Exactly, the moment when she said that line, that is who she is going to be with. She wants someone who will be with her. She has said that all along. I love that we are at episode 42 (counting them all together) and we still don't know who she will end up with.

I agree, the characters are complex and the show is well-written, and it's one reason why I love LYF so much. The layers for each character, and the traumas haunting them all - it's so fascinating to watch. I agree too that this is about XY's choice, who she ends up with, and it's also who is still standing at the end, too. Who wants to be with her, in the end. I ship all three MLs, and if Feng Long could stop being afraid of women, I'd cheer for him too. Each of the male leads has good things and bad things about them - like you, I have been analyzing this show too. I like your analysis of XY and the three men.

You are not alone, and I've only seen the first three so far, Viki hasn't loaded the next ones yet today. Cried at the end of second episode with CX and XY talking in her room. My heart does the same as yours when FFB (Feng Fang Bei) or XL comes on the screen, and those eyes of Cang Xuan - they speak volumes, and I can't look away, and I want him to be happy! Thank you for sharing some of what you know about shamanism with us. From the bits I know (from shamans I have met and seen in action), and through others, what you wrote is true for shamanism found around the world in general, too. That spiritual journeying for healing, etc. Chinese shamanism is also specific to its culture too. I agree with you that it's clear in the show that the love bugs are only for two people who love each other, and there has to be love for the love bugs to "take" in the body. I too find it a bit strange that XY doesn't ask further questions about the love bugs, either before or after she uses them - for someone who investigates poisons so thoroughly for her "medicines/poisons" for XL, I would have thought she would want to know more about what she has put into her own body. I find the concept of the love bugs fascinating, too, that it implies the two people love one another, but can never live together. It's like a visual element, another layer of the plot for LYF, for so many of the characters.

I know, I normally tend to wait for a few episodes to be out first, like 3 or 4 at least, but I don't think I can wait that long. As torturous as S2 will be, I want to experience it as it happens to my beloved characters.

Xiao Yao

My question with Tushan Jing and Xiao Yao, is that when the 15 years are up, he is not able to come get her - he asks for more time. Knowing her psychology, at that point she should have walked away, because it would feel like he didn't want her, not enough to make sure he could keep his promise. The psychology of abandonment is critical in her, and it should have kicked up then. So I find that as their relationship goes on, I dislike the Jing character more because he appears so feeble in getting what he wants, and it puts her at risk. I am very curious how and why she is able to overcome the pain of losing him (the marriage and baby that isn't his) to be with him again. I think part of her character is that she says she leaves people, but she doesn't, really. they always leave her, it is never been her leaving them. So I guess she loves Jing until the end of time, no matter what....sorry this is so long, I am fascinated by the psychology in the characters in this drama :-)

I got Xiao Yao! I'm so surprised, even though I fit the profile , traumatized and wary, etc. Which is partly why I love this show so much, all the characters are traumatized in some way and none of them give up, ever. so cool. Thank you for making this quiz!
