Disagree with your assessment on Lu Qianqiao. 🥹 You cant say a person who went that whole ordeal to be human, fighting his natural nature for blood, still trying to maintain his humanity despite people betray him left and right and still trying to do good when people doesnt extand the same kindness as being shallow or with no real substance. Just his conversation with the Emperor told you how much wisdom he has. Letting go when he supposed to fight and know whats important which is to be truly living than being all powerful and greedy.
And his decison at the end even put empasis on his depth as a character. He could be selfish and become human but he let go everything, and we know how much he treasures his new found family and his ability to be truly alive but to be able to protect them and their world is much more important. That decision isnt easy to make but protecting people lives are more important than your own personal wants.
The layers and complexity that he has is amazing. So much thing to dissect in each episode, whether his relationship with people around him and how he sees the world. I like how we know about him more and more slowly, episode by episode.

Yeah thats why you have to watch it as its not a propaganda drama. Despite it being tagged CCP, the main leads spent more time helping the Kuomantiang government which is CCP's political rival in the drama.

This is actually what good script does which doesnt spoonfed you. They trust your intelligent and make you ask questions (while foreshadowing clues) and give it later when its time to reveal it.
He does not do kisses no point expecting some in this drama.
This is not true. He got married way before he become famous in 2016. There are a lot of kissing scene in his dramas. The last one is Demon Hunter's Romance last year.

I think its ok not to be handsome as long as you have the ability to sell dramas. He is one or the actors with the most hit dramas for the past 7 years. 7 hit dramas in total. Much more than many handosme actors out there.

As usual? His dramas with sad endings are only 5 (Tang Dynasty, Autumn Cicada, One & Only, Love of Nirvana and Love & Crown) out of his 20 dramas. It's not even 1/3 of his filmography.
His HE dramas are more than doubled than his SE dramas.
A great start so far. We got a really powerful ML and FL and very interesting side characters.

And LQQ talk with the Emperor is kind of sad where he keeps asking him to relax and have a good sleep yet he still cant do it even after winning the throne for decades. And the way the Emperor prepares the soldier hiding beside him just make my heart sank even more.
