The waist cincher/ belts are driving me crazy. They are not in the right place , making waists look wide, which is the opposite of their function🙂‍↕️I don’t pay much attention to BHH but I think her outfits look too costumy too. Costumes shouldn’t really look like costumes. They should look like real clothing otherwise a crucial element for world building has been missed. I think (rich) Huang Wei would have given a better effect if the show wanted fantasy elements.

It’s really just the costume dragging her . Otherwise her looks are top notch, especially the makeup😭

I have a feeling YXY’s specialty is probably armor and she’s more comfortable doing men’s clothing. Her men’s costumes generally have a higher lower limit and there usually no big problems with her armor. But she’s strange in that she doesn’t seem to understand in either Chinese or Western clothing how to translate her vision for ecletism, color, and experimentation into costumes that feel fresh or “real”. It seems she want to follow western silhouettes for AHZ female roles, specifically western superhero and fantasy costumes, but she doesnt seem to understand the charm points or structure enough to pick and choose or convey it. In AHZ the bodices and waist cincher aren’t tailored or structured well enough and the fabrics for the female characters don’t feel high quality enough to give the costume grounding.

Mu Yumo is one of the Zodiacs. They protect the Leader of Dark River. Su Muyu is basically the head of them and is the chief bodyguard.

While watching the anime, I got the impression his strongest relationship is with SMY but they feel like brothers- it’s completely platonic. MYM has a little sister vibe with both of them too but though it’s more distant, SCH actions and sometimes his words say there’s interest romantically. My thought while watching was if and when things calm down in his life, it seems like SCH might pursue MYM.

He might have a crush on MYM. They were my favourite characters and pairing in the anime. I thought they had an interesting dynamic. He seemed to be silently protecting her a few times.

MYM is all those things but primarily in dark colors. I feel like YXY probably won’t stray from this though I hope to be proved wrong . The model I wished they had used is really gorgeous but the design is grounded. But is her when she’s older.

It’s YXY tho😅 Given MYM’s look is purple for the anime, I don’t think she will change much🙂‍↕️Sadly, it’s good enough it’s not a carbon copy of YXY’s other shows.
