I was sooo happy with episode 15, seeing the cuteness overload of our two couples. I thought, what a perfect way to end the series! Maybe we'll see two weddings and kids next episode! Then I saw the preview.....
Unbelievable. Instead of a force breakup or separation in Ep 14/15, they're giving us the break up/separation in the last episode after such a sweet and cute episode. And how coincidental is that? The guy who cheated him of his life savings back then and broke his trust, was her useless father who just run off, deserting everyone. Oh come on! I know they'll get back but still, hate that they do this in the last episode. They should have just reverse Ep 15 and 16 so we end on a cute note.
I think tvN threw in the 3 SLs as an insurance. SIG is not popular amongst Korean viewers hence the drama may…
Thanks so much for the detailed explanation! Much appreciated. I didn't know that much about SIG as I haven't seen him in any dramas before. I had heard about how good he was in The Smile Has Left Your Eyes but knowing the controversial Japanese story of them being siblings, and the tragic ending, I didn't watch the Korean version even though I know it wouldn't have the former.
SIG is a fantastic actor. Because I'm currently watching half a dozen Kdramas now, I could compare his acting chops against the others, and he comes out top. He acts with his eyes, many can't. You can see the emotions in his eyes and face, like his pain, whereas many of the actors are dead in the eyes. He becomes his character, he's no longer acting. Superb acting skills. I'll be catching some of his older dramas I saw many mentioned where he's good.
I'm sorry he went through all that blackballing - hopefully he rises again. His chemistry with PBY is superb too. She's a great actress but I've seen her shows before and girl can act. Together, they make DaYs. I'm sorry that there's not much love or appreciation in their motherland, the show deserves better.
I'm gonna miss this drama - it surprised me how fond I grew of it, week by week. It's not gonna hit the best kdramas list but it was a lot better than I expected. I was off kdramas for most of this year and just wanted a light dramas after a few too heavy ones like Beyond Evil and Mouse. Thanks to I married an anti-fan, I got back into kdramas and am watching Doom at Your Service, My roommate is a Gumiho, Monthly Magazine Home, At a distance, Spring is Green - filling up my week with kdramas again.
I must say, the two SLs are the most toxic and dysfunctional I've come across in a long while. Both are really awful, unlikeable characters. MSL is just so jealous and envious, he sabotages his and FSL's careers just obsessing with ML instead of concentrating on building their careers. SFL is equally awful, doing all sorts of things like stealing his song and releasing it, and justifying it like ML owes her a living. They are bad for each other and should not be together.
Now, our two ML and FL are a delight. They grew on each other and learnt to like and support each other over time. They each became more likeable over time, and their romance is sweet, built upon mutual trust, support and affection - healthy, the opposite of the SLs.
I will be sorry to see them go honestly. I thank this show for reviving my interest in kdramas again.
I am traumatized. Wow. That pair of toxic abusive parents - they're horrifying. Both parents are abusive psychopaths. Don't know who is worse, the physically abusive father or the emotionally and verbally abusive mother who asked the son to stay back just for the husband to beat him up. What a terrible house to grow up in. It's left both brothers emotionally scarred. The show started off so bright I wasn't expecting so much darkness so early on. I'm scarred, it was so distressing to watch.

Ah , interesting insight. I was wondering why it wasn't on Netflix as it seem up Netflix's alley. Doom is a much more superior show to Abyss, which was so terrible, I dropped it after just the first episode. I haven't seen SIG in anything before but heard he was superb in that Japanese adaption.
Did the ratings drop so much? I saw an article on Soompi and Doom top the ranking for most buzz in the second week of May, and both actors were No 1, SIG and No 2 PBY. So they can't be doing badly.
I still have zero interest in the side story of the love triangle , which has no intersection with the main story, and the 3, at this moment, are just background noise. It just makes the episodes lag and get dull in parts but I live for the, so far, spectacular endings of each episode. Wonder if the writer can carry that momentum.

This is kind of ridiculous, it's not like he's a big enough actor to be able to forge his medical tests results. Knetz always cancel any of them if they get exempt for some genuine reasons. Like, what can he do?
JJ is extremely pathetic, who sees people living their lives and decides to stalk them wth
Yep, he's very annoying with his psycho level of jealousy instead of working hard on himself and his company. All he does is spend his time platting and planning against MNL instead of living his best life. All that money, and his world is so tiny. Sad really. Pathetic too.
I thought the same about singing. Just watched episode 5. And when he sang with the musicians on the street, I…
Yea, all the shows the last few months were all dark and heavy -Mouse, Beyond Evil etc etc. I liked this show, just simple, nice , sweet and makes me smile occasionally.

Was just rewatching True Beauty with a friend tonight, and yes, Cha Eun Woo would have been great in this role! He's definitely an idol singer school girls would swoon over!
I'm so glad I stuck with the show because Ep 8 was it. The ending made me squeal in delight! This episode had all the emotions and the ending was a nice pay off. I like how slowly he's coming to like her, even if he can't fully trust her. I like how the FL really convey her FML when she was upset and miserable at the end, but she's still feisty enough to tell him off. Now to wait a week for the next episode.
Oh, I basically ignore the SML and SFL because they're both so annoying. Him because it's obvious he's jealous to a crazy degree and has an inferiority complex, and he's devious and cunning. Her because, girl, just break off with him already, he's treating you like a side plaything and he obviously is sabotaging your career, plus, you're crying every day and are super miserable.
The ML looks totally different from shows I've seen him in before. He's lost weight and he looks so different.
