I thought so too but I’ve come to see it as a bit of worldbuilding. That maybe in such a dark environment, assassins take joy where they can and the flamboyance is a sign of individuality and strength. The Lantern Children and the Nameless wear very simple clothes but family heads all wear flamboyant heavy clothing.

Yeah, it was one of the early selling points of the show. That’s probably why the makeup looks heavy too. It needs to be heavy to compensate for the filters but they weren’t used here.

I agree. Mu Yumo was definitely the best choice. The role is smaller but much rarer so it’s more valuable because there are few younger actresses that can play the trickster vibe or switch between sweet and royal seamlessly. The pairing is also pretty good because almost no one gets sister dog right.
