Most of you don't like the fact that Shi Yan isn't being more vocal about his interest in Shu Yi and isn't passionately pursuing her (yet) but as the novel reader, it's better this way in the beginning.
Although it's sometimes frustrating that Shi Yan isn't taking much initiative in Shu Yi for now, I feel like that's the perfect way to show Shu Yi that love and sincerity isn't just about sweet talk or gifts, it's about how your partner cares for you and how their subtle actions show how much you mean to them. Him reserving a good seat for her at the press conference, cooking her a meal, appreciating her work, respecting her, showing her off to his circle and all that is sincere enough that it can't hold a candle to simply giving flowers or gifts to pursue the one you love.
Here's why this is also the perfect way for Shu Yi to understand how sincere a healthy relationship should be and her finding out what true love is. In the novel, Shu Yi's ex-boyfriend relentlessly pursued her in college by sending flowers, confessing his feelings despite her ignoring his advances, and singing love songs to her at parties. He was very straightforward about trying to win her. After Shu Yi graduated and got a stressful job, having no time for anything other than work was depressing to her. When her ex-bf still tried to pursue her, she felt he was being sincere and thought of him as the one who adds color to her boring life. Basically she didn't feel complete and happy and was moved by him. There's a part where Shu Yi remembers her friends asking her why she agreed to date her now ex-boyfriend since apart from having a decent look, he's neither wealthy nor has good job prospects. She replies by saying 'He's sincere to her and that's a rare quality' as the reason. She now wonders how he changed his colors so quick.
Shu Yi now seems to be doing well at work and in other aspects, meaning she is complete and independent. Shi Yan is doing well at his company and is independent. They don't need each other as a bandage to a wound (like how Shu Yi's ex was to her at that time) but because they are two individuals who are getting to know each other and falling for each other at the right pace while respecting each other. Shu Yi can't stand others shit talking Shi Yan and considers him exceptional in her eyes. Shi Yan admires her passion and respects her work. They both, despite all the cute bickering, awkwardness, and funny flirting, are building a beautiful relationship that is slowly unfolding in front of us.
It was okay episode noting to be woow for now...I still dont think LW is anonymous its too easy ..What I saw from…
isn't SGQ here for her mission? why are you trashing her by calling her a b*tch?! the actress is portraying SGQ so well. if SGQ is manipulative, GSJ is abusive.
Whoever thinks the FL here is bratty, stalks, clingy and all that, please keep in mind that this is the short drama version of a novel that describes the FL character the best. She’s not perfect, she has mental health issues and traumas in the novel which was overlooked in the drama. She is a very multidimensional and complex character for a romcom. She’s not the innocent naive loving or extremely intelligent strong fighter kinda FL. She has flaws like real human beings and YBY did justice to her character in the limited scope she can.
Also, there are so many cdramas where we could say the same flaws in the MLs but they rarely get hated on. Why do you think it’s okay to only hate on the FLs who do this? I’m not okay with this type of behaviour regardless of whether it’s from the ML or FL but the hate in this comment section seems like a lot
