The proof that the gap between season 1 and season 2 is too long can be seen from the recap when we see little Yuna (The Kidnapping Day, Good Partner) crying and praying for her father who has been declared a sinner.
I agree with some comments below that the way how the ML and FL romance is being handled is much better here than the original.
Here, the relationship between Sanha and Juwon is not much implied as a sibling relationship. Yes, Sanha also protects Juwon just like an older brother, but their relationship is a bit more like a childhood friend (maybe almost comparable to Choisseung and Seokryu in Love Next Door).
This is different from the original Chinese drama where the relationship between Ling Xiao and Jian Jian is more like siblings, resulting in some "distaste" when there's a romantic relationship between them.
Here, we don't feel such (incest) distaste and we ended up shipping them for their romantic relationship to develop further.
I just watched the ep5-6 BTS. Would like to appreciate the child actress Kim Min-chae, who portrays So-hee, Sanha's half-sister. During the scene when she walked down the stairs, chasing and calling Sanha oppa, and then fell, she needed to retake the scenes several times -- walking down the stairs, "pretending" to trip and then falling into the mattress at the base of the stairs, as a cushion for her body.
Despite the director asking her to retake the scenes several times (with Chae-yeon and In-Youp watching with worry), she was always in high spirits. And when the retakes were done, In-Youp clapped his hands to congratulate her for the job well done, and Min-chae bowed to him to express her gratitude. So heartwarming. :)
Min-chae was also able to maintain good chemistry with her senior actors, particularly In-Youp, Chae-yeon and Hye-eun who portrayed her scary mom. Despite the tense scene, the atmosphere was very warm behind the set!
I can see that she's a very professional child actress, yet she's adorable and cute at the same time. Can't believe she's only 7 years old this year.
This drama is getting better as more episodes go by. It tries to be unique on its own, not really fully replicating the storyline of the original. It has its own uniqueness on the sub-plots which makes me love this drama more as the story progresses.
We can also see that fewer people are comparing this drama with the original anymore nowadays since there's nothing to compare. Both dramas are good in their unique ways.
Your last sentence is on point. Little Orange was even more annoying. I find Sohee to be more likeable compared…
Yes, I remember when Little Orange was in the restaurant (with her supergirl costume?) asking why JianJian called Ling Xiao "brother" (I forgot what's the word in Chinese, "gege"?)
If it follows the storyline of the original:Sanha's mom and family got into a car accident. She was badly injured…
In the original, Zi Qiu (Haejun's equivalent) went overseas (I think it's the UK) to study, sponsored by his biological father.
Both the brothers left at (almost) the same time: Ling Xiao (Sanha's equivalent) moved to Singapore to take care of his biological mom, while Zi Qiu moved to the UK to study, leaving Jian Jian (Juwon's equivalent) devastated.
All the moms in this show suck ass. Even Dal’s mom now omg smh 🙄 (Whomever came up with show must really…
Your last sentence is on point. Little Orange was even more annoying. I find Sohee to be more likeable compared to Little Orange. Yes, she's still bratty and spoiled but that's because of her mom's behaviour.
The mom is not only hurting Sanha but Sohee as well. I wish Sohee could just leave her mom and live with Sanha oppa and the family (I know it won't happen, lol).
can someone spoil for me what happens in ep 7 with the car accident??
If it follows the storyline of the original:
Sanha's mom and family got into a car accident. She was badly injured and paralyzed, her husband (Sohee's dad) died, and only Sohee survived without injury (or little injury, or she might not have been in the car when the accident happened).
The mom will then ask Sanha to take care of her and his little half-sister, so Sanha will then leave the family to move in with her mom and half-sister to take care of her.

The impact of the episode 10's ending is really harsh, LOL.
