let’s just start over. So I am not one for damsel in distress but I don’t mind Khem. He is just this soft and gentle soul. I think Namping does so well playing him too from what I hear of people who have read the book. He is also a little bit more sassy, too. This character is not meant for those who like someone high energy and in your face, or straight forward and direct. Also I think he shows a lot of emotions. He’s not monotoned and lifeless. Just subtle. That and he has this feminine aura to him that makes him even more pretty I think(that is making his personality seem more pretty). He’s someone who can be treated gently like a beautiful flower blossom, and I love it.
He matches well with Master Peem perfectly too. He’s cold but calm like a winter morning while Khem is warm, steady and gentle like a spring day. Perfect!
Going back to Namping, in the Marvel fandom there was this joke that the cast were all created in a factory and then let loose on the world to make a name for themselves before being cast in what they were created for. I think this describes Namping play Khem perfectly. I can’t see anyone else playing Khem as well. Also like Boss and Smart as Akin and Jun. All just made for it!

they might be thinking that he is just boring in this show which is not true. I love how soft, sweet, and gentle Khemjira is and adore how Namping acts him out. Some people need characters and plots that are constantly high energy and fast pace to enjoy it. But this, putting aside the action parts, is like You Are My Sky for me. This show puts a lot into the art of creating a beautiful moment with impactful and emotional depth. I love feeling every bit of the deep emotions this moment brings especially after all the pushing and pulling, needing and denying, wanting and resisting these two went through. I also will harp on the pace here because it is slow for a reason. This show does what I wish most bls would do and that is focus on the audience being invested in the characters. these last few eps have done this very well with Khem and Master Peem which helps their intimate scenes even more. They really worked up to that moment and it makes the scene just that much more beautiful. I also love how they didn’t just go all the way like Charn and Jet. When they actually do make love for the first time, we will all feel it in our souls for those with the patience enough to wait for it.
