Why are we the consumer responsible for a series stats? Either its good or it's not and will naturally get good…
Um… because some people keep asking about the heat index. This is how it can be increased, Your Edgelordness. 😅Nowhere in the comment is an imperative. If you don’t want to do data, then don’t. Just because some people aren’t fans doesn’t mean everyone isn’t. This is info for those who want to support their faves or the show but don’t know how. It’s a shame that trying to help others is somehow a crime😩
IF you want to increase the show’s stats (Some people need to touch grass if merely providing info makes them so aggressive🥲): 1. Watch the show through IQIYI 2. Don’t skip the intro or outro songs 3. Don’t fast-forward 4. Keep the volume above 50% or 60%(not sure on this number) 5. Stream on multiple devices 6. If you decide to buy a membership, buy it through the show

Every time I see this sister on the stage, I wonder if she’s locked into a certain amount of episodes. Wu Xuanyi…
I agree with you. The show was definitely rigged. It’s been a mess all on Weibo. I think the crying is real from some sisters though there’s definitely some melodrama.
Basically the whole concept of the show is aged 30+ women challenging themselves on the stage through song and dance. This season seemed to be less about that and more about the reality show aspect (which a lot of people have criticised due to the malicious editing). Actually VaVa, Cecilia, and WXY are well known but not the most famous out of this cast in terms of national popularity. Those would be the older actresses and hosts. A few of them are quite famous.
I think for the younger women, it’s probably about becoming more well known. I basically don’t know any of them outside of Peng Xiao Ran, He Hongshan, Li Jiaqi and the some of the younger singers/idols you mentioned like CC, WXY, and VaVa. For others like WXY, she regards this as her last idol stage. Peng Xiao Ran wanted to challenge herself in a new area (and possibly work with some of her idols).
While I’m not sure it’s completely worth it. It can help them reach new audiences or break stereotypes. I’m a fan of Peng Xiao Ran and through this show I’ve been able to see her in more mature looks.
The description describes nothing. What is this story about?
World setting of human-demon conflict. ML and FML are trying to sort it out on the human end by eradicating the bad apples. While doing so, gets entangled with a villain who is possibly the result of the bad apple elements bringing things full circle. Surprisingly dark and bleak tone without an actual dark aesthetic. Interesting female characters, some of which I feel are the screenwriter challenging Cdrama’s obsession with good and pure female characters as if to say being so won’t necessarily get you anywhere.
It’s the director. Kisses aren’t necessary if the atmosphere is right. I watched a drama with the most romantic moment being the leads standing under the same umbrella and it was super moving and appropriate for the romance-allergic couple. With a couple like this, it’s enough for her to just rest her head on his shoulder and gaze up at the stars together.
I get why I’m loving this show. It’s really good if you like female characters with personality. 90% of the female characters have their own charm. QingIan is as sweet as pie. Zui is sassy. Yan decides her own fate. The leech demon is both tsundere and gentle. Jialan is out murking all the dragons. It even breaks the gridlock of giving a “perfect” FL by giving us bad Huaizhu.
You are right.. As someone who hates Simp characters the most, I can say that the ML have not gotten to that point…
Ah, this is so true😭 wasn’t there a show this year that actually used how often the ML stabbed the FL as a marketing point? In my opinion there aren’t enough true red flag FLs. They usually just get called red flags because they don’t love the ML enough for dream girls. I can’t stand it. I want Cdrama to show me some real bad girls😭
You are right.. As someone who hates Simp characters the most, I can say that the ML have not gotten to that point…
If we follow the logic that in idol dramas geared towards women that the ML’s devotion is the essence of their charm, then I’d argue there a very, very few MLs that are actually simps. Given the amount of red flag or scumbag MLs I’ve seen get praised for a bit of affection, imho some MLs aren’t working hard enough 😂
I can’t understand why people complain about ML and actor cuz they are both superb. I have just finished watching…
Maybe stop watching idol dramas? They have never been about acting skills but looks. It’s like a training wheel program for younger actors to build skills and the requirements aren’t so high. If you’re looking for acting skills, it’s better to head to serious dramas.
And Hong Ye is not a simp. He’s just someone who sees the bigger picture. If he doesn’t play the game with…
Tbh, I hate the word simp. It wasn’t being used when I first came to MDL but now I see it everywhere and it’s a bit off putting. What some viewers don’t seem to realise is that a lot of idol dramas either come from or are created as content for women and thus many of the MLs are supposed to be ideal boyfriends. In the eyes of many creators this often requires them to have a certain level of devotion and in some blogs on the subject that I’ve read, some people feel the ML’s key purpose is show how devoted he is to the FL -the more devoted, the better. If someone doesn’t want to see this, they’re better off looking at BL, martial arts, serious costume dramas, or dramas created for male audiences.
Hong Ye seems a bit overconfident in his abilities and underestimates the nature of others but if this is a true tragedy, then the show might not fix this flaw.
He looks fine. And he visually works as a serious and righteous leader. There’s a quiet gravitas about him. This…
It’s never too late. Film studies is very interesting and add layers to the viewing experience-especially with analysis. Like with this show, I feel the editor has worked really hard😅 I don’t think the scripts that bad so far but I think the director is definitely one of the weaker ones. It’s really a shame because I think the show has some decent foundations that with a better director could take it to a higher level. It’s got this interesting grim dark setting without the grime of the genre. It’s got a clear worldview and setting. There’s a strong core theme and som interesting smaller ones. Also, some people don’t like Bad Huaizhu but it’s actually interesting how she used the affection of two men to achieve her goals- it felt very much like a big heroine in that part of the arc.

I feel like I have spent more time trying to figure out what happened in the underground prison than I did on my undergrad thesis.
