No matter how much I love the actress, I still find Darim's mom (Bong-hee) character to be unlikeable. It's very difficult for me to like the character. So desperate for money, went to her ex and humiliated, ill-speaking about her late husband in front of his parents.

I found the grandparents' characters to be very lovable and exhilarating. I love the "partner in crime" couple, lol.

Daon was not anywhere in the preview, though. Are you sure Daon doesn't die protecting Bitna from being killed by Munjae?

What is Bael planning? I thought he is just the "leader" of Hell who supervise all the demons, and keep the Hell operations running? He should be objective, manages all his demons properly.

Hell is just like a organisation. If the staff of the organisation fight each other, the organisation will crumble and won't be able to provide the intended service they need to provide (which is to take care of dead sinners and punish them).

I am also baffled that it seems they don't have any good inter-department coordination. The demons, the angel (granny is the example), the satan (which we do not know who), seem to be working on their own. Shouldn't all the department (hell, heaven, etc) have their own leaders and report to one entity who's above all (God)?

Her character is written to be like that in this drama. I guess that's because her two brothers spoiled her very much. :)

And I understand that it's a bit different from the FL character in the original drama (Go Ahead), which is more tomboyish, bold and independent.

Because they compared it with Jian Jian's character in Go Ahead, the original drama. It's very different.

For me, I enjoy the difference. :) In the original drama, sometimes teenage version of Jian Jian can be a bit annoying, although I still love the character very much.

In the Chinese version, Ling Xiao's mom, his new husband and their daughter (little Orange) lives in Singapore. The family had a car accident, the husband died, the mom survived but got badly injured so that she needed to use walking crutches.

In East Asian countries, particularly Korea, Japan and China, their culture seems to force the kids to be independent from the young age. It seems common for them to leave young children home alone at home when the parents are busy out working. They are also taught to go to school and return home by themselves from early age (like in kindergarten or lower primary).

It won't surpass because as what everyone else already told you, Go Ahead set his bar very high. But I am sure you will enjoy Family By Choice if you give it a chance to be assessed on its own. I understand that since it's a remake, comparison to the original is inevitable but I think you should still give it a chance and do not set high expectation.

Every new episode is just more intense than the earlier episodes.

If I am a police chief, and I have two of my police officers hating each other, let alone want to kill each other, I will ensure that I will fix it. Either send one of the officers to another department or something. If both are in my team, it'll affect the whole team's performance. Teamwork is key!

Yet we have demons who hate and kill each other (Justitia and Paimon). We see a demon (Gremory) betraying another demon. We see demons bullying another weak demon (Mando) so they can get what they want.

I guess Bael is very much lacking in people (or demon) management skills. He can't manage his demons properly!

Bael doesn't have any motives. He's just in charge of the hell and managing the demons.

Daon died protecting Bitna from being killed by Paimon. That's why he's not in the next episodes anymore. Lol.

Don't believe me, I am as crazy as the writer. Lol.

Kang Ji-na is so annoying.

The writer seems to go with the love triangle (or square) trope. After dumping Jina, Min-ki will have feelings with Kong-Hee and she might reciprocate. This leaves Dansu in the corner and if he also has feelings with the FL, he needs to work harder to get her, LOL.

Strange and unrealistic plot. If you haven't started, I suggest you don't watch. I plan to drop this.

OMG, so many villains. Arong/Gremory, Daon's current partner, Daon's team members (the one who punched Daon) and his partner, the assemblyman and his son, Bael, the person who drunk-driving, the church lady (possibly), the Satan, the serial killer who is still at large, and so on. They are the antagonists in this drama.

The only protagonists here are Bitna and Daon. So-yeong is dead. The granny angel cannot protect Daon anymore.

The composition of protagonists vs antagonists is not balanced. like 20:80, now.

And the preview of episode 10 is not promising either.

yes, qi ming yue (spelling?) is the chinese version of park dal. jian jian's best friend.

but in the Chinese version, jian jian has 2 best friends once she goes to college. ming yue and another one named tang can.

if her personality is similar to chen ting, ling xiao's mom in the OG version (go ahead), then yes she can be one of the worst moms in kdramas.

the way how she manipulates her son and uses her youngest daughter (her son's half-sister) so he would follow her and do what she says... omg it's so annoying. she's so selfish.

sanha's mom character is really despicable. just like ling xiao's mom in go ahead (chen ting). nobody would understand them, even their own husbands!
