Since I read so many untrue gossip about him at this site, this is the clarification for anybody who is curious. This in year 2025 already, its time to stop spreading malicious rumors about an actor that we didn't know personally:
- He did not have 'NO KISSING' rules in his dramas. A simple watch of his dramas will tell you this. The latest drama of his with lot of kissing scenes is The Blue Whisper (2022). If you want to see him doing passionate & deep kisses, then you can watch Glory of Tang Dynasty (2016). Often, the BTS of his kissing scenes are more intimate but it got cut like in Forever & Ever (2021). The Demon Hunter's Romance (2025) also has kissing scenes.
- He did not have many SAD ENDINGS in his dramas. Out of 18 dramas he acted as a lead, only 4 dramas have Sad Endings (The Glory of Tang Dynasty, Autumn Cicada, One & Only and Love of Nirvana). 2 dramas with Open Endings (Detective Dee & The Demon Hunter's Romance) while the rest 12 dramas have Happy Endings. I dont know why people keep spreading this everywhere when they didnt even watch his dramas. 🙄
- His WIFE is not a famous person. She is a nobody. All those gossip about her being rich and influential is false.
- He is a very professional actor. All you can read online about him from industry insiders are good things. He doesn't mind to dress down or look ugly for his roles if that is required of him. He also always joke in BTS filming and known to have good rapports with his co-stars male or female. It is simply an illogical ending. I cant understand people who try to defend bad writing. Thats why we keeps getting them. You dont excuse bad writing. When it is bad and didnt make sense, you have to call out of it so they know dont do this terrible endings anymore.

No one is complaining about that. And no one want the leads ending up together while the whole world dies, that is even worst.
The whole drama is selling us this story that they could work together but decided against it at the end, 5 minutes before the end. The illogical ending is what drove people mad. They could make the talisman working and the leads could be happy together. Why make it broken? Because they want to force the BE ending that iQiyi wants. So nothing adds up at the end.
The Concept Art Director drew several concept arts of Xuanye & Banxia at the Carefree World (according to the original script) and was waiting for the scene to happen when he watched the drama. It didnt exist in the drama. 💀
Good news! This drama is the fastest costume drama on iQiyi to break 30M/ep this year. Congrats to all casts & crews for such an amazing drama where they achieved all of this despite the show being air-dropped without any promotion/investment.

My favourite romance drama of all time! The leads appear so in love with each other with many sweet and tender moments between the 2 of them. I love how they are just full of love and devotion and their unwavering love is truly marriage goals.

I whole heartedly disagree lol. Both of them looks so in love with each other and there are so many intimate scenes between the 2 of them. Everyone perceived chemistry differently and to me, they have one of the best chemistry I've seen in Cdramas. There is this tenderness and calmness in their relationship that is just so beautiful to watch.
Ren Jialun doesnt have 'no physical contact / no kissing' clause in his dramas. It is melon spread by YXH accounts and antis. I mean in this drama alone, both of them actually appear naked on the bed with only sheet covering them. Even Bailu didnt wear any undergarments/inner like she was in her other dramas. He is holding her and she is playing with his neck bones. It is a very convincing after sex scenes. And then there is the bathtub scene which is super intimate as well where he is completely shirtless laying on a bathtub and he asked her to hug him.

Both story are like mirror to each other. The decision that they made determine their fate and destiny in each lifetimes.
Still one of my fave dramas ever. It is so beautiful and poignant. Ren Jialun & Bai Lu are particularly magnificent in this roles. Their love is shown through gentle gestures and longingness towards each other. ❤️
