There's no use. Sadly many women, mostly young girls think rape is romantic/ entertaining. I feel lakorns satisfy…
Sadly, those people always comment, that the ML was oh so tortured, that he did not know better, that he acted out of love, that it is only a drama, that it can not be compared to reality..... The best example: as long as you love me. This one is one of the most toxic c dramas I have ever watched. The FL even tries to kill herself to escape....but read the comments on that one: oh, the ML is sooo sweet, sooo good looking....he loves the FL oh so much....
What the duck did I just watch!?! To sum this up in a few sentences: ML has a mistress till the very end. ML sleeps with the mistress till....yeah.....ML brings mistress home, now all of them live a great life under the same roof....ML sleeps with mistress in the same room that he sleeps in with his wife.....He sleeps with his wife directly after he slept with his mistress - without protection of course.....he does not even take a shower in between.....this is not a one time thing, you get to watch this over and over and over again....you get to watch him making out with the mistress in front of his wife.....after the wife has watched this, she lets him make out with her....ähmmmm yeah, ok.....stupid much? From start to finish, that is what this lakorn is about. In between all of this, the writers want me to believe, that he fell in love with his wife while he was *** his mistress....and the wife fell in love with her husband while watching him *** his mistress. Yeah, very funny. Then why did I watch this? Honestly, I wanted to see the FL character grow and ONCE, just ONCE show even a tiny little bit of backbone, even a hint of a spine.....something....! But no, no, no, no! If you have endured all of this for 14 episodes you reward is a two minute happy end. My perfect happy end for this: husband and mistress stay together. Wife starts a new live after some serious therapy sessions where she learns to value herself, respect herself and love herself. 1/10
Well, this is one of those frustrating ones. The ML is a very weak character, that keeps his "mistress", the SFL till the very end. He is unable to really reject her and always puts her first. The FL is like a boomerang: no matter how often the ML or the SFL insult her, she keeps coming back. There are a lot of scenes, where he is with the SFL and everyone knows, that she is his wife too. Even when he is outside with the FL the townspeople call him "the Sheriff with two wifes"....in front of his wife. Yeah, but you know, the FL stays, comes back, even after he tells her to stay away and we are supposed to think how great she is because of that.....the ML character does not have to grow, does not have to reflect, because she is ok with everything that he does to her. This drama preaches about trust, marriage values, respect......and it all seems to be connected to the wife: she has to trust, she has to value her marriage and she has to show respect to her husband...He? Well, he can do whatever he wants. Some call that a virtuous wife. I call that stupid. I understand the message this drama wanted to "send out" but it went overboard with what she had to endure - and only she had to endure. The acting was good. Bella was good. James was ok. 5/10
On episode 2 right now and wondering, what age group does this drama aim to entertain? From the very beginning, the FL acts like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum in the supermarket because she does not get the candy....is this supposed to be comedy...? Humor....? Strange.
Oh wow, this is a tough one to rate... It is worth watching, if you are a fan of the actors. I am only here for SJS and SIG and, as expected, they did great. If you are here for the romance: DO NOT WASTE your time, there is none here! The only time, they are together is the LAST 3 MINUTES of the LAST episode.....3 minutes out of 17 hours. There are a few nice scenes and a few kisses but....no relationship, just misunderstandings and all the typical stuff......the good thing: no breakup, since they are never together.....just some kind of "I have to find myself" blabla and leaving abroad....and the "I have to marry someone else just because...well I don´t know why, but the script is like that so I absolutely have to marry someone else...." EYEROLL.....if you want to see some good stuff between the leads, watch the few YT videos, the OST videos - yes, there really are that little romantic scenes. In fact, the chemistry is zero, the romance is zero but the ghost stories and the acting are good. 7/10 from me.
Do you know if in this drama the FL looses her baby, or even has one in general? like in the Turkish one?
The turkish version was the worst of all of them in my opinion! First: 2,5 hour each episode for 40 or so episodes....the first 20 episodes: one misunderstanding after another, he marries someone else, there is a child with the woman he marries. The FL leaves, without telling the ML that she is pregnant and hides his child from him for 5 years. Last 20 episodes: one misunderstanding after another. ML finds out, his wifes child is not his, divorce and that child, that he raised for 5 years and that loves him sooo soooo much is simply...gone....never to be seen again. But now the ML has a son, from the FL so we can forget that girl, he raised for 5 years and have fun with a son. The actors act like teenagers that just hit puberty. FL overacts and screams constantly for 80 plus hours!!!!!!
Wohow, this was good! Beware, if you are looking for a feel good, rainbow, unicorns and pink fluffy roses type of drama this one is not for you. Here, everyone is flawed, just like in the real world ;) Really liked it, did not use the FF too often and the acting of the ML was over the top good, true to character and believable. LMJ did a very good job, too! Some complained, that she seemed stiff - ähm, yes, of course, this drama is about revenge (!) about hate and fighting ones feelings. She did very good in displaying all those emotions and stayed true to character. In dramas like this one, the important thing is, that the actors imperson their characters, and this they did great! Again, if you want to watch for the romace you might feel, that it should have been a bit....more.....there is romance, and it is really nice, it just isn´t all fluffy and sparcling! I watched for the actors and therefore got exactly what I came for: great acting!
OMG, this one was bad! I enjoyed the first few episodes but then.....Dear writers, when you set certain characters in a drama and suddenly all of them are acting completely out of character from one episode to the other, you are sure to annoy the viewers! The little brother was the only one who was true to himself from start to finish: he fell in love with the woman (SFL) his brother loved and "broke them up" and consistently he fell in love with the second woman (FL) his brother loved, too. The aunt: she was pretty cool for the first few episodes, they all had a great relationship. But then....she morphed into the annoying typical kdrama MIL. For example: she was absolutely against the SFL, because both brothers loved her - really truely absolutely against her(!!!!) but then because of a business deal, she pushes her to the ML, to the point, where she threatens to remove him from the head of the company and uses the "I raised you just like my own son and gave you soooo much love and you can´t even do THAT for me?!" card.....Ähm, the little brother, that was the most important thing in her live and whom she protected above all else: completely forgotten because of a business deal.....Nope, she was NOT like that before. The FL turns into the cry monster in the corner and remains like that till the end of the drama. Backbone completely GONE! The ML even calls her crybaby all the time - well, true! She also looses the ability to talk, which leads to a lot of eyeroll worthy drama. She was so cool in the first episodes. The formerly very decisive ML turns into a coward, who needs endless episodes to tell the SFL, that he does not love her anymore. Hurting both women. Eyeroll. He wants to keep dating his ex, till she gets over him while also keeping his girlfriend - yeah, well, sure, which woman in her right mind would say "no" to such a great idea!?! Then, after everything is basically ok, the FL decides to leave....why....? Hmmm, you know, backbone gone, speaking not an option anymore, crying did not help....so she leaves without giving any reasons and it takes forever for them to finally get and be together. The happy end happens in the last two minutes of the last episode - until then: nothing but chaos, childish behavior (FL) and misunderstandings. Watch the first half and pretend, that their second kiss (two of three) is the end and spare yourself all the idiotic "drama because there needs to be a lot of drama" episodes! It is like I watched two different dramas.....the first one good, the second one meeeeeeeh. First half: 8/10. Second half: 2/10.
JCW seems to have accepted a lot of bad scripts since K2..... This one is bad....backstreet rockie was bad..... He is such a good actor but even he can´t do anything about such bad scripts.....
Recently I got asked a lot: is it that bad? Yup, it is. The rating here is deserved. The good: THE ACTING - all the actors did a great job! The bad: everything else, the story, the storyline, the filming quality..... The age gap did NOT bother me at all! Have you watched and liked Goblin? Yes? Then you will have absolutely NO problem with this one! Why? Well, the age gap here is maybe 7 years.....and now take a look at Goblin.....plus, there is no intimacy in this one so relax! 6,5 stars from me.
This is a hard one to rate.... The actors did a really great job, ALL of them stayed true to character (even if the character was annoying), the emotions were on point and they delivered even this bad script. That said, the script was super irritating! Much too much back and forth for the romance part! At one point I actually stopped caring. Also, if you are only watching this for the romance you might consider other dramas, were action and romance blend together much better, because the romance fell short here. If you want the same ML but with a 1000 times better script and romance try watching Healer! Here, it was unnecessary drawn out - back and forth, they like each other, they don´t....he pushes her away then she pushes him away, then it is him again and then it is her AGAIN....and THEN came the plot with her father and his parents: absolutely annoying! This is one of those dramas, that I want to rate really high, because the actors did such a good job, but where the script annoyed me so much that I don´t want to give it more than 3 stars.... So I rate it 6,5 stars but ONLY for the actors!
Hands down one of the very best in the past few years! Since the great era of kdramas from 2010 to nearly 2020 there have not been a lot of good dramas coming out - in my opinion of course. But this one was really, really good from start to finish! I think it aired at the same time as a business proposal, which I did not enjoy nearly as much as this one. Plot was good, actors were great and really nailed their roles - no acting out of character once and not a lot of overacting (unfortunately it happens a lot with those romcoms, happened just once here). No boring moment, I did not skip at all. A "grown up" romance, without any unnecessary drama, break ups or stupid misunderstandings - how refreshing!
I don´t even know, what to make of this new trend in cdramas....there are no nuances anymore: you can watch one and all the others are the same. The wife always suffers while the SFL has a nice time. So what lesson does this teach the young girls out there: be a psycho, destroy everything and you will have a great life whilst, try to be a decent human being: only suffering for you my dear!
The last sentence of the synopsis: Can Lala defend her career and her marriage from her new archenemy? The answer is NO! This drama is the frustrating journey of a woman loosing everything because she married a spineless wimpy mommys sweet little boy. The ML is portrayed as one of the worst mommys boys that I have ever seen. No matter what his mommy tells him to do, no matter what she says, no matter how she degrades, insults and abuses the FL he does absolutely NOTHING! He is supposed to be a grown up man, an HR manager(!) but he acts like a two year old 99% of the drama. He is literally speechless, whenever mommy gives him instructions and he follows them without even considering for a moment, who he hurts and if there are any consequences. Character development: absolutely none. The FL divorces, but she is no better than him. Whenever her former MIL comes to her to insult, degrade and abuse her some more, she shuts up and lets that woman walk all over her. Character development: zero. The third party, the mistress is the typical psycho SFL, nothing new, nothing to see, nothing to care about, not even a tiny little bit of character, just there to get pregnant and separate the leads - the writers of c dramas really do not need to put any work on the SFL, they can simply take the same script as in the millions of dramas before. So, I was frustrated with the FL, annoyed with the ML and his mother and not entertained by the SFL. Two stars for the actors, the rest was not even worth my time.
This Thai version is by far the worst!
The best example: as long as you love me. This one is one of the most toxic c dramas I have ever watched. The FL even tries to kill herself to escape....but read the comments on that one: oh, the ML is sooo sweet, sooo good looking....he loves the FL oh so much....
