ngl no hate but I prefer Cheng Hong Xin's portrayal of Su Mu Yu in Dashing Youth more than Gong Jun's but it could…
If it’s a short appearance, it can’t really be compared. It’s a bit of a comparing apples to oranges scenario. The audience requirements of a supporting role are generally less stringent than a lead role. Lead roles have more screen time so they have to hold the audience’s attention for longer and there’s more space for the audience to spot flaws. Leads also have more scenes to shoot so they sometimes have less time to polish their performances. Plus this SMY is a lot younger so the feeling should be different.
Please don't tell me that PXR only have 1-2 dark purple hanfus for this drama? Because I saw Gong Jun wear so…
She has a much smaller role so doesn’t need as many outfits. I think there’s maybe 5-6 outfits but it’s hard to tell them apart because they are all purple. This is okay as long as the styling suits her.
she is gorgeous and underrated. I did see a lot of the praises especially for her dubbing. a lot of people didn't…
I didn’t know this but a fan said she apparently did anime dubbing while in college. Plus she went to school for broadcasting. It makes sense because I remember when I heard her lines during the Legend of a Demon Cat sketch when I watched her on Actors Please Take Your Place, I was really impressed by her ability to mimic the original actress’s cadence.
As a Peng Xiao Ran fan today was an excellent day🥹 She has been getting so much praise on Weibo that I want to cry. Often she gets a lot of criticism when her shows air but today everyone was complimenting her beauty, acting, and her dubbing skills. Finally my girl is being seen😭
Watched 2 episodes. It’s pretty good. I can watch it which says something because I don’t like martial arts and I don’t like male centric dramas. I think the dubbing is a minor issue.
If you like LITC, go to the LITC page and praise it. That is the most effective way to promote a show as well…
I’m not a GJ fan but I’ve seen his work from even before he got famous and this is a different vibe from his other characters. It’s definitely not acting the same way. Isn’t his WoH character full of charm? Su Muyu is not like that at all so how can he be acting as the same way?

I feel like the person going crazy in the comments is a troll but I also want to speak up for Su Muyu as a character.
The whole point of Su Muyu is that he is a cool and collected guy who doesn’t fit either the typical male protagonist nor assassin vibe. He is described as “boring” by other characters so he will not be passionate and lively. And, he abhors being an assassin so he should not really be walking around full of murderous intent either. This show is also a story of “villains” and assassins so don’t look for chivalrous spirit. Su Muyu is a steady gentle character and it’s these characteristics that make him a safe haven for the other members of the zodiac squad and Su Changhe. He kills because he has to but at the end of the day, he just wants to free himself and the people he considers family. He is essentially a messiah figure but without a golden halo.
As such, what the poster is showing isn’t murderous intent, but conviction- the conviction to lead the members of Dark River to the Other Side, to a world where they don’t have to kill or live in the dark. He’s also just trying to deal with the Patriarch’s condition and the ensuing power struggle with as little cost of life as possible. It’s about protecting the ones behind him. Notice his stance. It’s not an offensive stance but a defensive one. And with the gate behind him, no one can get to his crew without going through him.
The show is based off a book and an anime. To change Su Muyu into a stereotypical hero type or assassin type is to change the whole essence of the character.

Thank you to everyone who commented, liked a post, bought a membership, or participated in the Youku app barrage.
The show also has really good stats for new Youku subscribers.🎉
