It's kind of like aphrodisiac. Most cdramas uses these prompts in costume drama. Intense heat in the body, I think…
I really want them to release that master tape as post drama clips or like the director's cut. as much as i dont like the novel, the leads chemistry in the first few eps was steaming hot.
I'll start by saying im very glad the drama changed a few stuff and i truly hope both the couples get the best…
I don't get his obsession either, maybe it's because he hates losing or thinks being with her will fix his life. He has a traumatic past but that isn't an excuse for everything he has done. He's messed up so it's not far off that his reason for the obsession is also messed up. I got sick to my stomach when the novel ended with him hoping the FL would notice him in the next life when the woman who loves him and accompanied him through a lot, Ge Xinwei is literally pregnant with his child.
Yes, the emperor I referred to is Na Zhan from Yunpei.
Ruo Wen's traumatic past, according to the novel (and the trauma he gave others):
His mother was abducted and forced to sleep with many men, one of whom was Ruo Wen and his sister's father, the leader of the bandits. Ruo Wen's mother hated him and his sisterβs purple eyes (though Iβm not sure why the author chose that color) because they reminded her of all the humiliation she endured (their bio dad has purple eyes). Over time, she lost all compassion and harbored resentment, didn't raise Ruo Wen or his sister.
In the camp, only the fittest survive, so the siblings had to fight for food alongside the other bandits. Ruo Wenβs sister often went days starving, which led him to start sharing his meals with her, even though their relationship could hardly be described as an ideal sibling bond. He had purple eyes like his sister, which is how she came to realize he was her brother. For years, their only interaction consisted of her calling him "brother" whenever he returned on his horse to the barrack. Although he never looked at her directly, he would toss her coats, food, or whatever items he managed to steal in her direction so she could have them.
One day, he made a plan to leave that place, and his sister came to say goodbye. She gave him a back hug and told him that the fur coat he had given her kept her warm, and that she never gave it to anyone else, despite being forced to do so each time. He was uncomfortable with displays of affection, so he tore the coat away from her, only to find that she was fully covered in bruises. She explained that she had dealt with people who were trying to harm him, and that those bruises were worth it. It was then that it clicked for Ruo Wen that his sister was not some naive woman; she had been fighting for their survival. Meanwhile, every assassination plot against him had failed because his sister had killed anyone who intended to harm Ruo Wen.
He puts the coat back on his sister, gives her a hug, tears up a bit, and says, "I'll take you with me. I'll build a new camp. You're my sister. You don't have to serve any men you don't want to. If anyone tries to touch you, I'll kill them." As they are planning to leave, they are summoned by their bio dad (the leader) because he presumably found out about their plans through their mother. Ruo Wen never saw his mother as a maternal figure, but he didn't expect her to be so ruthless against them. The leader asks Ruo Wen's mother to kill her daughter (Ruo Wen's sister) or kill herself. With no life in her eyes, the mother smiles evilly and moves to attack her daughter. In that moment, Ruo Wen stabs his mother and tells her, "You're out of misery now."
He then kills his bio dad, the leader, grabs his sister, and escapes on a horse with her holding onto him from behind. They are followed by bandits who wish to join Ruo Wen in searching for a new camp and a new life. As they flee, someone shoots at Ruo Wen, and his sister gets hit. She holds him tight, telling him she's fine, not to slow down, and to keep moving. At that moment, Ruo Wen felt as if his five senses were burning away between heaven and earth; all he could hear were the horses moving and the cold blood of his sister soaking into his back. He tied her tightly to him, almost as if urging her to hold on for a bit, but she couldn't. After this, Ruo Wen lost all the little emotions he had left.
After establishing his camp, Ruo Wen believed that women were not worth cherishing and merely sought enjoyment from them. However, unexpectedly, the first woman he came to respect (according to the novel) was his first wife, Li (I dont know how the heck he respected her bc keep reading). He abducted her on her wedding day solely for her looks, but she never gave in to him. He forced himself on her for ten days but became bored because she did not react in bed.
Ruo Wen then called countless women to serve him while Li stood by the window, gazing outside as if longing for the life she once had. Ruo Wen and the bandits had women tied up naked in a row; half of them were for Ruo Wen to choose from, and the other half were for the rest of the men to enjoy. (I found this part extremely disturbing; Iβm not sure how I continued reading the novel.) Some of those women were killed, and when Li found out, she attempted to assassinate Ruo Wen. She failed and kept trying for the next three years, while he continued to spare her life. Eventually, she fell gravely ill and became deeply depressed, losing her will to live. In the end, he killed her to put her out of her misery. (I'm convinced the author has some messed up brain at this point).
He is numb to killing people or seeing people die by now. He killed his mom, his bio dad, and now his first wife.
Thats his past, i regret reading the novel. I still have some hopes for the drama but idk.
Don't read the novel yall, its not worth it. at least its going to really disappoint you if you started watching…
I'll start by saying im very glad the drama changed a few stuff and i truly hope both the couples get the best happy ending and that they dont blindly follow the depressing novel.
FL is with ML in Tiandu and goes to Yunpei bc she's still the nominal wife there. The emperor tries to force her to sleep with him bc now he's obsessed with conquering her but realizes the FL will not give in so that's where things end. I guess she reunites with the ML but he's now more like possessive, fool in love kind ig. Their dynamic is lowkey bitter maybe bc all the truth came out and things got nasty but FL promises that no matter where she goes, she'll always come back to him (ML) bc she's his woman. Happy ending for them ig, not really satisfying.
Here's what pissed me off so bad. The second couple. They created a new camp that was loaded with money, Ruo Wen made Ge Xinwei the female leader, basically like his queen but didn't acknowledge their relationship. Despite all the luxury, Ge Xinwei has only a bed in her room bc that's where she shared fond memories with Ruo Wen. Ge Xinwei gets pregnant and excitedly conveyed the news to Ruo Wen who was away through a messanger. After a week she gets a letter with just two ruthless words from him (don't remember what, maybe its that he didn't care, isn't his, or abort it. not sure). She's truly heartbroken. In the bandits' circle, a daughter is considered a shame bc women are deceitful and a son is considered an enemy bc he will compete with you so they don't want kids, if the woman they slept with gave birth, they won't claim the children. they'll have women to sleep with but won't get attached or create a relationship bc its a trap. Ge Xinwei is let down by Ruo Wen for one last time ig.
The ending is Ruo Wen's perspective. He doesn't care about anything except survival but is obsessed with the FL bc he imagines her to be a burning flame he can't touch. He thinks in this life, his fate is sealed by swords, violence, and resentment so lets go of his desires, lets go of the women he cant have, hoping that in the next life, she (FL) will greet him with a smile. π€‘
I was listening to this song, and it should be Pei Wenxuan's theme song. The lyrics fit so well.https://youtu.be/VYTRfw7q0Ac?si=m_QZ4oX1ukzyv9Th
Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm listening to this now and it's so beautiful. It truly fits and relates to Pei Wenxuan's feelings, feels enchanting
wtf did i just watched it was like SRQ paid for that scene i was so angry at that moment even in the last ep they…
ikrrr! ππ the director/ scriptwriter seemed to done these to have us torn between SRQ and PWX but it just pissed us all off. If they followed the novel instead of adding extra bits for SRQ or cutting down scenes for our leads, then the drama would've been 11 on 10
Mo Shu Bai's SRQ, LR, PWX, and literally every character was written way better than the drama. I loved the story,…
The ending was something similar in the book but he got cured ig, I read it like 2 years ago but I remember that the novel was much better. I'm talking about the story progression, arcs, and all that. Hei Fengxi's palace politics was a heavy focus in the drama but it wasn't even covered in the novel, instead, the novel covered Bai Fengxi's kingdom side. The drama tried to do justice to the novel but dropped so much of Bai Fengxi's story to have the plot surrounding the Yang Yang is playing. I loved the characters and the drama regardless tho, I was heavily invested in it
It feels like I had a heart attack and just got resurrected lol πππ im so happy and over the moon π₯³π₯³
Lmaoo I was so sad that I didn't even rate it yet π but yea if I will surely rate it higher after the special ep. I'm truly happy I came across this story, be it by reading the novel or watching the drama
Call me petty, pervert or greedy but I really need to say this ππ When they went to investigate Touba Yan, SRQ helped LR hide. He touched her abdomen at that time when she was in that persian dress.
In the novel, when PWX told LR she's pregnant, he said "I'm not doing it for your highness, I'm doing it for my wife" *gently touched her abdomen and continued* "and my child". He then carried her bridal style and happily walked in front of people while carrying her, letting everyone see she's his and making LR blush. It was such a beautifully intimate scene. In the drama, he carried her right away and put her down indoors π¦ like sir, where is that scene. i lowkey felt robbed.

A lot of cdrama directors are so sadist omg bc i relate. The second arc of Who rules the world seemed subpar and so off track to me bc the novel was amazing and the directors decided to take the character names and do whatever they want but at least they had some issue with the producer so it was lowkey justified.
I just saw the trailer you sent me and I'm over the moon π₯³π₯³

AAAAHHH OMGG IM DELIGHTED π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³
Thank you for sharing it with me!!! I'm so glad there's a special ep. My head was actually spinning. The director wasn't so cruel after all, just a bit dumb πππ
This! I got a better understanding of each character after reading the full novel. The novel is obviously way…
No, he didn't. The palace he was playing qin at had a secret escape passage. he escaped and left his SRQ identity. He traveled to the South and helped assess the floods and situation there like a normal person and sent a nameless map to LR to assist her but no one met him after he left the SRQ identity. So, he was finally living for himself.
LR asked PWX why he let SRQ escape. PWX jokingly said he's petty and that SRQ with stick to LR's memory if he died and PWX didn't want LR to give SQR any slight attention. They then flirt, joke, and bicker together
Some of us are hoping for a bonus episode with LR and PWX's daughter and son. This is my big disappointment.
I love the main couple so much too!! All the actors and our leads did a spectacular job. I just felt bothered by how the drama cut some scenes of the leads that were in the novel yet added extra bits for SRQ to make it look like a sad romance. Anyway, I'm glad I came across this story.
omg there's a bonus ep trailer?!! I'm gonna check it out now π₯³

right! I loved the main couple in the drama too, it's just that the way the drama concluded or was directed could've been much better. They didn't come up with the story, the author did. They just had to follow her outline and the drama would've been perfect :/
