The ending is a bit strange for sure. I think if they get high viewerships, they could continue another season.
A lot of scenes are edited out in the last eps, as China censorship NRTA has tight regulations on drama depictions that has historical events. Most viewers guess is the actual plot developments could not pass censorship so a lot got edited off. So we get this confusing ending.

Why give us sweet LW and ST in ep 16 only to open it this way in 17?!!! Her sister, Boss Zhang, has just commented that LW is unreliable and cannot be trusted and immediately he stabbed her next day!! Come on, let me enjoy their CP for a while more!

Same!! My 6th sense has been tingling since they completed the drama shoot in 2021. Hoping for an above average reception for this. Lyt's recent dramas have been lacklustre, and I really like her and hope this is good

This is GREAT!! Love the opening intro and first ep! Love the way the main characters are introduced. Unless there's other big dramas premiering, this should be the costume drama to watch!

Yes... a drama with such a story should have been 40 eps. They edited out so much, that Zhu Zheng Ting who is supposed to be ML2 feels more like a guest appearance, and Kim Jin becomes ML2 🙂
Although I completed this drama I was very unimpressed. The FL acting was terrible, ok, maybe not her acting but…
ahhh I believe this drama should have been 40 eps. it could have spent first 6 or so eps on BL's life as xiao ye in her tribe. then we would get to see more of her, Rui, and ywy before the emperor came and the snow wolf was killed. I agree the relationships these 3 have with each other are not properly shown, hence we can't feel the emotional connections FL has with Rui and ywy
