Phoenix Stage is not airing and PXR is still not joining the group this month. I'm sad. I kinda envy the other…
I basically look at it as accumulated holiday from working nonstop last year. 😂 Hopefully with the time off she can find a good script and crew to join.🙏
Ignoring Xie Ze’s weird camera movements, I still think the opening of this drama has one of Xiao Ran’s best acting scenes. Nie Sangyu’s introduction is really perfect, better than the book. She is so crazy, beautiful, and miserable without an ounce of exposition or much explanation. It’s amazing. She really feels like she has been driven crazy by her loveless marriage.
it is the push down why? it was move up now others is move up and it is the down
They might be looking at the market. There’s a lot of dramas of similar type scheduled to be released right now so it may not make sense to enter it into the fray.
She doesn’t do much marketing and she and the fanbase are really low-key so she doesn’t get mentioned as much as other stars. She switched careers in her mid-late 20s and also lost her backing in the early stages of her acting career and so there wasn’t any filming until the results of Goodbye, My Princess were known.
She’s doing better now though. She has 3 FL dramas coming and she’s currently reading the script for her next drama.
Unfortunately, it’s the benchmark now-most shows have to hit a million. But tbh, not all shows get something special for it- a lot of times it’s a poster. Two other unaired shows with PXR as FL have hit the 1 million mark and I don’t think they had trailers for reaching that milestone. I think it was just posters.
Her time with Lang Jie variety show has just ended. We're waiting for Phoenix stage / Love and Crown to air. Hope…
No , I don’t have Weibo but I do follow PXR’s news on Weibo. It true she’s not discussed much by marketing accounts but this also has advantages. There’s less negative press and less fighting with other fans than those who have a lot of marketing.
I wouldn’t worry too much. I think she’s okay for projects. A good chunk of 2023 was spent filming The Legend. And then 2024 was basically non-stop filming as FL. The only reason she hasn’t filmed this year is because she was shooting a variety show otherwise she would have shot at least one drama so far.
A lot of people were worried about her guest appearances but I think they were either favours or chances to work with different directors and different characters than she would be able to as a FL. That said, I really can’t wait for this show. Ling Cangcang seems like a really interesting character. She really seems like she has her own mind whether her actions are good are bad. It feels like a character with the potential for a lot of spirit and growth- which Xiao Ran is quite good at portraying.
Nah, the editors are very rarely mentioned personally even though they need to be. I feel the quality of director usually indicates the quality of the editor though. I can’t figure out the level of Love and Crown because some of it’s promo is outsourced.
S+ has nothing to do with quality nowadays unfortunately. It’s just about how much money was spent. I doubt they will drastically shorten the drama at this point though. If it’s passed the review with 37-38 episodes I think it should be okay but in this case shortening may not be a problem if the original script was only 25 episodes long. The extra 13 episodes might not be essential to the story. They might be filler.
Not necessarily a bad thing. I heard the original script was only 25-30 episodes apparently. It all depends on the editor, platform and producers. Cuts are only a problem if the editor is bad or producers/platform doesn’t care about the integrity of the story. Huamei lost a few episodes but I don’t think it affected the show much because it was a decent team who knew when and how to cut. Then there’s Shining Just For You…as an example of what not to do😅
