It is never made clear. I personally think it was the medicine lord's daughter's bird, which is why Lingxi went…
Ah... I probably need to rewatch that few episodes. Have thought it is the medicine lord's daughter, but she is annoying not vicious. The bird... thought birds are afraid of cats and dogs? Yuan Tong... but this seem too small matter for her to waste time on, mmmm. The mystery of Xiao Bai's murder, lol
This is a very detailed review! Just want to ask who do you think murdered the 1st pet, Xiao Bai? Not sure if I missed it, but it wasn't revealed who killed it? Or could it be an act within an act:- it was too difficult to shoot with a live dog, so production removed it and replaced with CGI....
There are lots of "Eternal love". I'm confused with what I have to watch.
Lol..... the irony is, not all of the Chinese titles have the words eternal or love in them. China drama production is just stuck in a loop with the word "love"
I agree. I thought he should have played her dad. Or they should have gotten a older FL.
I'm 1/3 thru and still the pairing does not work for me (I imagine Ni Ni with Wallace Hao, or Yang Mi with Chang Chen). But, the leads' acting is phenomenal!! I don't like melodramas, with such good acting however, it makes the over-the-top tragedies in the story easier to accept.
What novel? Would you mind providing the title. I've been looking for one when it was just 10 episodes before.
Thank you for the link! Still sad that we have to imagine their happy-ever-after, would prefer if the director had shoot some cheesy scenes of them with kids and all.
I really don’t understand why some people are saying to skip from episode 24..I’m actually on episode 30 and…
Really??!! I need this comment.... just start watching this and at ep 22 and getting the vibe this would be a melodrama aka Taiwanese style. I don't like over-the-top tragedies, and now she is exchanging her hearing for that fire, which means she would be deaf-mute for a while? All the tragedies in TMOPB and AOL (Ashes of Love) pale in comparison with this!
NiNi. I managed to finish it thanks to her. Story wise it was really boring I also never get the hype
Admire your perseverance! If a drama still fail to captivate me by ep 4, 5 I would have dropped it. Unless you are watching it for a particular actor? I've completed whole dramas that are duds .... just for 1 lead actor or because the main leads have good chemistry.
I really like Na Guang Zi (Shi San) **hearts, hearts** From her profile, this seems to be her first role in a drama? Applaud her courage to attempt the Shi San character! Most actresses would have turned this role down. A minor supporting character, and a half man-woman too.... whose main purpose is to create comedy :))
The main leads and supporting are great in their roles except..... Karina Hai (Yuan Tong). I'm quite disappointed with her performance here, having seen her in Go Princess Go, Memory Lost, etc which she did well. Not sure if this is poor acting or poor direction from director, she played Yuan Tong so flat -_- I kept thinking about Jin Guangyao in Untamed, if only she could act Yuan Tong in similar way
Just starting on this drama.... does anyone feel the CGI in ep 1 is quite deja vu? When FL fell into the ice palace, I was thinking she had fallen into Frozen. Then she flew through Avatar (the floating rocks in sky), then she rode on the dragon (How to Train Your Dragon) LOL
Jokes aside, it is not bad so far. Unlike the other comments here, I feel ML is not too old. Although I would prefer if FL is Yang Mi. Maybe it is just me, but I prefer the pairing of Yang Mi with him.
Agree with the comments here about the movie plot being fragmented and difficult to understand. They should have done it like Lord of the Rings:- instead of cramming the entire story into 1 movie, split it into 2, or 3 for a more fluid and clear storytelling. Or at least, remove Mo Yuan's character because it is really confusing for the viewer if he/she had not known the story beforehand. Acting-wise, Yang Yang is a decent Ye Hua; while Crystal Liu.... the parts when she was "drinking wine", you don't feel she is really drinking wine, just doing the actions of holding the bottle to the lips. I much prefer Yang Mi's portrayal of Bai Qian.
You understand why Ye Hua falls in love with Bai Qian, and vice versa in the drama version. But in this movie version, we are just being told "they fall in love" and that's it. I can hardly make it halfway through this movie -_-"
Good question! Lol... luckily, I already made a list of that. Check my list here:https://kisskh.at/list/Y4a7Mx5L
Thank you for checking my reviews. I have the habit of editing comments and reviews... Recently learned if choose delete, MDL has the annoying tag of [deleted]...
Miss S rights for overseas telecast is bought by HBO. I'm not sure if we'll ever get the Eng subs at free streaming sites, or would need to buy HBO subscription? HBO is also promoting it as a 30 ep drama, shorter than the original... might be heavily edited. It is a pity becos Miss S is a very good drama. Even I am waiting for the Eng subs becos at parts where dialogues involve Mathematics, Chemistry and History, I was quite lost... I studied Chinese as a 2nd lang, hurts my head to have to understand such topics in Chinese, lol!
Thanks, I will check Trace. Or I might start on A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower. Not really watching any drama at the moment, started a few but couldn't go pass initial few episodes. Crossfire and It's Okay to not be Okay among them... these are highly recommended with very good reviews but I just couldn't get into them ^_^"

Fans quarrel over top billing, actor change alot... Not just in China, in Korea and other countries too. I haven't started on Ever Night so can't really comment... But you can search for reviews and vlogs on YouTube. Someone would have talked about the Ever Night controversy. There are Chinese vloggers who video in English ;)
