supporter. He does have a love interest- Zhong Lin. He probably has the best character design in the show but I prefer the book version of him.

It’s okay to promote your fave without lying or stepping on others. Anyone who can say Peng Xiao Ran is a wooden actress must not have watched the show and I don’t understand the obsession with using this angle. That marketing tactic didn’t work in China and it won’t work here. 😂 Peng Xiao Ran’s crying game is so on point, people literally make edits of just her crying scenes.
