I like this show (I rewatch it all the time š ) but the more I see negative comments about the FL, the more I wished the drama had kept her characterisation and storyline closer to the original book. They really weakened her in the drama even though sheās still an astute businesswoman. Itās a heroine led novel. Thereās no manic pixie dreamgirl whoās sole purpose is to bring light to a manās world, but a smart woman who puts herself first and will do whatever it takes to survive and thrive-(with or without her husbandš). Book Jiman is so clever, self-reliant, and full of schemes and ways to make money that readers can really spend 500+ chapters not caring about the romance or other characters because she and the wild af plot are so interesting. According to the book, at the beginning, they should be in a one sided love hate relationship because they come to like each other before marriage but then something happens between them to sour the relationship and the FL both loves and hates the ML for a bit. I donāt think the ML ever stops loving her though he was suspicious of her first. In the drama, it seems he then forces her to marry him (in the book she agrees) and they have a volatile relationship for the first few years until they learn to better understand each other.
