EPISODE 16 (finale)
THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING
(Please don’t read if you have haven’t watched it yet)

WONDERING: When MR. JANG saw the BISHOP, he recognized him as their new “client” who pretended to be the father of LEE SI WAN when he rode DOGI’s taxi, right? MR. JANG and the team had been in constant communication with DOGI. So, why was DOGI surprised to learn now that the “client” is the BISHOP? No one told him about it earlier?? Hmmmm….

So, we meet the first driver of Rainbow Taxi, a FEMALE! From the comments, I learned she’s a famous actress who starred in a hit series before. A cameo role! A surprising – and quite a lazy way out, writers! Haha! My eyes rolled once again. Ok, I understand, this was for the ratings game. Fine.

We are served our FIFTEENTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. This time, courtesy of a female character (cameo role), the first taxi driver of Rainbow Taxi, according to MR. JANG. Of course, not one good remained standing.

So, we’ve come to the FINAL BATTLE. This is, of course, between DOGI and HA-JOON. Venue: rooftop. Audience: the BISHOP (with a gun!). Fight started at 48:07 mark, with 19 minutes left in the finale.

YIKESSS!!! That was quite unexpected! I knew in my mind that it will be HA-JOON to take the BISHOP down, but how THIS way. Hope HA-JOON survives.

And… now that all the BISHOP’s minions are locked in, let’s serve the SIXTEENTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. This broke Season 1’s record of TWELVE such fights. So…

SEASON 1 = 12 one-versus-two-or-more fight scenes
SEASON 2 = 16 one-versus-two-or-more fight scenes

Then… it’s ONE YEAR LATER. And time for the last-minute PRODUCT PLACEMENTS. Haha! Guys have to earn, folks! – to bring us all a THIRD SEASON!

Are we going to know what happened to the bad guys?? Or we’ll just assume that they’re all taken care of by good policemen??

DOGI reenters the military force? And we’re served our second CAMEO in the person of another actress from a famous series (haven’t watched her yet, but I read the comments). She saluted DOGI, but he just walked past her. Ouch. What was that??

Just 3 more minutes left. We see DOGI ride the premium taxi again. Wait… didn’t he return to the army?? So confused now.

And we are given the seeds of another case – at the tail end of the finale. Which means…. SEASON 3!!!

Am I excited? Not much. Will we see more of those unbelievable one-against-two-or-more fight scenes? If so, count me out. I’ve had my fill.

BEST IN ACTING: SHIN HAE JAE as HA-JOON, hands down. The rest were either overdoing it (hammed it) or were given bad instructions by the director.

EP 15 FIGHT SCENES – BEYOND RIDICULOUS
THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING
(Pls don’t read if you haven’t watched it yet)

We have our EIGHTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. Though the fight wasn’t shown, it was implied that newbie inmate DOGI trashed all FOUR veteran inmates (they were shown with cuts and bruises and suddenly beholden to DOGI).

So, our 3 heroes had themselves jailed to save one person? And they didn’t even vet if the one who got their service is his real father? (We all know it’s the BISHOP who pretended to be the father).

At the prison mess hall, we are served our NINTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. It’s DOGI versus the prison toughies. He pretended to be a PSYCHO (!) and took down ALL OF THEM using 2 big kitchen SPOONS. Another look-to-the-sky moment. Another fight scene that wasn’t filmed in its entirety, we are just shown the outcome (all of them are now scared of DOGI. Sheesh).

SO, THE LESSON HERE IS: Just pretend to be LOONEY and everyone will bow to you and serve you like a king?? Again, another senseless idea, writers! And again, another caricature acting by our ML. I thought his character in that voice phishing case is the pits. Nope, THIS ONE takes the cake! Haha! Looney acting complete with tongue wagging! Ewww.

When DOGI pretended to be LEE SI WAN’s best friend, didn’t the thugs smell something?? Are they all that DENSE???

After DOGI was told to go back to his cell (he was supposed to leave with the 2 stooges + LEE SI WAN), at sleeping time, we are served our TENTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. It looks like Season 2 is catching up with Season 1’s TWELVE such fights!!! Just TWO more to go to tie Season 1!!!

And suddenly, DOGI is not a psycho anymore!! So, how will that affect the “fear” everyone has of him? Will they see him as a mere jerk now? Will they realize how st***d and gullible they all were for believing his act?

YAYYY!!! HA-JOON is here! And he brought bad news: the bus carrying the 2 stooges and LEE SI WAN didn’t reach its destination. Were the 3 killed?? Hmmm…

But wait… there’s more!! GO-EUN was also taken by HA-JOON’s men!!

12 MIDNIGHT. PRISON. We are served our ELEVENTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. It’s DOGI vs one cell of thugs. This is when our eyebrows will start raising again.

Then, another cell opens up for our TWELFTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. Now, Season 2 is tied with Season 1 for the number of such fights! And by the looks of it, Season 2 will definitely break Season 1’s record!! I wonder who’s jumping with glee?? Definitely not me! Haha!

Two groups at midnight – and not even a scratch!!! Call the Guinness Book of World Records!!!

Ok, here’s the THIRTEENTH fight scene. DOGIE vs THREE (or was that FOUR) GROUPS – all at once?? My eyes!!! Please stop it from rolling!!! Haha!! I’m now watching at 1.5 speed. Let’s get it over and done with, Director!!!

Now he has scratches – and blood dripping from a cheek gash. That’s more like it, Director! More realistic!

But… ALL the downed men are writhing in pain?? Caused by ONE man??? Haha!!! Ok, fiction, you say. Laughable, I say. Shall I continue watching? Just 17 minutes left to this penultimate episode, so… let’s continue… at 1.5 speed. Then, off to the finale to see who they will wrap everything up!

Wait… there’s MORE???? Yayy!!! That’s a LOOOOOT of thugs there!!! And they have weapons (I see golf club and is that a butcher’s knife??). So this will be our FOURTEENTH one-versus-many ridiculous fight scene.

Meanwhile, MR. JANG woke up (also from a beating – but not a ridiculous one) and he’s now facing the BISHOP at a dining table. And MR. JANG is calling the BISHOP “a psycho” to his face!! Haha!

NEWS REPORT. Then a FLASHBACK showing MR. JANG realized the prison was a setup. Oh geez. So, all of them risked their lives to save a STRANGER??? Ok, let’s play along. Just 4 minutes left, and then…. Finale!

CLILFFHANGER: HA-JOON aims a gun at DOGI, then a gunshot is heard as the screen turns black.

But what good is such cliffhanger if it’s followed right away by a preview of the FINALE showing a very much alive DOGI?? Haha!!

See you at the finale!

I am on episode 2 and wondering about this glaring continuity issue. The big guy is in the room when Kim Do Gi…
Yup, noticed that, too. This was my comment about that:

BIG GUY was inside when DOGI singlehandedly brought down ALL the men. When we cut to the chairman OUTSIDE (someone reported to him about the “trouble” inside), BIG GUY is suddenly there, too! How did that happen?? Haha!

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING EP 14
(Pls don’t read if you haven’t watched it yet)

OMG! The BISHOP is played by PARK HO SAN!! Haha! Just watched him as the eldest of 3 brothers in MY AJUSSHI (aka MY MISTER) and as ML’s cellmate in PRISON PLAYBOOK! He’s everywhere!!! Haha! And in both series I mentioned, the characters he played are comedic ones, so I can’t quite take him seriously now. EDIT: But he’s scary in the end of this ep!!!

FLASHBACK: THE DEATH OF DETECTIVE CHOI. So, like DOGI, they made him drink that liquor/potion. We later learn it’s GHB (Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid) which, when mixed with alcohol, makes the drinker follow simple commands. Hmmm… So, there’s really such a thing?? Or is this Harry Potter material? (EDIT: Did a quick Google search and it says GHB is an intoxicant, used as an athletic-performance enhancer, as a date-rape drug, and a recreational drug.

WHO DOUBLE CROSSED WHO?? It’s the police officer (soon to be Commissioner?) PARK HYUN JO vs HA-JOON. It’s obvious there is a power struggle between these two.

At 47-minute mark, our Rainbow team is on the move. It seems exciting, though tbh I’m clues about what they’re doing! Haha! Our two stooges switched a clipboard at the incinerator cell and bugged the entrance. But why? I’m sure we’ll learn soon enough. Only less than 15 minutes left to this ep.

Oh, so this is a FLASHBACK scene! It’s showing how the team switched the real drugs with flour! Haha! Ok… got it.

But still… at this point, it’s not clear to me yet who sabotaged who? Did the Rainbow team do it with the help of the police? Did they act on their own? Who did they implicate? We still have 12 minutes left.

HA-JOON (looking up to DOGI on the second floor) mouthed: “See you soon. I’ll kill you myself.”

So, our hope that HA-JOON will switch to the Rainbow team’s side is now shattered with that statement? Oh no!!!

AT THE TRIAL of Black Sun group and some high-ranking police officers, they are pointing at each other as to who is responsible for the death of DET. CHOI. They’re given the life sentence.

And PARK HYUN JO is now on the wanted list!!

What about HA-JOON??

Oh… There he is… in the same room as OFFICER HYUN JO. And… he just strangled the police officer to death. Yikes!!!

And the BISHOP almost killed HA-JOON, too – but gave him another chance.

CLIFFHANGER: DOGI’s next passenger si…. THE BISHOP!!!! Yikes!!!

Ok, this is interesting. So many things have happened in this episode, so many that it feels rushed. But, it’s okay, really. We have the last two eps saved for the final battle between good and evil.

Fasten your seatbelts!!!

OH… and now that they know (they SHOULD no?) that HA-JOON will be hunting them, they should move out of their underground lair. Remember HA-JOON “accidentally” discovered its entrance? (Though he didn’t go all the way in, he for sure knows – or SHOULD know – it’s an entrance to something secret).

EP 13 REACTION(pls don’t read if you haven’t watched it yet)OH PULEEEZZ!! If they really wanted to kill DOGI,…
Here's ANOTHER illogical scene from EP 13: DOGI was falsely charged with molestation by a woman in the BLACK SUN. REPORTER got him out. He has a footage of the woman entering the venue AFTER Dogi was taken by the police.

QUESTION 1: REPORTER took a video of that woman coming in. How did he know which woman to take a video of when Dogi at that time still wasn’t accused of molestation?

QUESTION 2: Why did the Black Club people choose THAT lady, of all people, to make the molestation charges?? They could have used WINDY since she was knows Dogi from the day he pretended to be a customer, right? Or any OTHER lady, for that matter. Why someone who came in later?? Doesn’t make sense to me.

QUESTION 3: The molestation charge was just an ADDED charge. There were 2 other charges before that, right? So, those don’t count all of a sudden? That’s why they released him right away? This also doesn’t make sense.

I think he broke her hand so that she could never do surgery again if she ever wanna change her name in the future.…
Thanks for your reply. But that is just a guess, right? There was nothing in the scene (or later) that clearly says what he did to the hospital director/doctor, or was there? 🙁
Replying to YeoRinie Apr 14, 2023
If they did that, they would have drawn attention to them since he is their employee. Their method was better…
I think you’re all forgetting that these guys have the police under their control. So, a “suicidal rooftop fall,” say, of an employee (DOGI), will do. Or, “he went crazy and attacked us so we had to defend ourselves” alibi will suffice. So, no need for such clumsy “drugged man crossing a busy street” scenario, right?
Replying to YeoRinie Apr 14, 2023
If they did that, they would have drawn attention to them since he is their employee. Their method was better…
They definitely wanted him dead, right? So, how is their method “better” if there’s a chance that he’ll survive?? And he did survive, right? Crossing a busy street while intoxicated or drugged is no guarantee that one will surely die. Drivers can stop and help him, seeing that he's having a problem. They might think he's having a heart attack or something. So, I don't think their method was "better." Surely there are lots more better ways. Peace! =)
Replying to Silent Heart Apr 14, 2023
the thing is they do not want any evidence to remain that "this is a murder" they want to show that as a suicide…
They wouldn’t have bothered staging his "middle of the road" death if he is regarded as just a “mere employee.” He is suspect now -- and guilty in their eyes -- that’s why they had to eliminate him. This gang is no stranger to killings and rape, so why make an exception with a “mere employee”?? Remember they also killed a policeman (friend of the reporter) and later staged it to appear as suicide.

Yeah, I know. But there's LOGICAL fiction and there's ILLOGICAL fiction. The former makes sense, the latter doesn't. =)

EP 13 REACTION
(pls don’t read if you haven’t watched it yet)

OH PULEEEZZ!! If they really wanted to kill DOGI, they should have strangled, stabbed or shot him in the van, instead of making him cross a busy road while intoxicated. Or they could have killed him right there in Black Sun and dump his body somewhere. Again, couldn’t help rolling my eyes. Would have dropped this series but since there’s only a few eps left, might as well finish and see how this mess ends.

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING EP 12
(Pls don’t read if you haven’t watched it yet)

KIM DOGI gave his real name to the police when he was locked up, right? So, no one in the Black Sun knows him? Isn’t Black Sun owned by the corrupt police office PARK HYUN JO who ordered to place the bomb in KIM DOGI’s taxi??

So confused at this point why KIM DOGI still exposes himself right after he and his team set up his elaborate “funeral.”

We have our SEVENTH one-against-two-or-more fight scene of Season 2. But this time, it’s not DOGI but HA-JOON vs their minion guards – all for the entertainment of MRS. WANG.

Wow! That product placements are getting aplenty lately! Haha! Kopiko candy and that energy drink! Good thing there’s no more of that lipstick-slash-makeup-slash-neck-perfume-slash-eyeliner product of Prosecutor HANA from Season 1. Haha!!

The head guard was told that it was DOGI who reported the place about the minors, yet he (head guard) commended DOGI for it? And he didn’t find DOGI suspicious at all? Really??

So, the reporter KIM YONG MIN and DOGI rescued that drugged girl for nothing?? All that effort for naught??

Detective CHOI SEONG EUN – honest police officer who suffocated to death in his 30s. He was actually killed for what he learned about the Black Sun from the reporter.
Replying to Aki Apr 14, 2023
Do Gi done it on purpose to expose himself
Right after pretending to be dead?? I don't think so. His teammates were also worried that he was picked up by the police. Obviously, that was not the plan. Also, if it was the plan to expose himself, why not make a scene at that place right away? Why the need to pretend to be a friend of that idol, for example??

And why was he complaining to the police about his arrest -- if that is the plan? He could've just shut up and let them incarcerate him, right? Also, that charge of molestation obviously wasn't in their plan, too.

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING EP 11
(Please don’t read if you haven’t watched it yet)

Why is DOGI exposing himself too much when he is pretending to be dead?! Is the team not aware of the possibility that he can be seen by the enemies of which they have no idea who is behind and how many men they have?

They didn’t even disguise him or change the way he looks somehow??

And he even went clubbing in the place where they know is teeming with their enemies!! What logic is that, writers??

THEN…. Why did he report the minors in the club?? What good will that do him and his snooping around????

THAT, unsurprisingly, caused him trouble – and being beaten up in full view of everyone outside the club! – and being taken by the police!

Can’t stop my eyes rolling at this point. It gets more inane by the minute!!!

AND NOW… he’s being accused of molestation. Why can’t I sympathize with him now?? Because he brought it to himself!!! Really st***d moves!!

YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!!!! WHY ARE YOU EXPOSING YOURSELF TOO MUCH TOO SOON???
