1. Actor EARTH (“Uncle Jim”) looks like he lost weight.
2. WEN seriously applied for a menial job? What job does he have that he can just leave? Didn’t he have an ID – so it means he’s employed somewhere?
3. The household of a corrupt policeman has no maid or a bodyguard at all? Do they really leave their only child (HEART, who is deaf-mute) alone? How’s his education? Can’t they afford a tutor? Do they leave him at home to stagnate?
4. LI MING does housework at HEART’s household while in school uniform? He did that TWICE in this episode (first the white school uniform, then the colored uniform).
5. PRAEW (pregnant) looks much older than LENG, so I checked. LENG (actor: MARK) is 24, PRAEW (actress VIEW) is 20. She just looks older but is actually 4 years younger than LENG.
6. Now we know WEN works as a store display designer/arranger? So, it’s not a regular (9 to 5) job, right? But he must work mostly at night – when malls are closed – so shouldn’t that conflict with his part-time job at Uncle JIM’s eatery?
7. In the episode end convo, WEN says he doesn’t have a “someone.” But in his Ep 1 convo with his friend GONG (and the note someone left on his home fridge), it seems like he is in a relationship right now. So, I guess we’ll know in the next eps.
8. JIM tells WEN: “Don’t waste your time on me,” yet HE wastes his time by waiting for WEN and buying him beer. Practice what you preach, sir! =)
9. PRODUCT PLACEMENTS SO FAR: That ubiquitous Full Moon beer and the cat food). At least the placements are quite subtle here.
WYW (talking to her father on the phone): "Lee Joon-ho is someone who can make me happy and he can take care of me like you do. The problem is me. Am I someone who can make Lee Joon-ho happy?"
[Episode 13 - 18 July 10:55 PM] I get that you are stalling, Sing. But do you really have to advice him how to…
Haha!! Love your reactions. I had the same ones, too! Yup, that mask kiss -- I'm also Toi. Haha! And the jumping like a kid before that? What was the director thinking?? 🙄🤣
Very interesting and intriguing story. Started really good, but middle part somehow dragged because of many repetitions. But it again picked up when the “burden of the loops” was transferred to TOL.
The FINALE was quite a disappointed as there are many laughable scenes at the first half. It picked up on the second half but then it came to a screeching halt. I guess we missed the old TIN at the last two episodes, and that very last scene didn’t give us enough of him.
Acting is generally good, esp TOL (actor: TEE) and KINTA (actor: MORRIS K.). On the other hand, TIN’s (actor: TAE) facial expressions, mouth movements and always raising of an eyebrow when reacting – are sometimes putting off. Supporting actors are good, except for GAP (actor: AOB) who has only one facial expression. that irritated look. Also mediocre (almost ham) acting are MAI (actress: AOM) and DOI (actor: BOAT). ART (actor: MILD) is given the usual, stereotypical role of the funny classmate; poor him, he never graduated from it.
Directing is okay, but there are many melodramatic and laughable moments (like TOL jumping like a kid after the saved a patient when he pretended to be doctor) and later kissing TIN right then and there at the E.R. – with face mask on!).
Story has loopholes but can be forgiven since this is a fantasy series anyway. It’s a lot better than MANNER OF DEATH (from same director/writer) which has lots of head scratching scenes. Only MAXTUL saved that one from being a forgettable mess.
GAMEPLAY, the original younger brother, was a better choice. His replacement doesn’t look like Porsche’s brother…
I suggest you guys watch Ep 2.5 where APO (Porsche) and BARCODE (Chay) are seated beside each other. Very different skin color (dark vs fair). Facial features? Nah, not the same type at all. You know they didn’t come from the same parents. That’s just my point. They’re do NOT look like brothers AT ALL. Casting director failed here, imho.
Also, that scene towards the end of Episode 1 where the two were talking? Barcode was trying hard to cry. Acting wasn’t natural. It was forced.
If you don’t like Gameplay because you say he is old, fine! (Well, he looks young to me). Still, that doesn’t make Barcode’s casting as Chay an inspired move, imo. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree here. Peace! =)
GAMEPLAY, the original younger brother, was a better choice. His replacement doesn’t look like Porsche’s brother at all. Porsche is darkish skinned (moreno) and Chinito eyes; the replacement brother looks Caucasian/Indian/Asian mix and has large eyes. He doesn’t look like Porsche’s brother at all.
1:05 –KINN himself gave his wristwatch to PORSCHE. In the final version (Ep 1), Porsche forcibly took Kinn’s watch from this wrist.
1:26 –JOM was mauled in the trailer. In the final version (Ep 1), he was just given a calling card by a talent agency. Jom is played by a different actor in the final Ep 1 version.
1:35 – This scene where Porsche himself sold the wristwatch is gone in the final Ep 1. In the final version, we just learn that the uncle sold the watch for 700,000 baht (we were later told by Kinn that it’s worth 2M baht).
2:00 – The bar was ransacked. This is not in the final Ep 1.
2:35 – The younger brother of Porsche is played by GAMEPLAY (whose name in the trailer is curiously also Porsche). Personally, he is more apt to play Porsche’s younger brother than his replacement who looks mixed Caucasian/Indian.
2:55 – Kinn arrives in Porsche’s place and announced, “This house is mine now.” That house in the trailer is more like a room. The one in the final Ep 1 is a lot bigger. Also, the uncle is played by a different actor in the final Ep 1.
3:10 – PORSCHE goes to KINN’S mansion. This is gone in the final Ep 1. In the final version, there is no cocky attitude/walk. Also, there are only a few people in the mansion. In the trailer, there are lots of ‘gangsters” in the scene.
3:18 – This is Kinn’s father in the trailer. He was replaced in the final Ep 1 version by a gentler, more fatherly actor. The one in the trailer looks like a playboy.
3:40 – JEFF SATUR is retained.
5:53 – GAMEPLAY again as younger brother.
The other characters in the last 3 minutes of the trailer, I’m not sure if they were retained or replaced – since I just finished Ep 1. Some characters are yet to appear.
Please tell me you're joking that this is just an extended version of the film....
An article about it says…
“There are a lot of details from the movie that got expanded here, specifically the Terrence-Wesley subplot. The scenes you see in the film are just 20 percent of what’s in the series.
“There’s also the subplots of Pearl (Adriana So) and Terrence-Cairo. There are so many aspects of the show to watch out for.
“The new season also has a different feel in terms of storytelling. It’s going to be a different experience, even for the fans who have watched the movie many times. The series is more romantic and intimate. The characters will be more daring, but the audience will be made to understand what led to that. They will really feel the lovemaking, not just between Cairo (Canlas) and Gavreel (De Santos), but with the other characters.”
“Even the ending is different. There are also new characters who will be introduced. All the characters in the film will have bigger participation here. You just have to wait for it.”
So it's really a rehash of the movie events? Disappointing . . .https://entertainment.inquirer.net/444057/gameboys-season-2-bl-series-more-romantic-and-intimate
Did you even read the article? If you did, you won’t be saying it’s a rehash!

There are no obnoxious third wheels or sub-plots, so the focus is just on the main characters. No irritating complications.
Love the cinematography, editing, acting, everything!
But the best thing in this series is the writing. Love the lines.

8.5 / 10
This is simply a masterpiece which I intend to watch over and over again.
Hope the two MLs have more series in the future. Really love their chemistry.

THIS SERIES WAS FILMED UNDER THE PREVENTIVE MEASURES BY THE EMERGENCY DECREE.
What does that mean?
