You can watch S2 and not really miss a lot. The main characters in S2 (other than Teacher Kim, of course) are independent of the S1 story. Although, of course, you will appreciate S2 better because of the storylines of the support characters which are a continuation of that of S1. But you'll get the story because they feature flashbacks, anyway. =)
TEACHER KIM’s blunt attitude towards WJ is a rehash of his initial attitude towards SJ (DR. YOON) in S1.
MINISTER’S AIDE is one of the loan sharks who beat up WJ!!! EDIT: Sorry, I was mistaken. He is not one of the loan sharks. I just thought that way bec WJ was looking at him and his wounded hand. So, I thought he was one of the 2 loan sharks who beat him up earlier. Sorry. =)
Why is EVIL DIRECTOR DO still unpunished??!!! Now, he’s chairman, too! Also, his minion DR. SONG! This is so unfair to TEACHER KIM and all their victims!
And why is TEACHER KIM’s reputation still tarnished – and negative – after that miraculous surgery he performed on CEO SHIN in S1??
Why did EJ study to be a surgeon when she hyperventilates and feels nauseated when she’s in an operating room? She also can’t stay awake during an operation!
SJ feeling DJ’s forehead to check if he’s hot – but she was wearing surgical gloves! Is it really possible for her to check if he’s hot wearing gloves??
That SOMETHING that happened 20 YEARS AGO that CEO SHIN is keeping from TEACHER KIM will be the key. I think TK misread the CEO when he told DJ that he (CEO) and DIRECTOR DO are on the “same team.” I believe the CEO knows TK is innocent and was unjustly blacklisted that’s why he insist on having him as his surgeon.
This episode, I believe, has the most numbers of product placements so far. There’s Papa Johns pizza, Estee Lauder makeup, Agatha jewelry. Those are just the obvious ones. I might have missed some. =)
I don’t get why SJ had to return the necklace from DJ. She says she likes him, too, right? So, that excuse (accident 5 years ago) is a VERY lame excuse, if you ask me.
The epilogue where MANAGER JANG is singing WHITE CHRISMAS to NURSE OH is missing in the N****x copy. Wonder why N****x butchers some series/episodes??
The “eavesdropping” trope is overused in this episode. In less than 8 minutes, we see:
1 DJ eavesdropping on IB and TEACHER KIM convo 2 SJ eavesdropping on TEACHER KMI-NURSE OH convo 3 TEACHER KIM eavesdropping on DJ-SJ while practicing 4 SONG eavesdropping on TEACHER KIM’s announcement
I’m not a fan of this trope. I believe this is a very lazy device a writer uses to advance a story.

I don’t get why TEACHER KIM didn’t even welcome CEO SHIN when he arrived at the hospital. The CEO did his end of their bargain, after all. And he is still CEO and should have been accorded the proper respect by TEACHER KIM. SJ is good, yes, but she is only the FIRST ASST.
Obviously, the CEO will eventually warm up to SJ, so there’s this need to show that he was loathe to the idea of having a woman doctor initially. Still, the snub by TEACHER KIM of the CEO’s arrival was uncalled for. He was just OUTSIDE the door, so what’s the point of not even saying hello?
Why did the CEO SHIN have to have DL beaten when he just wants to talk to him?? I don’t understand this unnecessary violence (on the part of the CEO and the writer of this series).
At this point, I have no idea why TEACHER KIM resents SJ so much after operating on her wrist. Still waiting for a reason/logic to this attitude.

I wonder why DIRECTOR DO is so angry at TEACHER KIM (DR. BOO YONG-JOO) and why Doldam DIRECTOR YEO seem to also hate DIRECTOR DO. Does YEO really not know TEACHER KIM’s real name? Or is he covering up for him? Hope we’ll find out soon.
That scene where DJ finally answer his mother’s call – after performing an unsuccessful surgery – was very powerful. He conveyed his grief without even saying a word. Bravo, YYS!

Thanks, Miao! I get what you mean, but I believe there are other ways of doing it so that it didn’t feel dragging and lethargic. The penultimate episode was so full of action that’s why the finale suffered in comparison. It was so slow yet felt rushed because of some development in other characters’ story (like JWOO is now abroad, just a few minutes after she talked about that plan). We also don’t know what happened to JUNG MI-SUK (the last victim). I don’t know, sorry if feel different from you, but I really felt disappointed in the finale. To be exact, in the last half of the series. =(
The penultimate episode felt like a finale (in terms of pacing and action), and the finale felt like an epilogue. It’s like the series came to a screeching halt during the finale. It was so anticlimactic that I watched it at 1.5 sped – just to get it over and done with. I’d give the first half of the series a 9/10 rating, but the rest felt like a 7/10.

This is an important and a “big night” for YEOM. So why is there only ONE bodyguard with him when he’s dealing with THAT big amount of money – and a key person (HS)? Not realistic, no? The first time HS was there, that small room was crowded with bodyguards, right? Now, only ONE?? Whatda??
When HS and JW overpowered YEOM, why didn’t HS take the photo YEOM pocketed? He was supposed to get it that night, right? Also, he should have taken the money back!
When YEOM was at the hospital, why is there only ONE guard to accompany him?? He is a BIG-TIME CRIMINAL, my goodness!!!
So, we have THREE whatda moments in one episode!! So far, these are the biggest lapses in the series so far that’s hard to overlook.
This is the third Korean series I’ve watched that featured the board game GO (BADUK). First was REPLY 1988 with Tak (played by Park Bo-gum) as a world baduk champion. Then there’s THE GLORY, with YEO-JEONG (Lee Do-Hyun) teaching DONG-EUN (Song Hye-kyo) how to play the game; DO-YOUNG (actor Jung Sung II) even put baduk tables at a park. But this is the only series that makes an analogy of corporate life (and life in general) to a baduk game. And it does that ever so seamlessly. I love this series! 10/10
